The same way satan came to Adam.(Genesis 3:1-10) he did the same with the second Adam (Jesus Christ)(cf. Matt. 4:1–11)
Though satan came to Jesus openly appearing not as a serpent but appearing as him self.
First Temptation
Mark 1:12, 13; Luke 4:1–4
4Then aJesus was led up by bthe Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, c‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
Second Temptation
Luke 4:9–12
5 Then the devil took Him up dinto the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: e‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, fIn their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
Third Temptation
Mark 1:13; Luke 4:5–8, 13
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and hshowed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, 2“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, i‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” 11 Then the devil jleft Him, and behold, kangels came and ministered to Him. , he approached the woman in disguise (cf. 2 Cor. 11:3, 14, 15). 3 But I fear, lest somehow, as fthe serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds gmay be corrupted from the 1simplicity that is in Christ. v.14,15 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into van angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, wwhose end will be according to their works.
The “serpent” was considered an unclean animal by the Hebrews (Lev. 11:42)42 Whatever crawls on its belly, whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet among all creeping things that creep on the earth—these you shall not eat, for they are an abomination. ; it was the instrument of Satan, who was the source and author of evil and the one who inaugurated temptation. John confirmed the identity of the Serpent (Rev. 12:9 9 So nthe great dragon was cast out, othat serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, pwho deceives the whole world; qhe was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ; 20:2. 2 He laid hold of bthe dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;). The exact nature of the Serpent (nahash, Heb.) is not known. However the definition that is givin derives from the word Hebrew word naw·khawsh and it talks about a 1 serpent, snake. 1a serpent. 1b image (of serpent). 1c fleeing serpent (mythological). Naw -Khawsh is derived from the word naw·khash/ AV translates as “enchantment” four times, “divine” twice, “enchanter” once, “indeed” once, “certainly” once, “learn by experience” once, and “diligently observe” once. 1 to practice divination, divine, observe signs, learn by experience, diligently observe, practice fortunetelling, take as an omen. 1a (Piel). 1a1 to practice divination. 1a2 to observe the signs or omens.
ENCHANTMENT — the practice of magic or sorcery. In the Bible, enchantment is used as a general word that can refer to several different types of supernatural experiences, including fortune-telling, calling up demons, and controlling evil spirits. Most ancient civilizations believed in such magical approaches to religion, but the Mosaic Law referred to such practices as “abominations,” forbidding them to the Hebrews (Deut. 18:10–12). The Law also provided that practitioners of such “black magic” should be stoned (Lev. 20:27). In my opinion Jesus should have picked up the stones he wanted Jesus to turn into bread and cast them at Satan.
I want you to notice Satans Modus Operendi - Method of operation:
3:6 The method of temptation used by Satan established a pattern according to which he would deal with man: (1) Getting Man to Question God, i.e., he was trying to distort or cast doubt on the word of God, (that is the beginning of every temptation.) Satan is powerless without man’s *assent and *consent (v. 1) The Late Eleanor Roosevelt wife of our 32nd President President Franklin Delano Roosevelt said ," No one can make you feel inferior without your consent". (2) Another area Satan operates is trying to get mankind to Contradict God, i.e. deny His word outright, is the inevitable result of questioning it (v. 4). (3) Surpassing God is that satanic device in which some imaginary good is sought, above and beyond what God has offered (v. 5). (4) Disobeying God is the final result (v. 6). The areas of testing were threefold: (1) appetite, (2) beauty, and (3) ambition or pride (cf. 1 John 2:16 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, xthe lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.). Every temptation by Satan falls into one of these three areas. Temptation is primarily an attempt to get one to act independently of God by implanting a desire for self-assertion or a determination to go one’s own way (cf. Prov. 14:1212 iThere is a way that seems right to a man, But jits end is the way of kdeath., note; Is. 53:66 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord 5has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.).
*Assent—agreeing to the truth of a statement or fact
* Consent - to give permission; to agree openly; to acknowledge outwardly
3:7 After the fall of Adam and Eve to the tempter, they did become “like God, knowing good and evil” (v. 5). But Satan’s half-truth did not tell them that this knowledge would be experiential for them, unlike God’s knowledge of evil in His infinitude and omniscience. They had fallen prey to Satan’s temptation to doubt God, perverting a “good” for their own selfish ends. Shame is the appropriate emotional attitude for those who have deliberately violated God’s commands and ignored His purposes. Mankind inevitably discovers that divine wrath and retribution come in the wake of such a response to God’s goodness. The immediate effects of the Fall are fourfold: (1) the discovery that something is wrong with oneself; (2) the effort to hide shame with a self-provided cover; (3) the fear of God which prompts one to hide (vv. 8 - 24 ):
8 And they heard ithe 3sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the 4cool of the day, and Adam and his wife jhid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
*( Genesis 3:8 "The Trees of Concealment" Adam : The Man was hiding behind a Tree)
9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, kand I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
a. ( His Fall : " I heard thy voice ")
b. ( His Fear: " I was afraid " )
c. ( His Folly: " I hid myself " )
Why was Adam hiding behind a tree?
I will tell you why.
Trees represent prominent leaders that stand above the grass, the masses of mankind. The righteous man is likened to a tree: "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water..." Psalms 1:3
The tree stood taller than Adam.
