#1 *QUE SERA SERA... WHAT WILL BE WILL BE... it is not my fault...
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com
Part one... of two parts
You ever say: It is not my fault?
I. QUE SERA SERA... WHATEVER WILL BE WILL BE... THE FUTURE IS NOT OURS TO SEE...
IT IS EASY TO DEVELOP A THEORY OF LIFE THAT THIS HAPPENED TO ME AND I HAD
NOTHING TO DO WITH IT...
A. QUE SERA SERA IS NOT FROM ANY REAL LANGUAGE, BUT WE SPEAK IT AS
A ROMANTIC LANGUAGE...
B. Writer: LIVINGSTON, JAY / EVANS, RAY JULY, 1956 DIANA SHORE MADE IT FAMOUS.
When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother, "What will I be?
Will I be pretty? Will I be rich?" Here's what she said to me:
"Que sera, sera, Whatever will be, will be; The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera, What will be, will be."
When I was just a child in school, I asked my teacher, "What will I try?
Should I paint pictures" Should I sing songs?" This was her wise reply:
"Que sera, sera, Whatever will be, will be; The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera, What will be, will be."
When I grew up and fell in love. I asked my sweetheart, "What lies ahead?
Will we have rainbows Day after day?" Here's what my sweetheart said:
"Que sera, sera, Whatever will be, will be; The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera, What will be, will be."
Now I have Children of my own. They ask their mother, "What will I be?"
Will I be handsome? Will I be rich?" I tell them tenderly:
"Que sera, sera, Whatever will be, will be; The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera, What will be, will be.

C. Language in title and lyric The song became so popular throughout the world that speakers
of many languages adopted its title phrase, "Que serĂ¡, serĂ¡", into their speech, or at least came
to recognize it and understand its meaning separately from the music. In spite of the fact that the
phrase is not grammatical in any language, the song inspired a sense of ownership in many speakers
of different Romance languages, such that they came to feel that the phrase was an altered form of their own respective native languages.
D. The popularity of the song has led to curiosity about the origins of the saying and the identity of its
language. The answer is not simple. It is a centuries-old saying used mainly by English-speaking people.
II. QUE SERA SERA, I COULD NOT HELP IT... I DID NOT DO THIS...
THIS JUST HAPPENED... MY DESIRES BECAME ADDICTIONS AND THEY TOOK OVER MY
BEHAVIOR... THIS IS A CURRENT THEORY OF LIVING...
A. Did you happen to see the news on August 1, 2013 from a court room in Cleveland, Ohio.
ARIEL CASTRO is 53 years old and drove a SCHOOL BUS, father of daughter and son.
B. AMANDA BERRY, GINA DEJESUS, MICHELLE KNIGHT... THREE IMPRISONED WOMEN
FOR 11 YEARS.
C. ARIEL CASTRO... was discussing HIS PERSONAL BEHAVIOR...
He said: I AM NOT A MONSTER... I WAS NOT VIOLENT.
I WAS NOT HAPPY.
I WENT TO CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY.
HE SPOKE OF SELF PITY AND BLAMED OTHERS FOR WHAT HE HAD BECOME.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBILE FOR WHAT I HAVE DONE.
I HAVE AN ADDICTION IT IS NOT MY FAULT.
I AM SICK, I AM A SICK MAN... LIKE AN ALCOHOLIC IS A SICK PERSON.
I AM SICK... I HAD NO INTENTIONS OF PREYING ON PEOPLE.
MOST OF THE STUFF THAT WENT ON IN THE HOUSE WAS CONSENSUAL...
CASTRO WENT ON TO SAY: I AM A VICTEM!
AS A CHILD HE HAD BEEN ABUSED, AND WAS PLAGUED WITH ANADDICTED TO
PORN... HE SAID: I LIVED A NORMAL LIFE.
CASTRO SAID: I AM MISUNDERSTOOD.
HE SAID: EVERYTHING WAS GOOD FOR ME, BUT I WAS PLAGUED BY AN ADDICTION
TO PORN.
CASTRO SAID: THERE WAS A LOT OF HARMONY IN THIS HOUSE.
CASTRO HAD TO SIGN OVER HIS PROPERTY AND HOUSE AS PART OF THE PLEA.
AS HE SIGN THE PAPERS TO DESTROY HIS HOME,
HE WAS SAD AND SAID: THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF HAPPY TIMES THERE.
I BELIEVE I "MAY HAVE BEEN ADDICTED TO PORN"....
