#15~ TWELVE~ BIBLE NUMBER MEANINGS 1-28-12
If you'll remember last week I pointed out that TWELVE was one of the four perfect numbers, TWELVE is the number that denotes GOVERNMENTAL PERFECTION.
"TWELVE" is found 211 times in our KJ Bible.
Jesus said to His apostles,
Matthew 19:28 Verily, I say unto you. that ye which have followed me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of His glory, ye also shall sit upon TWELVE thrones, judging the TWELVE tribes of Israel.
The world now knows Who the Almighty Potentate is, (HIS glory)
If you'll recall in our study of Revelation, He sits on the Throne of His Glory just after the Tribulation but before the Millennium begins, this judgment determines who will enter into the 1000 year Kingdom reign as He rules, those that befriended the 144000 Jewish missionaries during the Tribulation are the sheep, they will be placed on His right, they will go into the Kingdom, they will be in their natural bodies, they will produce millions of children during this time to repopulate the earth.
The goats are the people that were not kind to these Jewish Missionaries; they will be placed on His left and cast into hell, (outer darkness).
Matthew 25: 31-32 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
Untold millions will be killed in the seven year Tribulation, but theses are the people that managed to some how survive.

This judgment will take 1290 days according to Daniel 12:11----and 45 additional days to place His judges and rulers through out His Kingdom. Dan.12:12
Dan.12:11-12 11And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. (45 more)

The 144000 true Jehovah witnesses, missionaries, will all come from among the TWELVE tribes of Israel in Rev. 7:--TWELVE thousand from each tribe.

The TWELVE Apostles will sit upon TWELVE thrones and judge and rule in connection with our Lord's rule upon His Throne of Glory. They will occupy those TWELVE thrones by DIVINE APPOINTMENT.
Luke 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the TWELVE tribes of Israel.

Jesus first recorded words in the gospel of Luke, was when they found Him in the Temple.
He was TWELVE years old.
LISTEN to this very interesting account;
Luke 2:41-48 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. 42And when he was TWELVE years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
44But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
45And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. 46And it came to pass, that after THREE (God is usually involved when we see THREE) days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
47And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. 48And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father (step father) and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? THESE ARE His 1st recorded words in LK, and it's to do with His Fathers business.
LISTEN, His last recorded words in the gospel of John are found in
John19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Jesus came to do the Fathers will, and He accomplished His mission. His Fathers business.

Genesis 17:20 states that Ishmael (Abraham's son by HAGAR the Egyptian hand maid of Sarah) begat TWELVE princes, ** (RULERS) and in Numbers 1:5-16 there are TWELVE princes named over the TWELVE tribes of Israel.

I Kings 4:7 And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals ** (food) for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.

TWELVE is found as a multiple in all that has to do with rule.
The sun which "rules" the day, and the moon and stars which "govern" the night, do so by their passage through the twelve signs of the Zodiac which completes the great circle of the heavens of 360 degrees or divisions, (12 x 30) and thus govern the year.
TWELVE is the product of THREE (the perfectly Divine and heavenly number) and FOUR is the number of the EARTH, the number of what is material and organic, of CREATION.
While seven is made up of THREE added to FOUR, TWELVE is 3 multiplied by 4, the products denoting production and multiplication and increase of all that is contained in the two numbers separately. The number FOUR is prominently seen in TWELVE.
There are TWELVE months in the year this has been DIVINELY APPOINTED. ---There are also TWELVE signs in the Zodiac, as we refer to them. --- In the Bible the ZODIAC SIGNS are called the Mazzaroth meaning "The Twelve Signs".)
The TWELVE signs of the Zodiac or Mazzaroth are mentioned in the book of Job, the oldest book in the Bible. ---God said to Job,
JOB 38:31-32 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, (a cluster of seven stars) or loose the bands of Orion? (A notable constellation) 32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth (The Twelve Signs) in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? ("Arcturus" The constellation of the Great Bear from its migration through the heavens)
33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven?
Plants do better when planted during the right Zodiac sign, vegetables that have their seeds in side do best if planted 2 days before the full moon in MAY, here in upper S.C., the moon pulls up water the same as it effects the tide. Tomatoes-squash--cucumbers--beans--peppers--etc.
Root crops just after the full moon, --potatoes--onions--carrots -- etc.
Most of the old time farmers plant by the moon signs, try it if you haven't before, you'll be amazed.
I remember back when I was just a young boy my Dad bought 28 acres from this old farmer, I say that respectfully, that is all he had ever done, there was an old field road that went out through the field and it was what divided my Dad's land and Mister Welborns land, my Dad planted a garden on a little piece of his land and one thing he planted was potatoes, well on the other side of this old road that separated the two lands Mister Welborn also had potatoes, my Dad had big pretty plants and Mister Welborn had little scrubby looking plants, but when it come time to take up the potatoes my Dad had all vines and few potatoes, Mister Welborn had small little vines but piles of potatoes, my Dad ask him why' and the wise old farmer told him that he planted on the wrong sign of the moon.
So right then I knew there was really something too when to plant things, I have never forgot that.

* THE TWELVE PATRIARCHS:
There were twelve patriarchs from (and including) Shem, the son of Noah to Jacob:
Shem-Peleg- Terah- Arphaxad- Reu- Abraham- Salah- Serug- Isaac- Heber Nahor Jacob.

* THE TWELVE SONS of JACOB:
God changed Jacobs name to Israel in Gen.32:28 and we read of it again in Gen.35:10.
We read Jacobs's son's names in Genesis 35:22-26
Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.

* Even the testimony of the stars is numerically in harmony with the Bible.
The Psalmist said, Psalm 19:1-2 The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth His handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge."

* There were TWELVE tribes of Israel to make up the nation of Israel. These come from the TWELVE sons of Israel, "JACOB"
So actually when we talk about the state of Israel we're talking about his twelve sons.

There were TWELVE stones in the High Priest's breastplate representing each tribe. (Exodus 28:17-21)

TWELVE cakes of shew bread, one loaf for each of the TWELVE tribes was to be placed in the HOLY PLACE; 1st compartment, the 2nd compartment was the HOLY OF HOLIES, in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple. (Exodus 25:23-30 and Exodus 37:10-16; Leviticus 24:5-9)--the Tabernacle was moveable, the Temple was stationary.

When the children of Israel left the land of Egypt and started toward the land of promise they came to Elim, there they found TWELVE wells of water to quench their thirst.
Exodus 15:27 And they came to Elim, where --were TWELVE wells of water, and three score and ten*"70" palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
SEVENTY is to do with Israel and her restoration.
Egypt pictures the WORLD, when we get saved and leave our worldly ways we will find refreshing WATER as we drink from the Lord.-- John 7:37 If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

The New Jerusalem has TWELVE gates, with an angel at each of the TWELVE gates, and it has TWELVE foundations, and in them the names of the TWELVE Apostles of the Lamb; also its tree bears TWELVE manner of fruits; and that it lieth four square and measures TWELVE thousand furlongs to each side, and that the height of the wall is 144 cubits, or 12 x 12, which symbolizes this truth--, that there is nothing in God's city which is not perfectly governed!

It is also significant that only TWELVE judges --who judged and GOVERNED Israel -- are recorded in the Book of "Judges." |
TWELVE is the number that comes next after ELEVEN, the number of JUDGMENT.
