3: to be pregnant : await the birth of one's : NEW LIFE,
2: to anticipate or look forward to the coming or occurrence of : suppose, think

to consider bound in duty or obligated
anticipate, await, hope (for), watch (for), look for, look forward to
expect, hope, look mean to await some occurrence or outcome.
expect implies a high degree of certainty and usually involves the idea of preparing or
envisioning
hope implies little certainty but suggests confidence or assurance in the possibility that
what one desires or longs for will happen
look, with to, implies assurance that expectations will be fulfilled ex·pect

Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God:

I. HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED WHAT CRUSHES A DREAM?
WHY DO PEOPLE ALLOW THEIR EXPECTATIONS TO BE LOWERED...
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with
God all things are possible.

A Preacher was traveling the east coast and visited a midwestern college.
The Bishop stayed with the college president... after diner they had a heated
discussion about education.
The bishop told the President: THE END OF THE WORLD CAN'T BE TO FAR AWAY...

D. THE BISHOP HAD A LIMITED VIEW OF LIFE.
BISHOP WRIGHT HAD TWO SONS THAT WERE MEN OF VISION AND EXPECTATION...

E. Their Dad's belief system said: ONLY ANGELS OF GOD COULD FLY...
WAS SURPASSED BY HIS TWO'S EXPECTATIONS AND GREATER VISION.
II. MAKING EXCUSES CRUSHES EXPECTATION...
WITHIN THE VERY NATURE OF EXCUSING ONE'S SELF IS AN ACCUSATION ....
EXCUSES NEVER IMPRESS GOD...
Luke 14:18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have
bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

A. The young man is working for the Church, they are remodeling the CHURCH SCHOOL.
B. In the miidst of the SWEAT and TOIL... THE AXE HEAD FLIIES OFF...
C. The AXE HEAD is hopelessly lost IN THE RIVER...
D. The axe is BORROWED.
2 Kings 6:6 And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut
down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.
E. What are we expecting?
CONTRATRY TO ALL EXPECTATIONS, the iron AXE HEAD below the swollen river
tide, is going to SWIM...
F. BRING THE HEAVY PROBLEMS TO GOD... AND BELIEVE.
THE OLD PREACHER LAUNCH A FAITH ATTACK...
IV. GOD'S ANOINTED MAN HAS A GREAT VICTORY... THE VICTORY WAS GOD...
SAMSON EXPECTED A VICTORY... BUT THERE IS A PROBLEM AFTER THE VICTORY...
BIG VICTORY AND THEN LITTLE PERSONAL PROBLEM CAN CRUSH THE DREAM?
A. WHAT WILL KILL YOUR DREAM?
Samson just had a wonderful victory, 1000 philistines fall...
Judges 15:18 And he was sore athirst, and called on the Lord, and said, Thou hast given this great
deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the
uncircumcised?
B. NOW A BIG PROBLEM ARISES... THIRST...
This is a heavy problem...
C. IS THIS PROBLEM TO MUCH FOR YOU?
We taste a great victory... THEN THIRST
D. EXPECT REFRESHING ... LIVING WATER...
THE ANSWER IS FOUND IN THE PREVIOUS VICTORY...
E. THE ANSWER WAS FOUND IN THE STUPIDIEST PLACE...
THE JAW BONE THAT HAD BEEN A WEAPON... TO KILL
NOW GIVES LIFE...
Judges 15:19 But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and

