JESUS WILL DEFEAT THE STRONG MAN OF ERROR...

2 Corinthians 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
I. LET US REASON TOGETHER AND WEIGH THE STRONG MAN OF ERROR...
THE SPIRIT OF ERROR: IF THIS IS WRONG I DO NOT WANT TO RIGHT...
THIS SEEMS RIGHT TO ME...
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the
ways of death.
Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the
ways of death.
A. I left Bowling Green, Ky. to do a funeral in Donovan, Missouri to preach a funeral
for a dear friend. He had asked me many years ago to do his funeral. I told him
I would be honored to come and do his funeral. Well finally the day came when
my friend when to be with Jesus. I loaded the directions into the GPS and started
my journey. I was alone, I had already ate, filled up with gas in the Honda.
The GPS told me the time I would arrive, I made note of the time. When I pulled in
to the funeral home at Donovan I noted the time, the GPS was off 2 minutes from
my departure to my arrival... WOW, THAT IS ACCURATE.
The GPS was unbelievable.
After the funeral, I changed out of my suit, hugged the family and input the data
to return home. I was traveling, praying, singing and praying more. As I neared
Paducah I saw my EXIT... I had travel to Missouri often down through the years.
The GPS DID NOT SAY TURN HERE... The GPS showed me...to continue driving.
I TRUSTED THE GPS. It was totally right going... THEREFORE IT IS RIGHT NOW.
I drove and drove and drove, I ended up in Illinois... hours away from home.
Finally, I said something is wrong.
THE GPS FINALLY SAID, TURN RIGHT 1 MILE AHEAD. 1/2 MILE AHEAD TURN
RIGHT... THERE WAS NO EXIT, NONE!
So at the next exit: I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE... and drove into the dumpest
town in Illinois, CAIRO, ILLINOIS...
There was nothing but beer joints, night clubs, dumpy motels...
The town was in the flood plane. I got pulled into a motel and asked the directions.
The young person had no idea where I was looking for...
I was standing still the GPS said I was going 68 MPH.
I drove on down the road and pulled up to a bar and went in...
I showed them my GPS and told them I was lost and I told them where I was going.
They had no idea how to get where I wanted to be.
As I walked out of the bar, a drunk man said, TURN THAT STUPID THING OFF,
TURN IT BACK ON AND MAYBE IT WILL TELL HOW TO GET HOME.
BRILLIANT, I TURNED THE GPS OFF, I REPROGRAMED MY HOUSE ADDRESS,
AND THAT GPS TOLD ME HOW EXACTLY HOW TO CUT THROUGH SOME BACK
ROADS AND IN AN HOUR I WAS BACK IN FAMILIAR AREAS.
B. THE GPS IS SO GOOD, IT IS NORMALLY CORRECT... I TRUSTED THAT THING
EVEN WHEN MY SENSES SAID TURN HERE. IT LIED TO ME... I WAS LEAD ASTRAY.
IT WAS WRONG... IT WAS VERY WRONG... I TRUSTED IT AS RIGHT.
C. CAN YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THE SPIRIT OF ERROR MEANS...
I AM DOING IT MY WAY... SEEMS RIGHT TO ME?
II. ORTHODOX JEWS AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE FALLEN FOR THE STRONG
MAN OF ERROR'S LIE: IT IS GOOD TO SOW YOUR WILD OATS...
DIVINE LAW TEACHES SOMETHINGS ABOUT SOWING...
Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall
of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
A. Go out in the world and sin and sin and sin...
You will get the sin out of your system and you will learn it is not good...
THEN YOU WILL FIND YOUR WAY.
B. THERE IS A FALSE TEACHING THAT WRONG IS RIGHT, you sin and you show
God's glory...
C. There are several problems with this:
1. What is you have an accident and die while you are testing your wings?
2. What if you pick up a disease?
3. What if sin is addictive?
4. What if this sin leads me into a deeper sin?
5. What if I get caught and pay with jail, prison, handicap?
6. What kind of example do I become to others? My family? My kids?
7. What if I LIKE SIN SO MUCH, I WILL JUST NOT RETURN TO THE GOD
OF MY FATHER?
III. THE YOUNG MAN HAD THE STRONG MAN OF ERROR...
I AM DOING IT MY WAY... WHAT GOOD THING MUST I DO TO GET ETERNAL LIFE?
A. The young man was A GOOD YOUNG MAN...
B.The young man KNEW THERE WAS MORE...
HE WANTED MORE...
Matthew 19:20 The young man saith unto him,
All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
C. THE YOUNG MAN HAD THE STRONG MAN OF ERROR...
HE WANTED TO PLAY CHURCH AND KEEP THE WORLD.
Matthew 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had
great possessions.
D. It is a wrong teaching you can have it your way...
IV. THIS IS WAR... WAR IS HELL... THE STRONG MAN OF ERROR... WANTS US TO PLAY
GAMES AND LAUGH OUR WAY TO HELL.
WE ARE IN A DARK AGE... THE SPIRIT OF COMPROMISE FLOODS THE CHURCH.
IT IS HARD TO MAKE PROGRESS AGAINST FLOOD WATERS...
A. The strong man wants us to IGNORE THE REAL PROBLEM BEFORE US...
B. Man can not stand my man power against THIS ENEMY...
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand
in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
C. DO NOT WRESTLE FLESH AND BONES...
WE ARE IN A BATTLE...
