TAKE A GOOD LOOK --- ARE WE CREATING A FRANKENSTEIN?

I do this in two parts.
Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
Perhaps I should start this lesson with a great truth... WHERE ARE YOU TODAY?
SOMETIMES WE WILL NEVER CHANGE UNTIL THE PAIN OF STAYING THE SAME
IS GREATER GREATER THAN THE PAIN OF CHANGE.

I. INTRODUCTION: IT IS EASY TO MISS WHAT IS IMPORTANT AFTER THE
WELL GOES DRY AND WE HAVE NO WATER TO DRINK?
HAD DO WE ESTABLISH HOW IMPORTANT OTHER PEOPLE ARE TO YOU?
A. LET US HAVE A CONTEST: WHO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT?
Have you ever heard about the argument the fingers were having?
The five fingers were in a heated discussion as to which finger was the greatest?
1. THUMB said he was the greatest: one trait of a human is so important to the
human being, he has a opposing finger, the man uses me to hitch hike,
thus I am the most important...
2. INDEX FINGER said: I am the most important, I am the forefinger, I am the
pointer, and man uses me to pick the nose for breathing purposes.
3. The GREAT FINGER knew he was the longest and middle fingers,
he knew how important he was.
4. The RING FINGER noted he was the finger that human's express their love,
he wears the expensive diamond and gold... I most be important.
5. The PINKY FINGER said I cried WEE WEE all the way home...
I many be short, but I am the best.
The contest would be easy? Who can pick up a dollar bill will be elected as the
VIP? See none of them could do this job a lone? Only by working together can this
task be accomplished...
B. I have a friend that I knew her parents before she was born. I watched her grow up.
She has reconnected 2 months ago after not seeing her in 30 years.
SHE WROTE A COMMENT THIS WEEK?
DO THEY HAVE ANY ANGER MANGEMENT CLASSES FOR TODDLERS?
I want so bad to answer her: YES, SEND MOMMY AND DADDY TO ANGER
MANGEMENT and you might change THE KIDS ATTITUDE...
II. GOD GIVES A BABY, THAT IS HIS GIFT TO US...
WHAT WE DO WITH THAT LIFE CAN BE OUR GIFT BACK TO GOD...
WE BECOME A SUM TOTAL OF OUR DAILY MENIAL CHOICES...
A. 3 + 2 + 5 + 10 = 20
Joshua 24:13 And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which
ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not
do ye eat.
14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the
gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye
the LORD.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the
gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve
other gods;
B. CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY...
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which
soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he
also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the
Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
III. WANT TO LOOK AT HONEST CHOICES... DANIEL LIVES IN A DAY OF OPPORTUNITIES...
WASTED YEARS, WASTED YEARS O, HOW FOOLISH?
A. Daniel was called in A DANGEROUS DAY, he was far from home and no one would know about
his choices...
B. DANIEL HAD 3 FRIENDS... SHADRACH, MESHACH, & ABEDNEGO...
Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the
king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs
that he might not defile himself.
C. CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES...
Daniel 1:9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
D. DANIEL AND HIS FRIENDS CREATED BEFENITS THAT WOULD FOLLOW THEM
ALL THEIR DAYS...
Daniel 1:17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom:
and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
IV. MAKE CHOICES TO AVOID THE JUDGMENT...
LET US LOOK AT WHAT ANOTHER PERSON CREATED IN THE SAME TIME PERIOD...
NEBUCHADNEZZAR WAS A GREAT MAN... YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO CHANGE WHAT YOU
HAVE CREATED...
A. NEBUCHADNEZZAR was a great king, he was making some poor choices...
His kingdom had grown and grown and he WAS LIKENED UNTO A GREAT TREE...
B. NEBUCHADNEZZAR, YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE...
Daniel 4:25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the
field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of
heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the
kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure
unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
C. YOU HAVE CREATED A FRANKENSTEIN? NEBUCHADNEZZAR WHY NOT CHANGE?
HEAR THIS WARNING AND CHANGE... CHANGE YOUR CHOICES...
Daniel 4:27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by
righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
D. Listen to the preacher, there is a chance of REPENTANCE --- JUDGMENT CAN BE AVOIDED!
Start please God, help people...
V. WHY? WHY? WHY?
THE POOR CHOICES HAVE TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCES...
NEBUCHADNEZZAR --- YOU HAVE BECOME A FRANKENSTEIN ---
Daniel 4:28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom
by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king
Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they
shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that
the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and
did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown
like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
VI. HOW COSTLY CAN STAYING IN A MOOD BE?
GOD GIVES NEBUCHADNEZZAR A SECOND CHANCE, OVERCOME YOUR POOR CHOICES?
A. AT THE END OF THE DAYS--- 7
7 SEASONS --- 7 THE NUMBER OF COMPLETION...
Daniel 4:34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine
understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that
liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to
generation:
B. What if NEBUCHADNEZZAR had listened and changed?
Daniel 4:36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine
honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was
established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth,
and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
VII. THERE ARE BIBLE LESSONS WHERE PEOPLE CHANGED THEIR MOODS AND ATTITUDES
AND GOD WORKED MIGHTILY THROUGH THEIR DISTORTION...
A. THE PREACHER WAS IN A TERRIBLE SHAPE... poor OLD ELIJAH...
The queen and king vowed to destroy him and his ministry...
1 Kings 19:4 But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a
juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD,
take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
B. ELIJAH HAD TO GATHER THE FRANKENSTEIN AND TRUST GOD...
1 Kings 19:5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and
said unto him, Arise and eat.
6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head.
And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat;
because the journey is too great for thee.
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights
unto Horeb the mount of God.
C. ANY SOLDIER KNOWS THE VALUE OF R&R, REST AND RELAXATION...
REST, EAT, RE-GROUP AND ATTACK... FIND A NEW DAY--- A NEW HOPE!
VIII. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? CHANGE! LET GOD...
GOD CAN HELP US KILL FRANKENSTEIN BUT WE MUST FIND GOD...
A. WHERE ARE YOU GOD?
1. WIND? 2. EARTHQUAKE? 3. FIRE?
1 Kings 19:11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold,
the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the
rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake;
but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still
small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out,
and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said,
What doest thou here, Elijah?
14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel
have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and
I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when
thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
C. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE... LISTEN TO THE STILL, SMALL VOICE...
CONCLUSION:Job 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait,
till my change come.
CHANGE MY CHOICES CHANGE MY LIFE...
TO CHANGE YOUR CHOICES AND CHANGE YOUR COURSE OF ACTION MAY BE DIFFICULT
AND VERY DRAMATIC AND BRING PAIN --- BUT CHANGE MAY BE THE BEST THING
THAT COULD EVER HAPPEN...
SOMETIMES WE WILL NEVER CHANGE UNTIL THE PAIN OF STAYING THE SAME
IS GREATER GREATER THAN THE PAIN OF CHANGE.
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground:
for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
