Psalm 100:1-5The Message
A Thanksgiving Psalm
100 1 All of you, up on your feet now
—Shout & applaud for the lord!
2 Bring a gift of laughter,
sing yourselves into his presence.
3 Know this: God is God, and God, God.
He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep.
4 Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank him. Worship him.
5 For God is sheer beauty,
all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.

- David Jeremiah - Turning Point
- Dale Carnegie Writes about an exercise to make sure that you never become a thankless person
- Take a sheet of paper
- Make a list of all the good things you have despite all the problems you have
- Then in your mind imagine each one of those things being taken from you
- Imagine what your life be without them
- When you fully realize the emptiness gradually give those things back to yourself one by one
- You will be surprise how much better you feel
- It is impossible to be thankful & negative at the same time
- When you are grateful you are not angry, resentful or bitter
- You are not critical, judgmental or vengeful
- That does not mean you will never become any of these things
- It’s that they can’t be both there at the same time
- If you are grateful sadness, depression anger can’t stay in your soul very long
4. Restoring - v.4
- Where are we going what are we doing?
- Our priorities get out of sink with who we are in Christ
- We become our own focus

You Are So Blessed
- When you realize America is one of a handful of places on earth where you can drink water out of the tap or flick a light switch and the lights will come on.
- When you can go to a store and buy almost anything you want.
- When you call the police you do not expect brutality to show up at your door.
- If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who won’t survive the week.
- If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people around the world.
- If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.
- If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
- If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.
- If you own just one Bible 1/3 of the world do not have excess to a Bible
- If you attend church without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.
- If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He is your
Savior you are part of a very small minority in the world
- If you prayed yesterday and today you are in the minority because you believe God does hear and answer prayers.
- You are so blessed in ways you may never even know.
