No Fishing Allowed - by Bishop Charles C Jones
Micah 7:19
He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities;
and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
When we “we confess our sins, [God] is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). When we seek forgiveness, the God we serve is quick to “blot out your transgressions for [His] own sake; And [He] will not remember your sins” (Isaiah 43:25). When we need mercy, we can “come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
So how much more assurance do we need that we are forgiven? The answer should be a resounding “NONE!”
My brothers and sisters, if we take God at His Word (and we should) and believe that “God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent or change His mind” (1 Samuel 15:29), then we need to stop fishing for and digging up those things that God has already forgiven us for! It grieves the very heart of God and delights the devil that His children continue to fish out and to beat themselves up for the things from which they have already been forgiven and washed clean.
When you ask God to forgive you of your sins, your wrongdoings, your short-comings, your missteps, and your missing the mark, He does!
At that moment, those things are put in the past, they are cast into the sea of forgetfulness never to remembered again (unless you bring them up, because God doesn’t), and you are made new, washed clean in the Blood of Jesus. So stop grieving the heart of God and giving the devil something to dance about because you insist on going fishing in your past! Then there are those who are always trying to fish in God's pond by trying to catch something from your past so that they can try to hold something over you by trying to make you constantly feel guilty. (Quote Romans 8:1) I think that if your going to try and dig up something on a person from God's pond that you are fishing from a private pond, you are on private property.
Private Property is land or belongings that is owned by a person or group and kept for their exclusive use. Well since the Sea of Forgetfulness is exclusively owned and used for God's use then whoever is trying to fish and catch something on you is liable to be placed under arrest because you are trespassing. To commit criminal trespass, one must knowingly enter or remain on private property without license or privilege to do so from the property owner.
The devil nor his nemesis have any authority to fish in God's sea! Have you ever noticed that when satan appeared in the presence of God concerning Job that he never bought up his past? why is that? because God said that Job was a upright man that feared God and hated evil. He didn't have a case on Job and neither does he have one on you.
The whole of our text verse reads “He will again have compassion on us,and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”
God will subdue our iniquities! Now watch this because this is so powerful! The word “subdue” is such a powerful word. In the Hebrew, it is the word “kabash” (kaw-bash) meaning to “tread down, disregard, conquer, bring into subjection”. The Hebrew word for “cast” is “shalak” (shaw-lak) which means “to hurl, to throw away”.
What an amazing assurance! When we ask God to forgive us, He takes whatever sin, whatever iniquity, we are bringing with us to present before him, He takes those things, conquers them for us and brings them into subjection, then He throws them away into the depths of the sea never to remember them anymore! Amen somebody!
Now that is something to get up and shout about! God throws our sins away as trash! So stop plucking! Stop trash-picking! Stop dumpster-diving! Stop going back to the trash!
The Bible say's, "God casts our sins into the depths", the “tsuwlah” (tsoo-law) which is the Hebrew word for abyss. An abyss is “a bottomless gulf. An immeasurably deep gulf or great space.” Considering that the gulf is so immeasurable i dare you to dive in it and expect to come back.
It is time to truly forget what God has already forgiven and forgotten. God yearns for you to remember those things no more. If He doesn’t, then neither should you.
You have made it through the storms and the rains; you overcame hard trials even when the odds were against you. You came through great tribulations that put your faith in God to the test. There were some things that made you weep in the midnight hour. But look at you now; you made it to another year!
Its because of Jesus that you made it. So Stop, take a deep Breath, and Exhale, some of you need to come to the conclusion that I never would have made it without God some of us almost lost it all but right now we can see how He was there for me. Amen somebody!
God said in His word to forget the former things, neither consider the things of old. He wants you to let go and stop remembering the mistakes you made, stop dwelling on what others did to you. Its time to forget the past.
Because God has tossed all your past mistakes into the SEA OF FORGETFULNESS!
