LET’S GO SOUL WINING
Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
What we have just read here is what we know as the “GREAT COMMISSION”
1.GO YE: Going is before teaching, preaching, or baptizing. In Psalm 126:6 God gives us a wonderful outline on soul winning
Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
A.Go: weepth (tears, compassion)
B. Spreading the word (seeds)
C. Bringing his sheaves with him (souls)
Here again “GOING” is before sowing or weeping or rejoicing.
God certainly demands that we put feet in soul winning. Walking comes before talking.
Ephesians 6:15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
We are commanded to have our feet shod with the gospel. Why? For we are to go & tell the world, not them come to us.
Do you want to have beautiful feet? God says the feet of a soul winner are beautiful.
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Bringeth good tidings to bring something means to go. To go means using your feet.
The problem today is we have to many
“BAREFOOTED CHRISTAINS”
BOTTOM LINE SOUL WINNING BEGINS WITH THE FEET.
‘GO YE’
2.PREACH: This comes after we go. This is when we take the ‘GOOD NEWS OUT TO THEM’ Go & then tell them. Tell them about Jesus. Win them to Jesus.
3. BAPTIZE: After we use our feet to go, we tell them of Jesus (they trust Him as their savior) Then we try to get them baptized.
Please note (do not talk to them about baptizism at the door) Get them to church where Pastor can deal with them on this matter. This is the next step after salvation.
4.TEACH THEM AGAIN: This is where the church comes in. Sunday School, Sunday preaching & Wednesday night Bible & prayer meeting will teach them more on how to grow in Christ. Go to them & spend more one on one time with them in their home or in your home. 1)GO YE 2)TELL THEM (WIN THEM) 3)BAPTIZE THEM 4)DISCIPLE THEM (CHURCH, SUNDAY SCHOOL)
THIS IS THE GREAT COMMISION:
REACHING THE LOST:
It’s the very reason why Jesus came to this earth. It was the purpose of His life, death, resurrection of our Lord. It is now the commission & responsibility of the church. If you are saved you are the church. Go ye don’t look around Go ye is singular.
5.TIPS ON SOUL WINNING:
A.HAVE A DEFINITE TIME TO GO: Must put a time aside to do this or you will not go. If we plan on doing something we are more likely to do it. Our soul winning night is Thurs @ 7:00 pm or Sat @10:00am (this is mainly buses)
TWO THINGS
1. MUST DO IT ON PURPOSE
2. YOU MUST PLAN TO DO IT
It is not just the job of the Pastor, or the missionaries, youth pastor, children church workers, and bus workers. If you are saved you are to be a soul winner so make time.
B.BE SOUL CONSCIOUS: We must get into our hearts & realize that everyone around us or going to Heaven or Hell. I do not know where they are going, neither do you. Only God does. We need to tell everyone whether it is by mouth, by a tract, or inviting them to come to church. But every one has a soul. Heaven or Hell. We must tell, pass out, and invite. Keep in mind “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
C.BE CLEAN & NEAT: We are serving a King!!! We should learn to dress like we serve a King. I mean ladies look like ladies (a dress or skirt with a blouse) Men should look like men (nice pants a nice shirt tucked in, a tie (if not to hot) not shirt hanging out, pants down to your rear (Not like the world). We are to be different from the world. Hair combed, hygiene good (have mints) (bad breath will turn them off)
D.CARRY A NEW TESTAMENT (MARKED) WITH YOU: Each soul winner needs to go out & buy you a small New Testament. A big Bible will scare folks away. Have your bibles marked in red for the plan of salvation, blue for assurance verses. Be sure to carry tracts with church name, address & phone number. Also need a pen, a pad to write on for follow up and names of who got saved.
E.GO TWO BY TWO: Avoid going with more than 2 to a door (could scare them) Two things here 1) safety in numbers 2) It is biblical
Mark 6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
F.GO WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE: Go with different partners. This way you can learn from others, & others can learn from you. Pick out the best stuff from others & come up with your way.
G.CLAIM GOD’S POWERBEFORE GOING: Be prayed up, confess known sin. Have a clean heart.
H.GO BELIEVING: Doubt is sin. Go believing. (I always go out expecting God do something) God will bless you with a soul.
Romans 14:23b “for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”
I.BE NICE: The old saying you will attract more flies with honey.
I have seen folks go out & be mean to people. We do not want to do that. A friend of mine would get ugly with people if they did not want to trust Jesus. He would take his hanky out & wipe his feet off. Then tell them this is what God said to do about you
Luke 9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.)
I say if you can’t win them. Leave him or her so that someone else can.
J.BE COMPLIMENTRY: Look for small talk to begin. You really have a nice home. Wow what a beautiful yard you have. That is a really neat car you have there. This is an icebreaker before the big question. Make things a little more comfortable.
K.BE CAREFUL ABOUT GOING INTO SOMEONE HOME: The old days we were taught to try to get into the home. Now I try to stay outside, but if invited in please be very careful. Ladies should never go into a home where a man is by himself. The same for men never go into a home when a lady is alone. Never in a home with children alone. Never, Never, Never!!! I WOULD SUGGEST NOT EVEN TALK WITH THEM UNLESS WITH AN ADULT PRESENT.
L.BE A GOOD LISTNER: Listen to them, be concerned about them. But at the same time get the Gospel out to them.
M.ONLY ONE TALK AT A TIME: One is the soul winner the other is the silent partner. The soul winner does the talking. The partner is there to pray, take care of thing going on around them. Act interested though, take care of the problem when it a raises the child cries, dog runs out (you go after it). Take turns if you wish, but only one talk at the same time.
N.STAY ON THE SUBJECT: Remember you are there to get them saved. If the asked a crazy question. Acknowledge it but get back to the main thing Soul Winning get back to the subject at hand (the Romans road)
Learn to say ”That is a really good question. Can I get back to that in a few moments”
O.FIND A WAY TO GET THEM LOST: Get them to
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: This comes after you ask them if they were to die where would they spend eternity.
P.GIVE THEM THE ROMANS ROAD: Take just a few moments to show you from Gods word how to get to heaven. May I show you?
Q.LEAD THEM TO A SAVING KNOWELGE OF JESUS CHRIST:
Get them to ask Jesus to forgive them of their sins. Get them to ask him into their heart to be their savior. Help them understand that they must receive Jesus into their heart. Knowing is not enough. I know of the President of the Untied States, but I do not know him personally. We must have a personal relationship with Jesus, & ask Him in.
R.PRAY WITH THEM: Thank God for them & their decision.
S. ASK THEM AGAIN IF THEY WERE TO DIE WHERE WOULD THEY GO. THEN ASK THEM WHAT THEY ARE TRUSTING IN. Make sure they understand that Jesus is the only way.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
T.GIVE THEM ASSUARANCE VERSES:
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
U.INVITE THEM TO CHURCH: Ask if they would come to church with you. Offer to pick them up.
V.FOLLOW UP: Call them during the week, go by & see them again. Encourage them to come.
Keep in mind “IF WE DO NOT FOLLOW UP, THE DEVIL WILL SWALLOW UP.” LET’S GO SOUL WINNING!!!!!
