“I CAN”
INTRODUCTION:
I like a person with an “I CAN DO ATTITUDE!” Even when you know they “CAN’T DO IT” you still gotta love somebody with an “I CAN DO ATTITUDE!” “I CAN DO ATTITUDES” get things done even when it looks like it can’t get done. “I CAN DO ATTITUDES” find a way to do things when others give up or quit! “I CAN DO ATTITUDES” look not at the moment but at the “NEXT MOMENT!”
Throughout all scripture we read where we see people with “I CAN DO ATTITUDES!” who got things done! They were always to a person just regular people whom God called out of the “MOMENT” into a
“SUPERNATURAL MOMENT!” A “SUPERNATURAL MOMENT!” that changed their lives, lives of those around them, changed the world and even the FUTURE!
“Well, come on now! That was then! This is now!” Absolutely! You’re right! But what makes “THEN & NOW” Unique! YOU GUESSED IT! THE SAME GOD! THE SAME PURPOSE! THE SAME REASON! THE SAME OUTCOME! THE SAME RESULTS! SEE HOW SMART YOU ARE?!?!
YOU + GOD = THE SAME RESULTS FOUND THROUGHOUT THE BIBLE! But understand one thing! YOU GOTTA HAVE AN “I CAN DO ATTITUDE!”
We’ve started an outreach ministry here, Effectove Evangelism Training with Teddy Levron. here in the church! I’ve been excited with the turn out on Wednesday evenings. I’ve been most excited about the people who’ve come out for these training sessions as I’ve watched them getting excited about what God is GOING TO DO HERE!
YOU SEE! I’VE SEEN A “I CAN DO ATTITUDE!” SWELLING UP WITHIN THEM! I’VE GOT ONE OF THEM CALLING ME ASKING ME “WHAT CAN I DO AROUND THE CHURCH!”
FOLK, WHEN PASTORS DREAM,
THAT IS WHAT THEY DREAM ABOUT!
There’s an excitement about being about the Father’s Business that is contagious and I hope you’re sitting next to an “INFECTED PERSON!” I WANT EACH OF YOU TO “GET INFECTED” WITH “GOD’S CAN DO SPIRIT & ATTITUDE” THE WAY THOSE ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS ARE!
WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT “YOU CAN DO” THEN YOU BECOME A “CAN DOER!”
James 1:22 tells us...
“But be DOERS of the Word and not hearers only...”
I know! Some of you are sitting out there saying, “I KNOW THAT ALREADY!” Understand what the passage I just read is saying to “ALL OF US!”
Listen to what James says in this passage! You all know the first part of the passage but listen to the last part of the passage, which seems to be the most important part for the church! For there are plenty who know the word but aren’t the “DOERS” they should be!
James 1:22 tells us...
“But be DOERS of the Word and not hearers only deceiving yourselves.”
Folk, if we are hearers only of the word sitting with pompous attitudes about the word and “DOING NOTHING” then we are DECEIVERS OF THE WORST KIND! “SELF DECEIVERS!” THOSE ARE THE KIND THAT KEEP THE KINGDOM FROM MOVING FORWARD! THEY KEEP THE KINGDOM FROM ACCOMPLISHING THROUGH THE LOCAL CHURCH THE WAY THE LOCAL CHURCH IS SUPPOSED, TO NOT TO MENTION THE INDIVIDUAL!
FOLK, WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE AN “I CAN DO ATTITUDE!” THAT KEEPS US MOVING FORWARD, MOVING ONWARD, ACTING LIKE THE SONG SAYS...

GOING ON BEFORE....
I haven’t even gotten to my main scripture yet! We’ve been learning a unique way of reaching others for Jesus! We’ve learned how to touch people in the most precious of ways! We’ve learned to reach to their heart and pray with and for them!
Folk, you won’t grow a church without touching people!
It’s a passage of scripture we all know & quote often but how many of us really take it to “HEART” ourselves so much so we practice what it says & do what it means!
"I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME!”
Philippians 3:14
It’s going to be rather basic & simple this morning! I want to bring three (3) things to your mind this morning! (Then I’m going to have an altar call!)
I. TOUCH GOD
II TOUCH ONE ANOTHER
III TOUCH OTHERS
I. I CAN TOUCH GOD!
Jesus said in Luke 24:39
“Look at my hands, look at my feet! Touch Me...see that it is really Me!”
To many are happy knowing Jesus is there! To many are at ease knowing He is there! BUT HEAR ME THIS MORNING! JESUS IS NOT HAPPY IN YOU KNOWING THAT HE IS JUST THERE! HE DOESN’T WANT YOU TO TAKE PEACE ONLY IN KNOWING HE IS THERE! HE SAYS “TOUCH ME! SEE THAT IT IS REALLY ME!”
IN OTHER WORDS PARTAKE OF ME! FEEL ME & FEEL MY FLESH! TO FEEL SOMEONE’S FLESH IS TO TOUCH THEIR SOUL!
I CAN TOUCH YOUR FLESH & SHAKE HANDS WITH YOU BUT I’M NOT REALLY TOUCHING YOU INTIMATELY! BUT WHEN I PARTAKE OF YOUR NATURE, OF YOUR PASSION THEN I’M TOUCHING YOUR SOUL!
IF YOU’RE GOING TO TOUCH ONE ANOTHER OR OTHERS THEN YOU FIRST HAVE TO “TOUCH HIM!”
