Rev. #59~17:11-18—pt.4 ~ THE GREAT HARLOT 6-19-10
In these verses we’re told about the Antichrist, I’m going to read to you from Daniel 11:36-38, Daniel is also telling about this man over 500 years before John, and their telling about the same man, the same period of time in their prophecies.
36And the king shall do according to his will; ---
Antichrist will be sold on himself, he demands that his will be done, he is self-willed. The very opposite of the True Christ who said,
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me” .
36b--and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, --
He shall magnify himself above all. Paul declared that the Antichrist would enter into the Jewish Temple and declares himself to be God, this will happen about the mid way point of the 7 year tribulation.
II Thess 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
And in Revelation 13:8 we are also told: “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
36c --and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods,--
He will become the enemy. Antichrist will lead a rebellion against God and His Christ.
Ps. 2:2–3 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us”
36d--and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: --
The willful king will be successful for a brief time. God will permit these things to come to pass during the last half of Daniel’s Seventieth Week.
36e-- for that that is determined shall be done.
What does “for that that is determined shall be done, mean? It simple means that what so ever God has already declared would come to pass would come exactly as He has already declared that it would, nothing can change or alter His forever settled Word, and so all these terrible things that we’re reading about must occur.
He will come to his end as Christ Himself returns from heaven and casts both the Antichrist and the false prophet into the lake of fire, and they are alive as this happens, their the 1st to go into the lake of fire as for as we can tell.
Rev 19: 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
There’s much in verse 36 of Daniel 11:

37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers,
We believe that the same spirit that indwelt Judas Iscariot will in dwell the Antichrist, that it will be Judas brought back from his own place at a particular time and be used as the Antichrist. Acts 1:25
And we believe that Judas was a Jew, he came from the town of Kerioth, this is where he gets the name “ Is-cariot” from his home town of “Kerioth”
1. A town in the south of Judea (Joshua 15:25). Judas Iscariot was probably a native of this place, and hence his name Iscariot.

John 6:70 Jesus answers them Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a Devil?
In the Greek there are two different words for "Devil" and "demon". There are many demons, but only one Devil. In no other passage is the word "devil" applied to any one but to Satan himself. Judas then was the Devil incarnate, just as the Lord Jesus was God incarnate. Christ Himself said Judas is devil.
The Antichrist will be Judas Iscariot reincarnated.
In Acts 1:25 we’re told, "that he may take part of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place". Of no one else in the entire Bible is it said that at death he went "to his own place".
Put these two scriptures together: Judas went "to his own place", the Beast ascends out of the Abyss.
Satan “entered into Judas” to commit the wicked deed of betrayal
Luke 22:3 Then Satan entered into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve”
John 13:21 27 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. 23Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. –JOHN--
24Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
25He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? 26Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
JUDAS IS REFERRED TO AS “Judas Isacriot” in the same way that Mary Magdalene is.
Mary was from the town called “MAGDALA” thus Mary Magadalene.
There are 6 different MARY’S in the Bible, so Mary of Magdala identifies whice Mary is presented.
Matthew 15:39 And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.

Now then lets get our mind back on
Daniel 11:37b.--- to do with the Antichrist:
--nor the desire of women, This refers evidently to the desire of Hebrew women to be the mother of the Messiah, who the Jews were still looking for.

37c--nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
People are all involved in idol worship, worshipping all manner of gods, but this man of sin regards none of them, he’ll require that every body worship him at this time.
38But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
The god of military might and force.

Ø BACK TO revelation 17:11
11And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Verse 11 informs us this beast which was, is not, and would come again actually becomes an eighth kingdom;[or king] he is one of the seven and will go into destruction.
--He will be killed and then brought back from the dead and this way he is the 8th, he was previously of the 7.
In prophecy, at times it’s difficult to distinguish between the kingdom (governmental system) and the king.
One verse will speak of the kingdom and the very next verse switches to the king. Such is the case here. The beast is sometimes the empire and then sometimes the Satan-controlled man.

12And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
The ten horns become the Ten Nation Confederation of nations that will join together, referred to here as ten kings.
These are nations, which were once a part of the old Roman empires, the same territories.
Some time before the Tribulation, these European nations will begin seeking a way to confederate together for political, military and commercial reasons.—we already know about the “EURO”, the new money of Europe.

v-12-- which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
v-13--They receive authority for a very short time, but then they shall give their power and strength unto the beast. It will appear that the beast will rise up from one of the ten nations to take control and become the head of this confederation, but 1st he had to rise up out of the bottomless pit, we have already read many references to this fact, from his own place, never forget, the devil is the deceiver.

14These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings:*** and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
We believe these are the church that’s come back with Him, the tribulation Martyred saints as well as the O.T. saints are raised in chapter 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: O.T. SAINTS---- here are the Martyred saints of the tribulation --and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. —The tribulation saints that were not martyred are already on the earth when Jesus returns, notice they are not part of the church, the church is one body, they are raptured back in chapter 4.
We’ll talk about the parts of the redeemed in chapter 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:

15And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. The waters are peoples through out the world.
16And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Under the direction of the Antichrist the 10 kings will turn on the great harlot and destroy her, the antichrist is finished using her to accomplish his purposes and now demands all to worship him, he wants no religious organization around as competition.
Ø The divine judgment inflicted follows a pattern and principle.
Ancient Babylon was used to bring affliction upon the people of Israel as were Assyria and Egypt, but eventually these same nations that God used were them selves the objects of judgment because they did not act for God, but for themselves.

17For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Verse 17 God uses the blasphemous actions of world religions and governments to fulfill His own purposes. He uses the wicked to destroy its self.
The plan of the age’s shows that God permits the increasing of wickedness until the cup of iniquity overflows, then judgment comes.
“God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his own purposes, although they don’t know it.
18And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Brother J. Hampton Keathley 3rd says; “the woman can be identified by the great city in which the final form of Babylonianism will reside. At the present time this appears to be Rome, for this is where Babylonianism today has its headquarters though that is not the emphasis here in this chapter.
Yet it is the great city, the mother city, the archetype of the evil Babylonian system that has been opposed to God throughout history.”

Anyone reading the New Testament can see clearly that the Holy Spirit pictures the church of the last days will be corrupt and degenerate. There will be progressive unbelief and apostasy.
The Apostle Paul wrote, (1 Timothy 4-1). "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils
(2 Timothy 3:1). "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come"
Men are described as (2 Timothy 3:5). "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away"
The Apostle Peter wrote, (2 Peter 2:1-2)_"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of"
When the Lord Jesus Christ appears in the air, He will catch away, to be with Him, every true believer that truly has been born again, they are the ones that make up the Lords true Church, which is His Body.
All who have not been born again, although they might be in some church or religious system, will be left on earth to go into the Great Tribulation and will experience the wrath of God.
The great harlot in Revelation 17 is that religious system, she’ll be worldwide in scope.
There are many people within Christendom that have professed to know Christ and have many times mentioned Him, but in personal experience they are strangers to His saving grace.
This great harlot may claim to be the Bride of Christ, but she proves to be an adulteress who is un faithful to Him.---spiritual adultery.
We believe the great harlot church will be made up of all kind of religions, but religion is not salvation.
The great harlot is called, "the mother of harlots” here in this chapter so this reveals that numerous and varied religions have sprang from her, she has her origin away back in Ge.10:10
Since she is the mother of harlots, her origin must be traced back beyond Romanism, for there was no pope before the fourth century, although the principles of Babylonianism is truly found within the Roman Catholic Church; we believe she’ll head up this religious system.
