Rev.# 60~18:1-3 POLITICAL & COMMERCIAL BABYLON DESTROYED 6-26-10
Babylon was not only an ancient city and a powerful empire, but also the symbol of mankind’s rebellion against God. Here in chapter 18: Babylon represents the world economic system of the beast. –The antichrist--
This economic system is a worldwide system; it’s to do with wealth and commerce.
Babylon emphasized in this chapter is commerce on a worldwide scale, i.e., international or multinational organizations. Business minded people that invest money in stocks watch the stock markets world wide.-- Babylon represents the world economic system.
I think personally that we are at this present time seeing the beginning of this great collapse especially in our country, many people are without jobs and losing their homes, people have committed suicide because of the stress. It appears that our nation is in the biggest economic crisis of its history, and the national debt just continues to pile up day by day.
I believe that God has placed Obama in the white house to continue on with the mass debt that he has had a big hand in causing with the help of our weak congress.—“yes we can !”--
Daniel 2:21 And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings:
He places world leaders in place to accomplish His will and purpose, and many times He even protects them in order for them to continue on. Gods plan will come to pass exactly as He said.
Isaiah 46:9-10--- I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

John calls Babylon a city about 8 times, but the Bible makes it clear that old Babylon will never be rebuilt, and so that is settled for time and eternity. Many Bible scholars say it will, but the Old Babylon will never be rebuilt.
Jer. 51:37 And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.
v-43-- a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.
Jer. 51:62 says, "It shall be desolate forever," and v. 64 adds, "shall Babylon sink, and shall
not rise."
This is an utter fall, which is never again salvaged or rescued. It was taken by the Persians in 539 BC and now lies desolate as it has for centuries. The destruction of old Babylon has been fulfilled; it has been waste for centuries; and according to Gods word it shall not be rebuilt.
And so if there’s to be another city referred to as Babylon it will be somewhere else, it could possibly be Rome, because Peter in his 1st epistle wrote from Rome and he called it Babylon.
1st pet.5:13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you;---- Rome (which here has the symbolic name of Babylon)

In our study of chapter 17: we saw that Babylon the Great religious system was destroyed. There the manifestation of Babylon the Great was the great false one world church, which was destroyed by the ten kings of the R.R.E.and the Antichrist.
The woman who is destroyed in chapter 17 is made desolate, naked, and burned with fire by the beast with the ten horns.
The destruction of the harlot in chapter 17 is the fall of Babylon in its ecclesiastical or religious sense and that it probably occurs when the antichrist assumes the role of god at the mid way point or there about of the 7 years.
The world church is destroyed in favor of a world religion honoring the political dictator,
And now that this is done, Antichrist can be worshipped as god without sharing the hearts of men with the false church. So the world has a false god to worship.
The wealth originally collected through the influence of the apostate church is taken over by the political system in the great tribulation,** (the great tribulation is the last half of the 7 year tribulation) which with universal political power is able to exploit to the full its accumulation of wealth.

In Chapter 18 we see another manifestation of Babylon the Great. Remember that Babylon the Great is not only a one world church system but also a city.
It appears that the Vatican there in Rome today will be the headquarters of this woman the great harlot, where she sits as the religious systems authority for the 1st half of the 7 years, but as we’re told here in
chapter 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
So she will be destroyed and burned with fire by the 10 horns, which are the 10 nations that will originally make up the R.R.E.
Since Old Rome will be destroyed by fire at the mid way of the tribulation the Antichrist will move his Headquarters to Jerusalem for the remainder of the 7 years, lets realize that at this time he will go into the Temple of God set up an imagine of himself and demand that all worship him, this is when he declares him self to be god, that was what Paul was telling about in 2nd Thess. Chapter 2.
It’s not likely that the great sinful and commercial city is Rome because Rome is burn up.
What city of the world might it be, the Great city Babylon which is to do with buying selling and trading?
Some say it could possibly be N.Y. right here in our nation, N.Y. has a seaport, many ships come and go there, Rome does not have a seaport.
Lets remember the religious system was a worldwide religion, (many waters in chapter 17:15}
In chapter 17 the antichrist and his allies in politico-commercial Babylon destroy religious Babylon, or apostate Christendom.
Today there are a multitude of worldwide organizations already devoted to the concept of antichrist and is also already speaking of the overthrow of the present religious systems including Judaism, Roman Catholicism, and Protestantism. But in this chapter it is God who overthrows commercial Babylon.
There’s many schools today that will not allow pray before their ball games, and you had better not end your prays in public in JESUS NAME, some infidel might not like it, the wicked ACLU brings law suites against people if they dare offend some infidel.
Today our nation is a nation made up of all kinds of religions, Obama said on nation wide T.V. that America was no longer a Christian nation, Iran and other countries are set on destroying Israel while our President among others turns their back on Gods chosen people, and I fear what God might send our way on account of such as this.
Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

