Judges 16:4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
Sampson had a strong love for Delilah but it seems she did not have love for him.
There is a great analogy here between Sampson and Delilah and the church or saint of God and the world.
Delilah was a philistine woman, she was a whorish woman.
She would be a type and shadow of the world…
Sampson was a man used by God, a judge of Israel and a man that was called to be Holy from his birth.
If you fall to Delilah's charm even though it may appear beautiful and fulfill and satisfy your lusts and desires you will come to a place that is dangerous.
Job 9:4 He (GOD) is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
Delilah will try to entice you and woo you to fall asleep in her lap but what dangers lie ahead..
Proverbs 6:26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
o AMP Proverbs 6:26 For on account of a harlot a man is brought to a piece of bread, and the adulteress stalks and snares [as with a hook] the precious life [of a man].
Proverbs 7:26-27 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. (27) Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
Proverbs 9:17-18 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. (18) But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
If you lay your head in Delilah's lap it will be bring destruction.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
As you lay your head in Delilah’s lap her seduction will try to win you and pull you from your strength.i.e. "If you play with fire long enough you will get burnt."
Judges 16:6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
Judges 16:10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.
Judges 16:13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.
Judges 16:16-17 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; (17) That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
4 times she pulled and finally won and Sampson was a fallen man. Maybe he thought within him I can’t fall, I feel God, I am used of God but what a danger.
2nd Chronicles 29-32 tells the story of King Hezekiah Look what he did. He fought and won against the Philistines. He repaired and cleansed the house of God, restores the word, worship, sacrifices and the Passover. He destroys the altars in the high Places cuts the groves down. He reestablishes the tithe for the ministry. By his prayers God destroyed the Assyrian army. After his healing Babylon comes to him
2 Kings 20:12-13 At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick. (13) And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
Hezekiah lays his head in Delilah’s lap.
2 Chronicles 32:25-26 But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem. (26) Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
Sampson lost his sight but even though he laid in Delilah’s lap mercy was shown to him.
Judges 16:28-30 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. (29) And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. (30) And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
How many times has God showed mercy, it is time to get out of Delilah’s lap. We can not compromise the word what we stand for what we believe for Delilah. We can not love the world and love God. We are either for Jesus or we are not.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
You may say I can handle it, I say you can’t because this spirit is seductive and powerful and unless you are prayed up you will be layed up. Let the church say AMEN!
John 12:35-36 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. (36) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
