#13~ TEN~ BIBLE NUMBER MEANINGS 1-14-12

~ "TEN" REPRESENTS, TESTIMONY, LAW, AND RESPONSIBILITY ~

TEN is found 248 times in our KJ Bible, TEN has been a significant number through out all ages. TEN stands for TESTIMONY-TEN stands for RESPONSIBILITY, and also O.T. LAW.

Man was RESPONSIBLE under the LAW to keep the commandments and bear a TESTIMONY for God.

In Exodus 20: 2 X 10 we find the TEN COMMANDMENTS.

And let me remind us that their not the 10 suggestions, these are the moral law for all mankind and for all ages, the only one of the ten commandments that is not found in the N.T. is the 4th commandment, (remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy), the Sabbath is all together applied to Israel and not the Church, they were under the law, we are under grace.

A lot of people go off the deep end with the 6th Commandment, "THOU SHALT NOT KILL" it would be wonderful if the murders went by this, but God set a law in place for these people back in

GEN.9:6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

* Let me say it as you and I might say it; "if any man takes another man's life, his life shall be taken by lawfully appointed men."

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood:--

The death penalty is a deterate many times, not all the time, but it will be to some. It should be the law of the land, if a person is proven to be guilty without doubt then the death penalty is the right penalty, and he should not be held in jail for 20 or 30 years, it's my opinion that if he's proven guilty without any doubt whatsoever it should be carried out in just a few days at most, maybe in that little span of time some might be saved.. If there's any doubt at all he should not be found guilty.

And let me say that God is not implying that we can not protect our family and our self.

* And let me say right here that the entire human race has been found guilty as we're all sinners, God has issued the death penalty for all lost sinners.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; --

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified (present tense, not going to be justified but BEING JUSTIFIED) by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

The word== JUST--IF--I'D== to be justified in Gods eyes is to be JUST--IF--I'D-- never sinned at all. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And for people that think they can be lost again once their saved don't understand the keeping power of God.

1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

We're the sinners, He's the Saviour, and He knows how to preserve His saints.

Psalm 37:28 For the LORD loveth judgment, ** (Justice) and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever:

I realize that, that don't have much to do with the number TEN, but maybe it will help someone to understand how man stands being lost in Gods sight, but God has made away that we can be saved if we'll only take it.

============

TEN is a combination of the number of the WORLD which is the number FOUR and SIX the number of man.

There were TEN Patriarchs before the flood, from Adam to Noah.

God gave the Ten Commandments to man for man to bear Testimony before God and man.

There were TEN Plagues upon Egypt and Pharaoh during the days of Moses, found in Exodus; 1-The Nile turned to blood- 2.Frogs- 3.Flies-4.Lice- 5.Locusts-6.Death of livestock - 7. Boils- 8. Darkness- 9.Fire & hail from the Sky-10.Death of the Firstborn.--notice; 2x5=10--five being deaths number

Abraham prayed for TEN righteous people within the wicked city of Sodom. He wanted a TESTIMONY FOR GOD.

Gen.18:32 And he said, (Abraham) Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure** (what if-suppose) ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

In the parable of the TEN virgins, it gives the legal number necessary for a Jewish function or wedding.

Matt.25:1-2 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

We have the TEN servants to whom were entrusted TEN pounds and one was rewarded by being given authority over TEN cities. **** What we do now--

Luke 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

TEN powers become powerless against the LOVE OF GOD.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that (1) neither death, (2) nor life, (3) nor angels, (4) nor principalities, (5) nor powers, (6) nor things present, (7) nor things to come, (8) nor height, (9) nor depth, (10) nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

TEN vices are to be excluded from the Kingdom of God are listed in

I Corinthians 6:9-10 (1) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, (2) nor idolaters, (3) nor adulterers, (4) nor effeminate (5) nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (6) nor thieves, (7) nor covetous, (8) nor drunkards, (9) nor revilers, (10) nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

The Tithe is a TENTH of our earnings that we should gladly give to the Lords work, although we're not commanded to do so as was the case in the Old Testament, as they were under the law.

In the Old Testament they were commanded in

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse--the TITHE was what sustained the Levites as they carried out the business as Priest to the other tribes, their job was altogether the care of the Tabernacle, and later the Temple.

The Tithe is our TESTIMONY of faith unto the Lord; we are not under the LAW, but under grace;

1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him,

According to this, there are many people that could very well give more than a TENTH, and many do, Unfortunately there are many Christians even church members that don't give anything, evidently they seem to think that the lights and water magically come on by them selves, and the up keep of the church house takes care of it's self, and that the missionaries the church supports are not important.

A lot of Pastors won't say this to their people afraid they'll offend some one, so they all appointed me to say it.

TEN times we read in Genesis 1: "GOD SAID" Here we have the TESTIMONY from the Lord concerning His Creation, and Power.

-----------------

TEN Psalms begin with the word "PRAISE" Psalms 106, 111, 112, 113, 135, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150- Here the Psalmist is giving his TESTIMONY of Praise unto the Lord.

A TEN-kingdom confederation is the last phase of human sovereignty upon this earth. This will take place during the TRIBULATION PERIOD. (Daniel 2: and 7: and in Revelation 13: and 17 :)

* Why was a lamb taken on the TENTH day of the month?

To reveal Christ who was to be made under the Law, so He could redeem those who are under the Law so that we could bear testimony for Him?

In Galatians 4:4-5 we read;

4But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

This shows Christ, made under the Law, fulfilling the Law, and redeeming His people from the Law, so that they can testify of His offering for their sins.

In Exodus 12:3, the Passover lamb is connected with the number TEN.

Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, in the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

This points out that the Passover lamb was typical of Christ.

I Corinthians 5:7, we read For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:

So the lamb was taken up on the TENTH day, as we're told in Exodus 12- 3.

This was the identical day that Christ made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on His way to the Cross. Here is RESPONSIBILITY and TESTIMONY.

The boards of the Tabernacle were TEN cubits long. There were TEN linen curtains over the top, and TEN pillars on the west side of the court.

Exodus 26:1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, (heavenly color) and purple, (royalty) and scarlet: (red, blood) with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

Vs.16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board,

Vss. 26-27 And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle, And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle,

Paul said, Romans 4:15 -"The Law worketh WRATH."

In Galatians 5:19-21 Paul lists the works of the flesh, The TENTH one in the list is WRATH.

19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; (1) Adultery, (2) fornication,

(3) uncleanness, (4) lasciviousness, **[filthy, lustful wantonness] (5) 20Idolatry, (6) witchcraft, (7) hatred, (8) variance, **[ contentions] (9) emulations,** [ jealousies] (10) wrath, strife, seditions,** [divisions] heresies,**[ a religious belief opposed to the doctrines of the Bible] 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings,**[rioting] and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
