Rev. #67~19:11-14 THE GLORIOUS RETURN OF THE LORD JESUS 8-21-10

Today we’re going to talk about the event that the whole creation has been waiting for, the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this very earth. From the very 1st verse of Genesis unto verse 11 of the Revelation where we’re at today, has all been centered on this wonderful and precious event.

If Jesus was not going to return like the Bible has said, every soul that’s has ever lived would be damned, but Jesus is alive and well.

In the oldest book of the Bible, I’m not talking about the Genesis account, but the oldest writing, which is Job; we read what brother Job had to say.

Job 19:23-27 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! 24That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever! 25For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: 26And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: 27Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another,--

Job said he was not looking for another Saviour, he’s looking for the same One.

Acts 1:9-11 9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Listen as I read verse 11.

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

When Jesus returns to earth the 2nd time, He comes on a white horse. In Old Biblical times, especially among the Israelis, most soldiers were foot soldiers. To have a horse in battle was a significant advantage. A horse spoke of honor, of power, and of speed; the color of this WHITE horse speaks of victory.

Let me say that before there was ever the earth the God Head had this all planned, God don’t do any thing from one day unto the next, He is a God of order, I like to picture Him as having a gigantic Prophetic calendar and every little detail is included on it, and its up to date, its right on time.

He has a plan and program for this earth, and His plan is unfolding with each passing moment. And here in verse 11 the part of His program where the Lord Jesus returns to the earth at the end of the Great Tribulation period, right before the establishment of His Kingdom has come to pass.

Here in verse 11 John sees heaven open, John saw a door open to heaven back in 4:1 to do with the rapture. Here John sees the Lord as the victorious White Horse Rider who comes out of heaven and who is also King of kings and Lord of lords.

This white horse is not that of 6:2, that is the Antichrist, and the antichrist, there in 6:2 is said to have on his head a crown, and it was given to him by the earth dwellers, meaning, they make him world leader, he don’t deserve this crown, but it’s given to him.

Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

And he does it with enticing words, he has a bow but no arrows.

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Here the True Messiah returns in victorious conquest. He is Faithful & True to His Word and His promises. He will fulfill the two-fold role of judge and warrior. His judgment of the earth will be totally righteous.

Ps. 96:10-13--- he shall judge the people righteously. 11Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof 12Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice 13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

A great symphony of nature will joyfully shout the praises of the Creator God, Let the sea roar … Let the field be joyful … then shall all the trees of the woods rejoice before the LORD. In that day all the earth shall rejoice, for he cometh to judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Spurgeon said-His eyes were like a flame of fire: "Why are they like flames of fire? First to discern the secrets of all hearts. There are no secrets here that Christ does not see.

There is no lewd thought; there is no unbelieving skepticism that Christ does not read.

There is no hypocrisy, no formalism, and no deceit that he does not scan as easily as a man reads a page in a book. His eyes are like a flame of fire to read us through and through, and know us to our inmost soul."

His eyes were as a flame of fire indicates penetrating scrutinizing omniscience.(all knowing)

And on His Precious Head, once crowned at Calvary with thrones for sinful men, were many crowns. This means that His is supreme authority. Saints have crowns before we cast them at His feet, but He has many crowns.

He has a name that no one knows--This is all inclusively true, a name that is not revealed; it is not simply a name no one knows the significance of, but one no one knows at all.

The apostle Paul said at the end of his ministry before his execution;

Phil. 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.

Often times here in our journey of life we might say that we know SO & SO, but know one can say that they truly know the Lord Jesus, we like to think that we do, but we don’t really know Him as we will when we get to heaven, He is so wonderful that we’ll continually be learning of Him.

Isaiah 9:6-- and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.—what ever this secret name is will be called WONDERFUL.

----------------------------------------

13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

The Lord Jesus is not coming at this time as the Redeemer, He is not here to save, but to judge. The judgment of Christ will be exercised to the full.

II Thess 1:7–10 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Let me say that this blood that’s sprinkled on His garments is not His, but His enemies as He is coming from Bozrah on His way to Armageddon to destroy the rest.

Isaiah 63:1-4 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

2Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?

3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. 4For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.—eleven times we see the reference to Him personally, as it is Him that’s speaking.

Ps. 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Think of me or you picking up a clay cup or pot and slam it to the ground, it would burst into a thousand little pieces, that is the picture we get here, they will be helpless as He pours out His wrath.

Ps. 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

These little armies of the world are nothing to Him; He’ll laugh as they try to battle with Him.

Proverbs 1:26- I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

This world has seen the meek Lamb of God for the last time, the next time He returns as we are reading here today, He is revealed as;-- The Lion of the tribe of Judah.

Joel 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake:--

Ø Listen; when Jesus returns He will come first to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, that is the place of His accession when He went back to the Father, it was prophesied by the two angels there in acts 1: that this is the location of His return.

Acts 1:9-11 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

But as His feet touch the spot that He left from the mountain will split in half in evidence of His power and authority. The Mount of Olives today has two high points, and what seems to be a natural division between them will be transformed into a great valley stretching toward the east from Jerusalem and extending down to Jericho at the Jordan River.

Zechariah 14: 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

The plea of Isaiah 64:1-2 will then be fulfilled:

1Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, 2As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

This prayer for deliverance will be on the lips of the Jewish people surviving through the Great Tribulation. Unlikely as it may seem now, they will cry out to Jesus their Messiah for deliverance, and they will gladly embrace Him as their Savior.

As Jesus said in Matthew 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

---WORD—here in the Greek means “LOGOS” and shows that He is the full expression (as a word is of the thought in the mind) of God, but now in judgment.

14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Who are the armies? … upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean?

It’s probable that they are, the church, along with the Tribulation saints, and the Old Testament saints. And this would fulfill;

Jude 14–15 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
