“BRING YOUR LITTLE TO ME!”
Matthew 14:18-20
“When it was evening, His disciples came to Him saying, ‘This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves come food.’ But Jesus said to them, ‘They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, ‘We have here only five loaves and two fish.’ He said, ‘Bring them here
to Me.” Then He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.”
Introduction:
You have something with you this evening! Something of “GREAT VALUE, GREATER VALUE” than many of you may think that you have. Something of “SUCH GREAT VALUE” you could not only change your life with, but you could most likely change your world with it and the world of many others! But many of you don’t realize what you have yet!
First I want to share with you about a force that changed the world forever! It didn’t happen in my life time but it did happen within the scope of my parent’s generation. The change I speak of took place on August 6, 1945 over Hiroshima, Japan.
Now please don’t think I’m only talking about the explosion that day we know of as the first “ATOMIC EXPLOSION” from the world’s first Nuclear Bomb. No I want to go a little deeper than that. I want to share with you the workings of the Bomb itself to show you something and prove a point for your change!
In 43 seconds the bomb fell over 31,000 feet exploding 1900 feet above the earth & in a few millionths of a second a “SUBATOMIC CHAIN REACTION” took place going through #88 generations of doubling in size. The Bomb reached a temperature of several million degrees. Hotter than the core of the sun. The explosion produced so much energy that the light & glare would have been visible from Jupiter, some 390 million miles from earth.
Now if you think that is staggering, here is something even more staggering! That Atomic Bomb Explosion leveled (#4 square miles), literally vaporizing human beings, destroyed building & scorching the earth 6 miles away & broke glass 12 miles away was made with something almost inconceivably small.
The energy which produced that Bomb was the by-product of a “SUBATOMIC EXPLOSION” that used only “#1 %” of “#2 pd" of Uranium or “#1/3" of “#1 oz” of Uranium was translated into an explosion #2,000 times more powerful than any bomb in the history of warfare up to that moment. The only other one was dropped a few days later on another Japanese city with the same effect.
All that to say this, “A LOT CAN BE DONE WITH A LITTLE” especially in the right hands. If that is the case then how can we comprehend the “POTENTIAL POWER & ENERGY” which resides in all of us in the hands of the “OMNIPOTENT CREATOR” who created all matter?
Ephesians 1:18-19
“I pray...that the eyes of your understanding ( or heart) be enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. & what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.”
I think there are so many people within the church that don’t realize or have any idea of what they have been given through & by the “POWER OF GOD IN THEIR LIVES!”
Oh, don’t get me wrong! They know that God has given them something but many are like the disciples on that hillside that day. They look at the Pastor, the Evangelist, the Teacher and they say “FEED THEM!”
What was it that Jesus said? He said to these disciples, these men of supposed men of God! “YOU FEED THEM!” And, in essence, they answered, “THIS IS ALL WE HAVE! IT’S NOT VERY MUCH OR ENOUGH!”
FOLK, YOU HAVE THE “POWER WITHIN YOU” GIVEN TO YOU BY GOD TO “CHANGE YOUR WORLD!”
YOUR LITTLE IS (MUCH) IN THE EYES OF GOD!
What would have happened if one of the “DISCIPLES” took those “5 loaves & two fish” & blessed it in the name of Jesus & started to feed the Multitude with that “LITTLE” he had!
Jesus knew they had the “POWER” to do it because He knew it was “GIVEN TO THEM BY GOD!” Didn’t Jesus tell them to do it themselves? He told them, “YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT!” He knew they had the power “NOT OF THEMSELVES” but of the “HOLY SPIRIT” of the God of Creation, of the Jehova Jireh, the God that supplies all their needs!
BUT THEY HAD A
“LITTLE IS NOT ENOUGH MENTALITY!”
In other words, they didn’t think they could do it. I know you may be thinking that they didn’t know to even think in that paradigm of thinking! That may or may not be true but we know better than that! Because we’ve got the
“20/20 HINDSIGHT & FORESIGHT OF SCRIPTURE!”
So many Christians sit with a “LITTLE IS NOT ENOUGH MENTALITY!” They’re not doing because they’ve been convinced, either by the enemy or by ourselves, they’re not capable of doing great things in & for God!
But folk, I want to tell you THAT’S JUST NOT TRUE! Jesus said...
John 14:12-14
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also: and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatsoever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father my be glorified in the son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
HE IS YOU! Every single one of you who love Him & believe in Him!
Rom 8:28 says...
“ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE...”
You, each & every single one of you here, who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior are...
“CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE!”
Now lets look at our text again. Something powerful for us in this. Then Jesus said something so profound, I think we’ve lost it in the storyline! He said to them in verse #18...
“BRING YOUR LITTLE TO ME!”
Folk, if we don’t bring our “LITTLE” to Him to use we’ll never know the “FULL POWER” of what He has given us! It takes “FAITH” to step out “FOR GOD” and it takes “FAITH” to step out “TO GOD” as well!
Matthew 17:20 Jesus says of “FAITH”
“...if you have (FAITH) as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there and it will move, and nothing will be impossible to you.”
YOUR MEASURE IS GREAT ENOUGH TO DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS! BUT IF YOU’RE CONVINCED, AS THE DISCIPLES WERE, WHEN THEY SAID, “WE ONLY HAVE...” OR “IT’S NOT ENOUGH!”
LISTEN TO HIM WHEN HE SAYS TO YOU
“BRING IT TO ME!”
1. HOW MUCH IS YOUR LITTLE?
Proverbs 16:8 says “Better is “LITTLE” with righteousness than much without right!”
What does that say to us? It says your “LITTLE IS ENOUGH!” It’s more than enough! It’s more than you realize!
Your “LITTLE IS POWERFUL” in the sight of an “ALMIGHTY GOD” who can take “5 LOAVES & 2 FISH” & Feed 5,000 men, women & children with 12 Baskets full left over!
Think about the woman who gave her all! Jesus said she gave more than the others who gave much more money than she did, but because she gave her “ALL” Jesus said she gave more than they did.
2. HOW POWERFUL IS YOUR LITTLE?
Your little can move mountains! Your little in the hands of God can do miraculous wonders.
Mark 11:23
“For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatsoever he says.”
Philippians 4:13 “All things through Christ who strengthens me!”
Romans 4:17 “...God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did...”
3. WHAT IS THAT LITTLE THING?
That “LITTLE THING” is your “FAITH!” But remember that your “FAITH IS TIED TO YOUR TONGUE!”
Romans 12:3 “...God has dealt to each one a measure of FAITH.”
A “MEASURE” indicates it would seem small! But God never does anything in a small way when its to bless His children! That “MEASURE” when put in the hands of God, when legs are put on it and “ACTION” is married to it! THERE IS NOTHING THAT CANNOT BE ACCOMPLISHED!
Proverbs 18:21 “There is life and death in the power of the tongue. And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
James 3:8 says the tongue is “UNRULY & FULL OF POISON!” So then how can we use it? It is “TAMED” by the “POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT” within you! You practice that “TAMING” of the Holy Spirit in your life and control that tongue that can bring “LIFE OR DEATH” in it’s fruit!
James said in James 2:20 “....FAITH without works is dead!”

Matthew 17:20 says that “FAITH” can be as small as a “MUSTARD SEED” but “POWERFUL” enough to move mountains!
But you have to “BRING IT TO HIM!”

DO YOU THINK THAT YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH?
DO YOU THINK THAT YOU ONLY HAVE A LITTLE?
DO YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING FOR GOD?
DO YOU WANT TO BE USED OF HIM?
