The 1000 Year Reign of Christ
Text: Rev 20:4
4And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for £a thousand years.
Introduction:
The Time is near the end of the 7th year of the Tribulation
The Church has been Raptured almost 7 years ago.
In Heaven-Believers have stood before the Judgment seat of Christ
And judged for their rewards for faithful living for Christ
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb has taken place in heaven.
There is Joy-unfeatered JOY of the Church and Old Testament Company
There has been the meetings with Christ and with God the Father
The Rapture taking place on earth.
Anti-Christ has made his entrance—at first as a Charismatic figure with answers (seemingly) to the worlds problems
Anti-chirst make a peace pact with the Jews and Arabs-Palestinians
The 144,000 Jewish young men are sealed with the seal of God on their foreheads—are allowed freedom to preach the gospel world wide.
Rev 7:4, “4And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God—144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel:” (NLT)
Then in Rev. Chapter 7:9 we see the results of the ministry of the 144,000
9After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb,And then the angel tells John who these are he says, they
Rev 7:14, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb
AntiChrist allows temple to be re-built
Jews & the World proclaim him Christ—
Then the abomination of desolation –
Daniel 9:2727Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds,£ he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration,£ until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.” NJH-NLT)
Some think that the object will be a pig-Given the Jew views toward The animal, it may be true.
The 2 Witnesses are loosed in Rev. 11:3 (NKJ) 3And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
These 2 men then minister from mid-trib on to 3 days before Jesus and the Church appear to fight the Battle of Armageddom
In Rev 11:5, 6 5And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. 6These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.
8And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also £our Lord was crucified. 9Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations £will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. 10And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
11Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 12And £they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.
¼ of the World’s pop has been slaughtered and then ½ of the worlds pop will be killed.
The glorious appearing of Jesus Christ will take place, for the purpose of setting up His Kingdom.
- Heaven will open and Christ will appear on a white horse, (Rev 19:11)
- Christ will be followed by the armies of Heaven (Rev 19:14),
- Christ will stand on the Mount of Olives 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives (Zech 14:3-5)
- The beast and his armies will confront Christ
(Rev 19:19) 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
- Christ will cast the beast and the false prophet into the lake of fire
(Rev 19:20) And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
- Christ’s rejecters will be killed
(Rev 19:21) 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. (Zech 14:12-13)12And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem:
Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths. 13It shall come to pass in that day That a great panic from the LORD will be among them.
- Satan will be chained and locked in the bottomless pit for 1000 years (Rev 20:1-3)
- The Tribulation saints will be resurrected (Rev 20:4) 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
- Christ will judge the nations and establish what we are going to talk about today--- the Millennium.Matt 25:31-33;46
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
[Verse46] 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
What Is The Millennium Going To Be Like:
There will be a 75 day interval according to Dan 12:11-12 which says, “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1335 days.”
- The reason for this 75 day interval before the reign of Christ starts is two fold:
1. To cleanse the Temple
2. To judge the Nations.
The 75 day interval is a time of preparation for the kingdom.
I believe the Lord will take the time to prepare the world for the Millennial Kingdom.
- Christ will judge the nations and establish what we are going to talk about today--- the Millennium. (Matt 25:31-33;46)
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
[Verse46] 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Those who survive to the end of the Tribulation and aren’t cast into the lake of fire by Christ will be the ones who enter the Tribulation.
All Believers no unbelievers will enter the Millennium.
During the 75 day interval, the nations of the world will be judged.
- There are 3 different groups of people, which are:
a. The Unsaved followers of the Anti Christ.
b. The Believers
c. The Brethren whom the believers befriend. (Jews)
I believe these brethren are the Jews who go into the Millennium as believers.
- Please keep in mind only believers are permitted to go into the Millennium Kingdom.
- Many Jewish people will turn to Christ after the Anti Christ desecrates the Temple in Jerusalem. (Matt 24:15-22)(NKJ)
15“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’£ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16“then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
- The Jews will become disillusioned and will turn to their Messiah and flee to the wilderness of Petra, where God will protect and preserve them..
- Now after the 75 day interval is complete, the world goes from man controlled to God controlled.
- The world now is ruled by a Theocracy, meaning God is in charge.
- It will be a time of peace and prosperity for the righteous followers of God under the rule of Jesus Christ.
- Zech 14:9 says, “The Lord will be King over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one.”
Some Points Concerning The Millennium:
- The Adamic curse will be rolled back
- The curse is not completely removed because some people will
rebel when satan is let out of prison.
- Every man will have a choice-Jesus Christ or satan.
a. The lion will lie down with the lamb
-Leopard will lie down with the young goat
-The calf- yearling-- with the lion, a little child will lead them
-The cow will graze near the bear.
-The lion will eat hay like a cow.
-The baby will play safely near the hole of a cobra.
-a child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm.
-Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain,
- Isa 11:6-7 (NLT)
b. Environmental Transformation – Isa 35:1-6 (NKJ)
the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
5Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.
9No lion shall be there,
Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it;
It shall not be found there.
But the redeemed shall walk there,
10And the ransomed of the LORD shall return,
And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness,
And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
c. Physical condition will drastically change for the better.
- People will live much longer, and many physical diseases will be eliminated
- Isa 33:24 says, “No one living in Zion will say, ‘I am ill’, and the sins of those who dwell there will be forgiven.”
- The absence of sickness and deformity, along with increased life spans will all be a part of the Millennial Kingdom.
- People will enjoy prosperity as poverty, injustice and disease cease. (Jer 31:12-13) 12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
- Life will go on for the ones who usher in the Millennium.
- I personally believe the ones who have survived the Tribulation period and didn’t accept the mark of beast will still have to do daily jobs, driving cars, taking planes and living in homes.
- It will be much like we see it now, but with God ruling and reigning.
- (Read Isaiah 65:18-25)
18Be glad; rejoice forever in my creation!
And look! I will create Jerusalem as a place of happiness.
Her people will be a source of joy. 19I will rejoice over Jerusalem
and delight in my people. And the sound of weeping and crying
will be heard in it no more. 20“No longer will babies die when only a few days old. No longer will adults die before they have lived a full life. No longer will people be considered old at one hundred!
Only the cursed will die that young! 21In those days people will live in the houses they build and eat the fruit of their own vineyards.
22Unlike the past, invaders will not take their houses and confiscate their vineyards. For my people will live as long as trees, and my chosen ones will have time to enjoy their hard-won gains.
23They will not work in vain, and their children will not be doomed to misfortune. For they are people blessed by the LORD, and their children, too, will be blessed. 24I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!
At the END OF THE 1000 YEARS!!
Satan will be loosed for a short season or time Rev 20:7-10
Will go through out the earth deceiving people
Gathers them (numerous compay of people) to surround the city of Jerusalem
God send fire from heaven and destroys them
The devil that deceived them is now cast into the Lake of fire when the anti-christ and false prophet are
—There they will be forever and forever!!
Then we have the Great White Throne Judgment
Revelation 20:12-15
I saw the dead small and great stand before God—Judged for their sins—They are cast into the Lake of Fire
