JUDGMENT # 6 -THE JUDGMENT OF ANGELS- 1ST COR. 6:4- 8-26-08
Today we’ll continue our study to do with 7 Judgments that we find in the Bible. Today we’ll talk for a little while on the subject, {saints judging angels}.
But before we begin let me name the 7 judgments once again. I realize that I’ve named them each week, but there’s always people listening for the 1st time.
#1-{the judgment of sin,} this took place on the cross of Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
#2- {self-judgment of our daily sins} after we were saved.
1 Corinthians 11:31-32 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
The other 5 judgments are after the rapture of the Church.
#3- {the judgment seat of Christ}, this is where all that are saved will be judged for our stewardship, our works after we were saved and thus rewarded accordingly.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
And #4-{-the judgment of Israel, Jacobs Trouble, Jer. 30:7, “name-Gen.32:28--35:10” and this has to do with the Tribulation period. The Tribulation is “Jacobs trouble”. But it will affect all the earth.
Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it--
That is the 1/3 that is not destroyed.
-#5-{the judgment of the nations}, this takes place after Christ returns and has defeated His enemies at Armageddon, at the end of the 7 year Tribulation, “Rev.19:” but just prier of Him setting up His Kingdom, the 1000 year reign of Christ. MATT. 25:31-46
#6-the judgment of the fallen angels}- 1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels?
And #7 is of coarse, {the White Throne judgment}, this is when all the lost souls are brought out of hell and judged according to their wickedness, and according to the degree of their wickedness be tormented in the lake of fire, there are not any saved people judged at this judgment, these are all lost.
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Listen as I read our text.
1st. Cor. 6: 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels?
The context of our passage is to do with going before the sinful courts of the world with a suite against our Christian brothers and sisters. Paul is saying to settle our difference among each other instead of allowing sinners to decide our problem.
Because we will one day judge the world as we’re reigning with Christ and we will even have a part in judging the fallen angels.
I personally believe that this time of our judging the fallen angels will be close to the time of the "white Throne Judgment of the lost" that we read about in Rev. 20: 11-15.
Because GOD IS GETTING RID OF SIN & SINNERS, its not His will that any perish, but if lost sinners choose to reject His Son Jesus and had rather follow Satan and the sinful things of this world then He has no chose other that let them follow Satan to the pits of the damned, God can not allow sin in His presents, He gave heavens best for the worlds worst if they will only except Him.
God will get rid of all sin and Christ rejecting sinners, lets realize that when this will be taking place He will be cleaning up the sinful world along with all sinful angels.
When we hear the word "demon" it’s a reference to fallen angels, their also called "unclean spirits" in our Bible, we don’t find the word "demon" in our KJ Bible but that is what it means.
Apparently there were some of the fallen angels more wicked than others because some are kept bound and in a place where God sent them, others are still here on earth and they are under the authority of Satan, Satan let me remind us is not OMNIPRESENT like the Holy Spirit, Satan can only be at one place at a time, so he has his fallen angels, his unclean spirits, his demons out doing his dirty work.
In Rev. 9: we read about two demonic forces that will be turned loose on the earth dwellers in the Tribulation, both of these demonic forces are being held for a specific time. When you have a chance read the entire chapter, that’s Rev.9:
I wish I had time to read it to you.
At one time there were no fallen angels, all of the angels were faithful to God. Lucifer had the honored position of being in charge of all the angels, but because of pride and the desire to have Gods position of being worshipped he became sinful.
Isaiah 14: 12 15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,** son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit
--5- I WILLS- 5 the # of death, in Gens. 5:5 we read about the death of the first man Adam,--EPH. 5:25-, which is 5x5- Christ, died for the Church.
Ezekiel 28: 13-17 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground,--
The Lord Jesus was there when Lucifer who then became Satan was cast out of heaven.
Luke 10: 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
We believe that there were 1/3 of the angels that were in heaven at this time were cast out with Satan because of Satan lying to them that he was going to over throw God and take over.
Revelation 12: 4 + 9 And his tail drew the third part of the stars** of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:--- 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Notice these now fallen angels are referred to as [his angels, Satans.]
Where are these fallen angels now? We know that Satan is free and at work in the world.
Peter 5:8 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
We know that he has an army of demonic powers assisting him, they are part of these fallen angels, their unclean spirits.
Evidently some of the angels committed some type of great sin before the fall of man there in Gen.3:
Jude 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
If this is the case, we have no information as to the nature of the sin or why only certain evil angels are confined while others remain free.
Eph. 6:10-12 10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [(trickery]
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Peter said that some of the angels were confined to Tartarus. (“hell”)*** Tartarus is a special section of hell where these angels are chained in pits of darkness, awaiting the final judgment.
Tartarus is the deepest abyss.
2nd Peter 2:4 4For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, { Tartarus} and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
And let me say that if God judged the angels, who in many respects are higher than men, then certainly He will judge rebellious men.
“The sons of God” is a title for Gods angels, never for fallen angels.
Peter and Jude state that these rebellious angels are chained in darkness and reserved for judgment.
We are told in our text in 1.cor 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels?.
Therefore we know that will come to pass, but I must confess I certainly don’t have all the answers as to what is involved,I suppose that this is another subject that we’ll really just have to wait and see, but rest assured we will judge these fallen angels.