17: deals with the religious aspect and chapter 18 with the political and economic aspects of Babylon.
This great city {COMMERCIAL BABYLON) will also be destroyed, but not by the ten kings. God Himself will quickly abolish it by an earthquake and fire toward the end of the tribulation.
Lets notice, it’s the 7th and last bowl judgment, the most horrific of all that destroys her.–
16:17-19 And the seventh angel** poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. 19And the great city was divided into three parts,**(we believe this to be Jerusalem, 11:8 And their dead bodies**(M & E) shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. {Jerusalem} --
--- and the cities of the nations fell:**(Notice commercial Babylon is falling) and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. This is a worldwide earthquake; there has never been one like it before nor will there ever be another so destructive.
Babylon along with the cities that are the centers for this worldwide network of political, commercial activity will evidently burn up in the great earthquake. She will collapse suddenly, not decline gradually.
As religious Babylon included all forms of religion (non-Christian as well as so called Christian religions), also economic Babylon includes all types of economies (capitalism, socialism, communism, etc.) the riches of the world, no nation will escape.
Self-interest is at the root of this system. Whereas believers have always lived within this system, we have always known that we must not adopt the philosophy that drives it, namely, selfishness.
This system has become so much a part of life that it’s hard for us to imagine life without it, I mean if one of our 3 vehicles air conditioner goes out we think the tribulation has started, this country for the most part has really never experience major hardship like some other countries of the world, and many of our citizens have largely lived beyond our means, credit cards has ruined a-many a family, some time they do what is known as declaring bank rupcey, but now that things are becoming worse because of the crisis of having no jobs we find our selves in a bigger mess.
Because of our government doing things such as giving our jobs to foreign countries our plants are shut down and there’s less jobs, a lot of people might frown on the cotton mill idea, but all my grand parents and my parents as well as my self and my son worked in the mill about all our lives and now most 0f our cotton mill jobs are gone, a lot of our jobs went to China and our Government borrows money from these countries, they have become rich thanks to our becoming jobless, we also owe Japan who today I consider one of our allies, but these other countries will stop loaning our government money when they see they’ll never be paid back.
And the jobs that have come are not enough, I ride by mills all the time that sits idol and people that worked there are having to draw their unemployment that now has been stopped for a couple of months because our congress have not voted to restart it, if yours has not been stopped yet just hold on its on its way unless the money printing machines are speeded up and congress votes it in again.
It’s no wonder people become desperate and often get into some time of illegal business trying to survive while our Senators vote to give them selves a raise.
Listen—all of this must come in order that the mark of the beast will be administered, I mean if things were going great financially there’d be no need for the mark in order to buy sell and trade.
Have you noticed; more and more women being voted into our government, thinking they’ll surely do better?

Economic Babylon will end when Jesus Christ returns at His second coming, and it will exist no longer.
These souls here in 6:9-11 are not lost souls crying out for revenge on their persecutors, notice-
White robes were given to each. This indicates they are justified and accepted by God.
11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
Then they are told that they are to rest a short while longer until their fellow servants also and their brethren of the last part of the Tribulation Period will have been slain.
In grace, God desires the witnesses of other martyrs to be added to these O.T. Martyred saints already given; therefore to be Included with these are those who will be slain in the Great Tribulation period.
The Tribulation saints are to be included with the Old Testament saints in the second part of the 1st resurrection that we read about in,
Rev. 20:4 (O.T.) And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: )----
