We all need enthusiasm, joy, energy to BE EFFECTIVE IN DAILY LIVING.
We must develop VISION with PASSION and COMPASSION...
DO WE EVER CONSIDER MOMENTUM... EXPECTANCY... ENCOURAGEMENT...
WE SHOULD REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT TEAM REALLY CAN BE...
WHAT IS IN THE OYSTER? (I have a glass oyster shell with a pearl in it.)
1. There is a pearl of great price in there...
2. I had a friend that ate an oyster and he died of poison.
THERE ARE 5 KINDS OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ...
WE NEED TO EVALUATE THEM AND SEE WHICH ONE AM I...
1. The HEARERS /// LISTENERS /// APATHY --- INDIFFERENCE --- PROMISER
A. Some people love to TALK and MAKE PLANS and never do anything...
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his
natural face in a glass:
B. THEY ARE VAIN, USELESS, CLOUD PROMISING RAIN...
Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves
without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth,
without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
2. The BREAKERS /// PESSIMIST:
Numbers 13:28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled,
and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
Numbers 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the
people; for they are stronger than we.
Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants:
and we were in our own sight as
grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
A.These are negative people.
B. They are pessimist.
C. They see all that is bad.
D. They will normally have a long tongue.
E. They are judgmental and see what others do as wrong.
F. WHILE THEY ARE JUDGMENTAL they will EXCUSE/ PALLIATE THEIR AND
THEIR FAMILIES ACTIONS.
G. They are thermometers they can measure the temperature and tell every one what is wrong.
H. The glass is 1/2 empty.
I. NEGATIVE ATTITUDES ARE VERY CONTAGIOUS.
J. Often their words are: I TOLD YOU SO...
K. These people think the PEOPLE and the WORLD are AGAINST THEM.
L. They burn the bridges before they get to them.
M. A BREAKER complains, murmurs, fusses, nags, find fault on a regular basis.
N. It is impossible to be expecting prayerfully and to remain PESSIMISTIC.
O. A BREAKER is shining their halo and telling of the horns of others.
3. THE TAKERS: GIVE ME, GIVE ME... SANTA CLAUS...
POPEYE HAD A FRIEND... WEMPY... I WILL GLADLY REPAY YOU TUESDAY FOR A
HAMBURGER TODAY.
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant
to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and
gave also unto her husband
with her; and he did eat.
Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and
evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Matthew 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull (TAKE) out the mote out of thine eye;
and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first (TAKE) cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see
clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Matthew 20:13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong:
didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
1. They sap the very victory out of others.
2. They are like a hole in the bucket, they constantly DRAIN others enemy.
3. They seldom give unless they have strings attached to the gift.
4. They love honey but kill the bees.
5. Most of their friends are new friends as they can not keep old friends.
6. NEVER HAPPY OR CONTENT... demand more and more...
7. They expect more and more, and give less and less.
8. High maintenance.
9. I deserve more than this... THE WORLD OWES ME...
4. FAKERS /// ENTERTAINERS /// SELF-PROMOTION /// CIRCUS ATMOSHERE...
A. Fakers operate in the flesh.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither
indeed can be.
1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal,
even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither
yet now are ye able.
B. Why could Moses not just SPEAK TO THE ROCK, VS HIT THE ROCK...
Numbers 20:8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy
brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou
shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their
beasts drink.
Numbers 20:11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the
water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
Numbers 20:12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not,
to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation
into the land which I have given them.
C. There are two brothers, we call them the SONS OF THUNDER...
They were mean an vindictive.
Mark 3:17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them
Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
Luke 9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that
we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
5. THE MAKERS: DOERS
A. WHY SIT HERE? We are going to die...
2 Kings 7:3 And there were 4 leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one
to another: WHY SIT HERE UNTIL WE DIE?
B. WHILE 10 SPIES TELL WHY WE CAN'T DO IT...
Joshua and Caleb us believe the promise they are ready...
Numbers 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once,
and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Numbers 14:24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed
me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
Deuteronomy 1:21 Look, God, your God, has placed this land as a gift before you. Go
ahead and take it now. God, the God-of-Your-Fathers, promised it to you.
Don't be afraid. Don't lose heart."
Conclusion: We must refuse to just float aimless downstream. We are more than spiritual
hitch-hikers, catching a ride when ever someone stops.
