# 5~ ANGELS -- 1 BIBLE DOCTRINE 8-4-12
Today Lord willing we'll talk and think on "ANGELS". Let me say first of all that the angels are innumerable, there are so many that we would never be able to count them.
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, --

Revelation 5:11 and I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Angels are spiritual beings created by God to serve Him, though created higher than man. Some, the good angels, have remained obedient to Him and carry out His will, while others, fallen angels, disobeyed, fell from their holy position, and now stand in active opposition to the work and plan of God, and are servants of Satan.

At one time all the angels were Gods angels and served Him, but Satan lied to a great multitude of the angels and they believed him, he said he was going to take over Gods Throne and be like the most High, and because of Satan attempting to over throw God, he was cast out of heaven along with the angels that sided with him, they were cast to the earth, to the ground, they were already here before God created man.

Let me remind us that we're talking about the "doctrine of angels" today; I'm trying to show us that Lucifer was himself an angel, and that he led 1/3 of the angels in heaven in rebellion against God, how do we know there was 1/3 ?
Revelation 12:1- 4 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (Israel)
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
* Israel the woman was to bring forth the man child Jesus.
3And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, (Satan) having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. -- (revived Roman Empire)
4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, (1/3 of the angels in heaven) and did cast them to the earth: --- and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Notice Satan and the 1/3 of fallen angels with him were already on the earth and Satan was eager to kill the Child Jesus. -- remember that back in Gen. 3:15 God told the devil that the seed of the woman would crush his head, Satan had been watching and waiting for it to come to pass, Satan knew that what God told him would happen, he had no doubt, so him and his army of demons were waiting and watching.
The devil can only be in one place at a time, so he appoints his angels different territories to observe. Maybe next time we'll read that in Daniel.

* Listen; I want to tell you an easy way to go too the scriptures to do with the Devil.
Always remember that Isaiah is before Ezekiel, go to Isaiah 14:-- and then too Ezekiel 28: which is two times fourteen == 28. -- Isaiah then Ezekiel. There you find Lucifer-Satan.
In Isaiah 13:17-22 we're told about the future destruction of Babylon, and then in Isaiah 14:4-11 he tells of the coming destruction of Babylon's king, which may be a comprehensive picture of all the wicked Babylonian Kings.
* It would be hard to say that this is the Antichrist at the end of the Tribulation although it fits somewhat, but the Antichrist will not be cast down to hell, but be cast into the lake of fire alive along with the False Prophet in
Rev. 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Isaiah 14:4-11 is most likely to do with a Babylonian king or perhaps several of the Babylonian kings in general.

* Beginning in verse 12 of Isaiah 14: the thought changes to Lucifer, who was to be Satan, listen as I read.
12-15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, (this is the only place in the Bible that we find his name," Lucifer") son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! --
>> He has and is causing havoc on every nation of the world. -- Notice, God knows what's in his heart.
13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God (angels) I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: --where ever the sides of the north is, is where heaven is.
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Notice; we see five "I WILLS" -- "five" the number of death. -- He and his have no hope.
15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. -- Hell is DOWN.

Revelation 20:1- 3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
>> If he were not bound in the pit for 1000 years there would be no peace, this is the time of the millennial reign of Christ. 1000 years of blessed peace, how different it's going to be, but not until Jesus comes, there'll never be peace until He comes, its simple impossible.
The world leaders can say peace- peace till the cows come home but it's all a bunch of empty words.

Ezk.28:11-17 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 12Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, - (The king in back of the kingdom of Tyre is Satan)
- and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
* Satan was the wisest creature God ever created. Keep in mind that Satan is a created being, he himself is an angel, and notice too, that he was a most beautiful creature, he was PERFECT IN BEAUTY, he was created perfect in beauty, these little comical pictures we often see of him with a red suit and forked tail, and him holding a pitch fork, is far from the truth.--
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

* Let me say, that the Devil is not in hell, he's never been in hell and he's never going to hell, his next stop is the bottomless pit for the 1000 years and then he will be cast into the lake of fire at the end of the Tribulation.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever

Right now as you and I are reading and studying together, he is on this earth walking around, he is directing his demons every move.
>> 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

* Satan is in control of the affairs going on in this world, which is so plain to see, there's wickedness on every hand.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

@@ Ezek. 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: -- the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
* Notice; he's involved in music, he was music itself.
--notice also that he was created. -- Common sense will tell us that what is created can not be superior to the CREATOR.

14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so:
* Satan was the "anointed cherub that covereth" -- that is, he protected the throne of God, he was the high sheriff of heaven we could say- This is not the Eden which was on earth, but apparently is a picture of heaven itself.
>> When this started out he was not called Satan but Lucifer. -- Isaiah 14:12.

-- thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
* Lucifer's problem was PRIDE, pride got him cast out of heaven down to the earth, it bought for him a sure ticket to hell that he can not get out of, also the fallen angels that believed his lies, their on their way, there is no escape.
>> Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Ezk.28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, -- he was blessed with so much beauty and all manner of jewels, and musical talents that he became filled with pride-- and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: -- Gods Kingdom in heaven-- and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
* Jesus said in
Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
* Notice, the Son of God was there in heaven and witnessed Satan cast out, and remember this was before man was ever created.

17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, (PRIDE) thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, --

Remember we're talking about angels today; you and I today have angels watching over us.
Hebrews 1: 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? -- That's we that are saved.

Let me remind us that God created the innumerable angelic creatures in eons passed, ever before any thing else.
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

We need to be ever mindful that God has always had a great plan, He first created the angelic creatures, they were to minister to Him and carry out His will, and then when the set time rolled around He created man.
Gods angels have never sinned, Satan's angel of coarse have, they don't understand why God would save a sinner, Gods amazing grace is something that the angels are not familiar with, they've never had to be redeemed as we lost sinners, they are always watching us, their amazed at the sinful things we do, and wonder why we do these sinful things.

Angels can and have took on the appearance as people, as men, in Gen. 18: and 19: we read about two angels that God sends to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, they looked like men, the Sodomites wanted to do sinful things to these men, their called men and also angels in that chapter, maybe next week we'll say some more about these angels.