1. Againist Principalities
2. Against POWERS
3. Rulers of darkness
4. Spiritual wickedness
D. The pastor is not your enemy? The church is not your enemy?
Your family is not your enemy...
E. THE DEVILS SEEKS:
1. KILL;
2. STEAL;
3. DESTROY
V. THE SPIRIT OF ERROR WILL TRY TO GET US TO FIGHT NOW,
AND TO FIGHT IN THE FLESH... ERROR SEE LITTLE IN THE WORK OF THE SPIRIT
A. MOSES KNEW ABOUT GOD...
Moses Mom had taught him about the SPIRITUAL BATTLE that had gone on since the creation
until the LAST DAYS OF TIME.
B. Moses knew in his heart that GOD HAD A SPIRITUAL PLAN...
MOSES FELT IN HIS INWARD BEING GOD RAISED HIM UP TO FIGHT THIS BATTLE.
C. One day Moses felt a CALL TO GO SEE...
HE SAW THE EGYPTIAN BEING MEAN TO HIS RACE...
Moses did what HE KNEW TO DO...
MOSES TOOK THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE TO THE BASAL SORT AND STARTED THE
FIGHT IN THE FLESH...
Exodus 2:14 And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to
kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said,
Surely this thing is known.
D. He who fights with the sword will be killed by the sword...
E. IT IS THE STRONG MAN OF ERROR THAT TRIES TO DO SPIRITUAL WORK
BY MEANS OF THE FLESH...
1. Entertainment
2. Program
3. Praise praise, and worship worship...
F. DO NOT FIGHT THE BASAL SORT OF BATTLE...
Psalm 68:1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee
before him.
VI. THE SPIRIT OF ERROR CAN NOT SEEM TO RECOGNIZE THIS BATTLE IS NOT JUST
ABOUT TODAY... THIS BATTLE IS ABOUT MY CHILDREN, THEIR CHILDREN...
THIS BATTLE WITH SIN, COMPROMISE AND LOWERING THE STANDARD OF GOD
IS ABOUT ETERNITY...
A. THE SPIRIT OF ERROR is so dangerous as it focuses on the TEMPORAL and can
not see the weigh of the ETERNAL BATTLE...
B. DID SARAH RECOGNIZE WHEN SHE TOOK GOD'S PROMISE TO THE FLESH
AND OFFER ABRAHAM HAGAR... DID SHE RECOGNIZE HER WORDS AND DEEDS
WERE SET UP THE BATTLE WHERE ISHMEAL WOULD DESTROY ISSAAC THE PROMISE
OF GOD... DID SARAH LOOK DOWN THE ROAD TO SEE THE CHRISTIANS AND ISLAM,
MOSLEM BATTLE GOING ON TODAY?
C. THE BATTLE OF ESAU AND JACOB LOOKS TO BE A FLESH BATTLE ABOUT A
BIRTH RIGHT AND THE INHERITANCE OF STUFF... MATERIALISM...
D. THIS WAS MUCH MORE THAN STUFF ... THIS IS GOD...
Genesis 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking
of the day. 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh;
and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
E. THE BATTLE IS ABOUT GOD...
1. FINDING GOD'S WILL
2. FORGIVENESS
3. FIGHTING THE BATTLE...
F. JACOB CAN NOT BEAT THE ANGEL... HE LEARNS TO HOLD ON...
VII. THE CHURCH WILL SURVIVE AND ADVANCE OVER THIS STRONG MAN OF ERROR.
WE ARE IN A DARK AGE... THE SPIRIT OF COMPROMISE FLOODS THE CHURCH.
IT IS HARD TO MAKE PROGRESS AGAINST FLOOD WATERS...
DID YOU KNOW GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT WROTE THE BIBLE?
BUT DID YOU KNOW WHEN GOD WROTE THE BOOK, HE DID NOT DIVIDE THE
BIBLE INTO CHAPTERS, VERSES, NOR THE PUNCTUATION...
A. For study reasons and the ability to be on the same page at the same time,
man added the verses, chapters, names of the Books and man put the periods, commas,
question marks, and paragraphs and spacing.
B. FOR THE MOST PART SMART MEN AND WOMEN EDITED THE WORD OF GOD
VERY WELL. THEY MISSED IT IN A FEW PLACES...
Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the
rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift
up a standard against him.
C. MOVE THE COMMA AND CHANGE THE WHOLE IDEA...
INSTEAD OF THE ENEMY COMING IN LIKE A FLOOD...
THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS COMING IN LIKE A FLOOD ---LIFTING UP A GOD STANDARD...

lift up a standard against him.
D. GOD HAS A PLAN AND GOD'S PLAN WILL BE VICTORIOUS...
Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build
my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be
loosed in heaven.
Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or
wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:
but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he
which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
CONCLUSION: This has been a two part lesson on the last day strong man of false
teaching, off seeking signs, of turning the church into night clubs of enetertainment,
and avoiding what is right and Biblical. The material herein, I did in 4 parts,
and I left out some material, but my notes reflect the overall call to watch out and not
fall for the strong man of error... BE RIGHT AND ALIGN WITH THE BALANCED GOD'S
WORD. Be a student of the word. Seek moderation. Use ears and eyes. Develop a root system.
Avoid strife.
2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way
to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.
11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.
12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
Message
2 Thessalonians 2:10 evil sleight of hand that plays to the gallery of those who hate the
truth that could save them. 11 And since they're so obsessed with evil, God rubs their noses
in it—gives them what they want.
12 Since they refuse to trust truth, they're banished to their chosen world of lies and illusions.