I NEVER HAVE HAD ANY RECORD. I HAD A GOOD HISTORY OF WORKING AND
PROVIDING. THE ADDICTION TOOK ME OVER...
THE LAWYERS SAID CASTRO WAS A VERY GOOD LIAR.
HE USED RUSTY CHAINS AND FEED THEM VERY LITTLE.
THE PLEA WAS LIFE IN PRISON PLUS 1,000 YEARS.
III. THE BIBLE IS FULL OF PEOPLE WITH A QUE SERA SERA ATTITUDE... MY WAY...
I FORCED MYSELF... NOT MY FAULT
A. The first King of Israel start as a humble, anointed man of God... looked like a prophet?
B. THE OLD PREACHER GIVES VERY CLEAR DIRECTIONS... WAIT, WAIT BOY...
C. WHO IS THE KING? SAUL... Why should I have to wait?
Saul was impatient... lack of submission... UNDERMIND AUTHORITY...
1 Samuel 13:8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed:
but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
[9] And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the
burnt offering.
D. WAITING BECOMES A TEST... IT IS EASY TO MOVE IN THE FLESH THAN TO WAIT AND
TRUST THE WORD OF GOD...
1 Samuel 13:10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering,
behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.
[11] And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were
scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered
themselves together at Michmash;
[12] Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made
supplication unto the Lord: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
E. IT IS NOT BY FAULT THAT I DID THIS...
PREACHER YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LATE...
BOY, YOU DID FOOLISH...
1 Samuel 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment
of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom
upon Israel for ever.
IV. WHAT WILL BE WILL BE, IT IS NOT MY FAULT GROWS...
QUE SERA SERA ATTITUDES TAKE DEEP ROOTS... MORE, MORE, NEVER SATISFIED...
A. How stupid can a person be with a QUE SERA SERA SPIRIT?
B. Sure I HAVE OBEYED WHAT GOD COMMANDED...
1 Samuel 15:13 And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the Lord: I have
performed the commandment of the Lord.
C. One sin leads to more sin...
Sin is always ADDICTIVE and develops TOLERANCE, it takes more to SATISFY.
WHAT DO I HEAR? TATTLE TAILS?
WHO TOLD ON ME? It does not matter who told if it is TRUE.
1 Samuel 15:14 And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the
lowing of the oxen which I hear?
D. THEY SAID, THEY DID... THE PEOPLE DID IT...
I AM JUST THE KING? THE BOSS? THEY DID IT...
NO... REPENTANCE WITH A QUE SERA SERA?
1 Samuel 15:15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared
the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God; and the rest we have utterly
destroyed.
V. SAUL JUST DOESN'T GET IT... HIS QUE SERA SERA... IT IS NOT MY FAULT....
AGAIN AND AGAIN SAUL BLAMES OTHERS FOR HIS ACTIONS...
A. THE SECOND TIME SAUL MAKES A STATEMENT...
HE HAS LIED TO HIMSELF AND BELIEVES HIS OWN LIE...
1 Samuel 15:20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone
the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed
the Amalekites.
[21] But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been
utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.
B. SAUL YOU HAD A GOOD SPIRIT AND ATTITUDE, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU...
DID YOU FALL FOR THE ATTITUDE "WHAT WILL BE WILL BE?"
1 Samuel 15:17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the
head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel?
C. A CONFESS WITH A BUT ATTACHED REVEALS A POOR ATTITUDE...
MAYBE I DID WRONG? BUT I FEARED THE PEOPLE...
1 Samuel 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment
of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
VI. THE BATTLE OF THE CROSS HAS MUCH TO DO WITH YOUR ACTIONS, BUT THE
REAL BATTLE IS THE BATTLE OF ATTITUDES... I DO NOT CARE IS A BAD ATTITUDE...
BUT NOT ACCEPTING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR WORDS AND BEHAVIOR
IS A VERY DANGEROUS ATTITUDE...
A. WHAT IS GOD LOOKING FOR?
B. WHAT DOES GOD THINK ABOUT STUBBORNESS?
1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as
in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat
of rams.
[23] For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
C. Have you ever heard someone say: they are stubborn and proud of it?
1 Samuel 15:26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the
word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
CONCLUSION: I am where I am because this is my choice.
You are a sum total of your menial daily choices...
It is insane to think you can stay the same and change everyone around you.
Bring your attitudes to the altar, the drippings of the cross can expose our bad attitudes.
Are you honestly evaluating your attitudes and working on a plan to improve them?