I wonder how many of us realize that there are people who are going through similar hings. That feel as if God hasnt blessed them because they feel that God still remembers what they did in the past?
However, God wants you to realize that His forgiveness includes His forgetfulness. Too many times people cry out and repent of their sins to the Lord, then they go back and reflect on their sins, when what they prayed for has been forgiven. Its the enemy, not God that keeps reminding you of your sins, and causing you to miss your blessing. You can't dwell on the past and talk about it all the time.
The Bible says; For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: (Pro 23:7). Each time you think your a failure, you will be. Each time you think your not going to be blessed, you won't. If you dont change your mind set or the way you think the enemy will always hold you in bondage. And Gods word will never be fulfilled in your life.
Gods Word is faithful and true, He watches over His word to perform it. His Word says He will be merciful and remember our sins no more. So why do we keep reminding Him of them? One of the primary times that we get defeated in our daily living is when we allow the enemy to remind us of our sins. We allow him to play our past sins over and over in our minds as if they are a movie. Why would you allow him to do this? And why do you want to remind God of your failures and defeats? Doing this will only make you weary, stressed and depressed.
You should be reminding yourself that you are a child of the King and you are too blessed to be stressed or depressed.
The scripture says in Psalm 103:12 that God has put our sins away from us as far as the east is from the west.
After we confess our sins, God no longer remembers our sins. When you gave your life to the Lord you became a new creature in Christ. 2 Co 5:17 say's Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
God only sees us through the blood of Jesus Christ. Somebody aught to thank God for the Blood of Jesus!
Because of The Blood of Jesus we are made whole, Because of The Blood of Jesus we are made righteous in His eyes.
God said in Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
The enemy may take delight in holding up your past sins and trying to get you to agree with him that you are failures. And if you are having a bad day and all hell is breaking loose in your lives. He might begin to make you feel ashamed and condemned as if you committed the sin all over again. When he does that, INSTEAD OF YOU CONFESSING THE WORD YOU DO THE TOTAL OPPOSITE, you stop confessing what the Word of God says about you and YOU BEGIN TO spend more time SPEAKING AND saying bad things about yourself, hold pity parties, and giving glory to the enemy. Your sins can only be past sins if you leave them in the past. If you continually allow the enemy to bring your past sins into the present, they will be used to beat you down and wear you out until you give up and go back into the practice of willful sin.
You might be saying how do I defeat the enemy when he brings up my past? Well for one thing, don't hold a conversation with him. You know how to tell someone to talk to the hand when you don't want to hear what they are saying. Well, whats wrong with you doing that to the enemy? Put your hand up!!!! And let him know you don't have time to talk to him. If he wants to talk to someone send him to Jesus. Because the battle doesn't belong to you it belongs to the Lord, so get out of Gods way and let Him do His work!
I don't know about you, but I had some things in my past that I NEEDED thrown in the Sea of Forgetfulness.
I am so grateful that Jesus Christ has placed my sins in that sea, and He will do the same for you, if you ask Him to. He will cast them into the sea, not near the shore-side, where they may be washed on shore again, but into the depth of the sea, never to rise again. When God forgives sin He remembers them no more, and takes care that it shall never be remembered anymore against you.
As far as God is concerned, He threw your sins into the Sea of Forgetfulness and placed a sign there that reads, No Fishing Allowed! So once and for all tell the devil and all your enemies to stop trying to fish where God has told them not to.
Im free....Praise the Lord I'm free no longer bound no more chains holding me my soul is resting and its just a blessing. Praise the Lord Hallelujiah Im Free!
God say's "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins" Isaiah 43:25
Somebody said how can a brown cow
eat green grass and give you white milk
well if you think thats something one day
Gods chemical laboratory of redemption
took my black soul and dipped it in red blood
and I came out white as snow.
I heard the Lord say to Isaiah the Prophet in Isaiah 1:18 say “Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. – Isaiah 1:18
I heard David say In Psalms 51:7 "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Help Me Holy Ghost!
