Summary: For young people. There is hope, & a light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t give up. WE NEED TO FIGHT FOR OUR YOUNG PEOPLE LIKE NEVER BEFORE.

I RECEVIED PART OF THIS MESSAGE FROM SOMEONE. I CAN NOT REMEMBER. I HAVE ADDED TO IT & CHANGED IT. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR OUR YOUNG PEOPLE.

Don’t Stop Fighting 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

I’m 11 & I don’t want to live anymore.

Hi. I am very young but I want to die already! I hate my life! I am 11 years old. I know I cannot live more! I just want to know what is the less painful & easiest way to die. I don’t want my life anymore! I have to die! I just can’t look into my future. I love my parents but, I can’t carry on with this life!! My life is pure s***!!!! I hate my life, all my cousins are Goths. Well I thought of kind of like joining in with them. I don’t know if I should believe in God or not. My life is a pure misunderstanding.

I’m 14, depressed & see no reason to live.

Hi. Look I am 14 almost 15 & well I am depressed. Marjory depressed. I have no life. I mean come on. I have no friends. I am picked because my appearance is different. Soccer practices are really crappy (I get made fun of, tripped, soccer balls are kicked at me, & the rest of it.). My parents are constantly yelling at me. I lock my self in my room & think of ways of suicide. I have tried suicide once but I couldn’t go through with it. Basically I tried cutting my throat. I am supposedly catholic. But I don’t understand anything. I have researched other religions and they seem "fake" too. There is like only one thing that I understand. It is more of a culture not a religion & it is Goth. I mean I love arts, music. I live my life in the dark, & so on. I don’t know what to do. I am lost in this world. And I know that I won’t understand it. All I think about now is suicide. My school grades are low. I don’t do any work, & all the teachers hate me. I know that a 14-year-old person should be having the time of their life & stuff But I’m not. I try to live my life as long as I can but my efforts will fall short soon. I know it.

1.Sometimes we may feel like our life isn’t worth fighting for.

Young People give up everyday

They give up everyday on life

For every two murders in the U.S. there are three suicides

Every hour & forty-five minutes another young person commits suicide

They give up everyday on school

In 2000, approx. 31% of students dropped out of High School They give up everyday on purity

Eight hundred-twenty thousand (820,000) teen girls get pregnant each year. 34% of young women get pregnant at least once before they turn 20.

They give up everyday on families

50% of first marriages ended in divorce in 2007

People give up everyday on God

71% of the teenagers who go to church will stop going by the age of 20.

There are many reasons why young people give up.

Death of a loved one

Divorced Parents

Wasn’t pretty enough

Wasn’t skinny enough Can’t make any friends Boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with them

Family moved & lost all old friends

People give up everyday. People stop fighting everyday.

NOW YOU KNOW WHY I FIGHT FOR FAMILIES. THIS IS ONLY 2 GIRLS. THEY ALL NEED JESUS. WE AS A CHURCH MUST TAKE JESUS TO THEM.

1 Timothy 6:12 says, Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

“Fight the good fight for what we believe.” I believe in young people. I believe they can be helped. We will want to reach out. The 1st step to a good life is Jesus. They must get the Lord in their hearts. Only the Lord can calm their hearts down & give them peace. John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

1 Timothy 6:12 also talks about, “Hold tightly to the eternal life that God has given you…”

We know that fights are bad. So what is this “good fight?”

It’s a fight to stay faithful to God Sounds simple enough.

But there is a catch.

Here’s the catch. You will fail at some point in life.

You, as a human. We will fail to remain faithful to God.

There will be times in your life where you may abandon God. But He will never abandon you. Remember Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

A lot of times people will sugar coat the truth.

They’ll say things like, “It’s easy to be a Christian.” That is a lie! It’s not hard to remain faithful to God.

But for some it is. For many it’s really hard.

It’s hard for because of all the obstacles we have.

Our best friends, no matter how great they are. They will fail you!

Your parents, no matter how good they are. They will fail!

Your church, no matter how good it is. We will fail to meet all of your needs.

Because our friends, family, church & close ones fail us. We begin to think that God will fail us too.

Fight the good fight for what you believe.

2.What really does this life offer?

This world offers nothing

Your favorite television show offers no help to you.

Your favorite Brittany Spears song or Ashlee Simpson song or Black Eyed Peas song offers you nothing. No matter how good it sounds or how cool it is. It offers you nothing in this fight.

3.If you want to know how to fight the good fight. Listen to these next 3 things.

a.Let Jesus Fill The Void

There is an emptiness inside our hearts that only God can fill.

God created us with the ability to choose life with Christ or death with this world. But He also created us with a longing & an emptiness that only He can fill.

b.Don’t Stop Fighting

When you’re tired or lonely. Don’t give up on God.

Don’t give up on your family

Don’t give up on your friends

Don’t give up on school Don’t give up on relationships

Fight to remain faithful

c.Let God Fight For You

Moses & the Israelites were escaping slavery from Egypt. The Egyptian armies were closing in on the Israelites. They began to become afraid. Moses tried to encourage them to be strong. He told them that the Lord would protect them. Yes of course, God did. He had Moses lift his staff toward Heaven. Then God parted the Red Sea.

Moses encouraged the Israelites. Exodus 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

The Lord will fight for you; all you need to do is be still. Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God:I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Conclusion: Some of you may want to give up on this life. Some may want to give up on your family, school & your dreams.

Please fight. Please fight.

Byron Keith’s song, “Fight,” says,

“Dare you to fight, dare you to bleed. Dare you to live what you believe. Dare you to stand, dare you to scream. Dare you to be all you can be. ‘Cause when will becomes a might, fight.”

Jesus offers so much, so much love. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, (You are the world) that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth (showed or demonstrated) (put your name here) his love toward us (you) in that, while we (you) were yet sinners, Christ died for us (you).

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. He will accept you. John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me;and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

He will give you peace, safety, & friendship & much more. Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Young people that friend is Jesus. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I came from a broken home. I was taken from my parents very young. Put in foster homes. I ran away. I lived on the streets. Eat out of the garage cans. Took baths in the PUBLIC rest rooms. Slept in the ally with newspaper as my covers. I was abused physically, mentally, & sexually.

Then at the age of 12 I was adopted by a great man & wife. Who loved me for who I was? But God is good. I trusted the Lord as my saviour & God called me to preach. I have worked with young people all my Christian life. There is hope. I love you & the Lord loves you more.

YOUNG PEOPLE! Don’t Stop Fighting.

You always have 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Give them to Jesus. It works 100% of the time.