In Matthew 9:21 the woman with the issue of blood make the bold statement that has rang down through history, I’ve preached on it many times because it “TOUCHES” my spirit & heart when she said those immortal words...
“IF ONLY, I MAY TOUCH HIS GARMENT I WILL BE MAKE WELL!”
FOLK, SHE “TOUCHED HIM” & WAS NEVER THE SAME AGAIN! YOU NEED TO “TOUCH HIM” AGAIN! YOU’LL NEVER BE THE SAME! THIS CHURCH WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN AFTER SHE “TOUCHES HIM” ONE MORE TIME!
WE NEED TO CONTINUALLY “TOUCH HIM” CONSISTENTLY, DAILY, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! IF YOU LOSE THAT “TOUCH” THEN YOU LOSE EVERYTHING!
BY NOT TOUCHING HIM...
YOU LOSE YOUR PASSION FOR CHRIST!
YOU LOSE YOUR PASSION FOR SOULS!
YOU LOSE YOUR PASSION FOR OTHERS!
YOU LOSE YOUR PASSION FOR HIS WILL!
YOU LOSE YOUR PASSION FOR CHRISTIAN LIFE!
(YOU MAY TALK THE TALK BUT THE PASSION IS GONE JUST THE SAME!)
IF WE’RE GOING TO SEE LIGHTHOUSE WORSHIP CENTER GROW, WE NEED A “PASSION FOR SOULS”, IF WE’RE GOING TO HAVE A “PASSION FOR SOULS” THEN WE NEED TO “TOUCH HIM” FOR HIS “PASSION IS FOR SOULS!”
I’ve heard it said that Tommy Barnett says...
“I WILL DO ANYTHING SHORT OF SINNING TO WIN SOULS!”
IT’S “HIS” PASSION! IT NEEDS TO BE “OUR” PASSION!
IT ALL COMES FROM
“TOUCHING HIM”
II. I CAN TOUCH ONE ANOTHER!
We’ve already established that “TOUCHING” is not just with the hands but it is “TOUCHING” with the “HEART or LOVING ONE ANOTHER!”
In the New Testament the phrase “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” is profoundly mentioned #13 times.
Folk, we have to “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” in such a manner that it’s known without saying it! We have to have an “ATTITUDE” that when others come through those doors they’ll feel what we don’t have to say!
We’ll draw others by the way we love one another! Because the way we love one another is the way we’ll love others!
John 13:34 Jesus tells us...
“...that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
Jesus said that we should love one another as He loves us and then in a declarative statement states again, “...that you also love one another.”
In I John 3 unless you love one another you have no love for God.
In Romans 13 it is the fulfilling of the Law
In I Cor. 13 no duty is accepted without it,
it is the badge of a Christian & everlasting grace.
In Matt. 25 Christ will judge us according to this command.
Love is PRAYERFUL, FORGIVING, HELPFUL, SYMPATHIZING, & RELIEVING TO ANOTHER! ALL OF THESE APPLY TO US AS WE BUILD THE HOUSE OF GOD, LIGHTHOUSE WORSHIP CENTER! AS WE REACH OUT TO THE LOST AND DISENFRANCHISED, THE LONELY & HOMELESS, THE POOR & DESTITUTE! THE HUNGRY & COLD! THE GODLESS & POSSESSED!
III. I CAN TOUCH OTHERS!
Mark 16:15 says...
“Go you into all the world & preach the Gospel to every living creature”
We must have an “I CAN DO ATTITUDE” if we’re going to reach the lost for Christ! We must know that “WITH HIM I CAN DO...” “WITH HIM I CAN REACH THE LOST....I CAN SEE SOULS SAVED....I CAN WITNESS MIRACLE....I CAN BE USED OF GOD IN A MIGHTY WAY!
FOLK, THERE IS NOTHING AS EXCITING AS BEING USED OF GOD ! YOU KNOW THAT! YOU’VE BEEN USED OF GOD IN THE PAST! AND I’LL BET YOU’LL AGREE THAT IF IT HAS BEEN ANY LENGTH OF TIME IT’S BEEN TOO LONG!
GET THAT “I CAN DO ATTITUDE” & SEE WHAT IT IS THAT GOD WANTS TO DO TO & THROUGH YOU! WE WANT TO SEE OUR CHURCH GROW THEN YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN “I CAN DO ATTITUDE” & DO IT WITH CHRIST JESUS!
SOULS ARE HANGING IN THE BALANCE THIS MORNING! TIME IS RUNNING OUT! SOULS ARE DYING & GOING TO A DEVIL’S HELL AND WE NEED TO BE ABOUT THE FATHER’S BUSINESS!
JOIN WITH US AS WE PARTAKE OF CHRIST’S PASSION FOR SOULS AND SEE SOULS WON FOR HIS NAME SAKE!
YOU HAVE TO TOUCH GOD, YOU HAVE TO TOUCH ONE ANOTHER, YOU HAVE TO TOUCH OTHERS!
WILL YOU DO THAT THIS MORNING? IF YOU’RE SITTING HERE THIS MORNING AND YOU NEED A TOUCH FROM GOD OR YOU NEED TO TOUCH GOD!
THE WOMAN SAID, “IF ONLY I COULD TOUCH HIM!” YOU CAN TOUCH HIM THIS MORNING! WILL YOU!
HOW ABOUT “IF ONLY I CAN TOUCH ONE ANOTHER”? WILL YOU THIS MORNING!
OR “IF ONLY I CAN TOUCH OTHERS!” WILL YOU THIS MORNING?