F. EXPECT GOD TO MEET YOUR NEED...
V. SEEMS WE FEAR THE USA AND WORLD GOVERNMENTS... THEY TRY TO CRUSH...
WHO IS GOD THAT CAN DELIVER YOU OUT OF MAN'S PLAN?
THE KING'S ORDER IS CLEAR... BOW VS. DEATH... HOW'S THAT FOR DASHING YOUR
EXPECTATIONS...
A. There are 4 boys capture and taken far from home...
No one back home will ever know...
B. GOD MUST HAVE LEFT YOU... GO AHEAD AND COMPPROMISE...
Daniel 3:15 Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut,
psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made;
well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and
who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
C. WE DREAM, WE EXPECT... KING YOU CAN NOT STOP THAT...
Daniel 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar,
we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
[17] If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will
deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
D. WHERE DID THAT 4TH MAN COME FROM...
Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they
have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Daniel 3:27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together,
saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither
were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
E. NEVER ALLOW THE GOVERNMENT, PRESIDENT, CONGRESS OR ANYONE CRUSH
YOU EXPECTATIONS...
VI. THE JOURNEY HAS BEEN LONG, HARD AND EXPECTATION CRUSHING...
GOD HAS A PLAN... DREAM... THE PROMISE LAND IS BEFORE US...
A. SO YOUR OWN WORDS AND ACTIONS HAVE YOU IN A MESS...
Numbers 14:34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day
for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
B. GOD HAS MERCY... TENDER MERCIES...
C. DO NOT FEAR GOD'S LEADING...
Joshua 5:12 And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land;
neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan
that year.
D. ISRAEL WAS TIRED AND WEARY... They had been ON THE ROAD for 40 years.
They had faced the Red Sea, moving tents, fiery serpents, flood rivers, giants, enemies on every
side.
E. The children of Israel were standing on a promise: THERE WILL BE MILK AND HONEY FOR YOU.
THEY HAD HOPE... BY FAITH JOY IS AHEAD.
F. THEY HAVE CROSSED THE CHILLY JORDAN RIVER...
FEAR MUST YIELD TO FAITH... FEARFUL THINKING MUST FLEE...
G. THE ANGEL FOOD: MANNA IS FOREVER GONE...
ONE OMER IS HIDDEN IN THE ARK OF THE COVENANT...
NOW WE WILL LIVE ON THE EXPECTATION OF THE FRUIT OF THE LAND.
WE ARE IN CANAAN.
H. THE LORD BLESSES A MAN BUT ALSO TEACHES HIM HOW LITTLE HE IS
WE ARE NOTHING

VII. OUR TERRIBLE ENEMY HAS A MEAN QUESTION TO TRY AND HALT OUR EXPECTATIONS
JOB'S EXPECTATIONS... LEARN TO HANG ON...
A. WE MUST LEARN TO ENDURE... ENDURE HARDNESS MY FRIEND
Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
B. FAMILY ATTACKS CAN CRUSH EXPECTATIONS...
Job 2:9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.
C. SOMETIMES FRIENDS ATTACK...
Job 2:11 (A)Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they
came every one from his own place;....
D. SOMETIMES THE ATTACK IS THE DEVIL; YOUR FAMILY; YOUR FRIENDS...
DREAM ON... EXPECT GOD...
VIII. SOMETIMES WE KILL OUR OWN DREAMS...
Matthew 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
A. Several years ago in our area 3 men build a DUCK BLIND... They worked for hours converting
an old john boat into this wonderful duck hunting machine.
They launched their boat to hunt ducks...
They faced a great danger... the boat got out on the lake and immediately sank.
All three died..
IT CAN BE COSTLY TO ACT IN PRESUMPTION...
B. THERE IS A TEMPTATION THAT WILL DESTROY YOUR DREAM
OR GREATLY CHANGE THE FOCUS...
C. DELIVER US LORD FROM EVIL.... KEEP THE DREAM... FROM THE THIEF...
IX. THERE IS A BANK OF FAITH... YOU MAKE DEPOSITS AND WITHDRAWALS...
ARE WE EXPECTING?
DREAM OF GOD THE PROVIDER?
A. THE MAN SAID: Ain't nothing wrong with this check...

Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
[6] He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
[7] In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
[8] Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for
us. Selah.
B.GUARD YOUR FAITH... GOD HAS A PLAN... IT IS OUR JOB TO DREAM, EXPECT, AND
GUARD OUR FAITH... to expect god's plan we must take good care of our faith...
Romans 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving
glory to God;
Rev. 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found
thy works perfect before God.
CONCLUSION: Expect a miracle every day. Expect a miracle when you pray.
Blessed is he who expects nothing, he shall receive exactly what he expected.
Arise church, dream a new dream, expect a new revival... HOPE...