The Man was out of position when the Man is out of place he is displaced because of not being in postion which causes the woman to be displaced or out of position because she notices that the Man is not in his position so she tries to take control because there aint no man in the house. When a man is not where he is supposed to be He knocks everything out of order. When a woman tries to take the role of a man she is doing it because she never had a man to step up to the plate. So really she is just going by her past experiences.(Ronnie beat me, Ricky cheated on me, Ralph just did me wrong, and Bobby just wanted to party all the time...I wish I could say I’m talking about a women outside of the church but I’m talking about some women in the church.) Baby let me help you out you looking for love in all the wrong places. God will send you a saved man that loves God, that loves going to church, that wants a family. The Bible say’s in Proverbs 18:22 "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD."
A woman knows when she has a real man......because she won’t have to go looking for him. He will be where he is suppose to be. Taking control of not just some things but everything. Now thats a Man!
Don’t get me started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s time for men to be men.
But then women a man don’t want a silly woman.
Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
Thats enough of that - thats another message!
Refference: "I’m a man of steel"- K Drama
If God could speak to Jacob in a dream (Gen. 28:11–16) and through an angel (Gen. 32:22–32), to Moses from a flaming bush (Ex. 3:2–10), and Job out of a whirlwind or a mighty storm surely God could have spoken to Adam but Adam didnt call out to the Lord instead he hid. Romans 10:13 say’s "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be *saved."
*If one needs to be saved, he is in serious difficulty, as is clear from the very terminology. The term further implies the subject’s inability to help or save himself. The concept is that of rescue and deliverance.
God would have rescued and delivered Adam had he cried out to the Lord but he hid himself because he had sinned.
Job said in Job 31:33 RSV "if I have concealed my transgressions as others do, (As Adam did ) by hiding (his) my iniquity in (his) my bosom,
Job didn’t want to be like Adam by trying to hide iniquity in his heart.
David said in Psalms 66:18," If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me"
“Regard” means here “to look with favor upon” or “plan.” The believer must take the same attitude toward sin which God takes. A clear conscience, i.e., one devoid of a desire for sin, is necessary for a righteous lifestyle.
If I make plans to sin and go through with them and think I am hiding it from God listen to what the Bible say’s in Isaiah 59:2 " My iniquities will separate me from God;And my sins will cause God to hide His face from me, and He will not hear me.
Look at your neighbour and tell them " Don’t do it"
Hebrews 10:22 say’s , "let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
1 John 3:21 say’s , "Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God."
My question to you is this.....can anyone Hide from God?
Jeremiah 23:24 say’s "Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.
I have good news for you today that the Lord who fills heaven and earth wants to fill you so that you can be full and fulfilled. Maybe you are like Jonah in the sense that you are trying run from God or Maybe you once knew God and you ran out of oil. God wants you to stop hiding and come to him so that he can restore you and fill you with the Holy Ghost or maybe you haven’t had a touch from God in a while and you need one of those overflow anointings my word to you is that God wants to fill you up to the brim. ( Fill your cup) So that He can satisfy you with favor, and the full blessings of the Lord. God wants to fulfill the word he spoke over your life. God has declared that you will walk upright, God has declared that you will be filled with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge because the Lord say’s, " The whole earth shall be filled with His glory."
I don’t want to Test God
I don’t want to reject God
All I want is for Him to bring me into that place where I can hear his voice. We need to be real with God. Just like God called Adam from the midst of the Garden. And asked “ Where are you?” The Savior is calling today and saying Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28,29,30
Adam broke fellowship with God but God had a backup plan that would restore mankind back into a relationship with Him through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It was determined in the eternal counsels of the Godhead, through the Everlasting Covenent that the Word would not only become the mediator between God and man but also that He would be the sacrifice for the sins of the world. Can you imagine Divinty would unite with humanity in the bodily form of Jesus Christ (Quote John 1:14).This covenant was not made between God and man even though it involves man it was made in Eternity before time began between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It was made before the creation of man and the entrance of sin into the human race. Each person in the Godhead would fulfill their part in the contract which involved creation and redemption. The Father is the originator of the covenants. He makes the promises; He gives the words and the terms of the covenants. The Son is the sacrifice, the mediator of the covenant, functioning in the sanctuary as both offering and offerer, sacrifice and priest .The Holy Spirit is the seal, the sign and the token. He is the person in the Godhead who would be the executor of the covenant and see that it would be carried out in full. Somebody say the Blood
Because the blood is the life of man, and of all flesh, and man’s blood became corrupted by the entrance of sin, sinless blood was needed to redeem man because “the children are partakers of flesh and blood” it was necessary that the etrnal Son of God, by reason of the Everlasting Covenent ,take upon Himself “flesh and blood” (Hebrews 2:14) This was done in the virgin birth or incarnation of Christ. It was t Holy Spirit who over shadowed the Virgin Mary planted within her the Divine seed of the Father and with it the sinless blood needed for the atonement of mans sin.
It was the blood of Jesus that was poured out as the cleansing agent for sin. His blood is sinless and therefore incorruptible. Somebody say the blood. “His blood is the blood of the everlasting covenant “ (Hebrews 13:20; 9:11-28;10:29). He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, as well as before the foundation. ( Revelation 13:8;1Peter 1:19-20 ) .
