What are we aiming for as a church?

1. I will be asking a series of questions and I would like you jot your answers down.

Text: Psalms 90
Notice….
Verse 12- teach us to count our days – that wisdom may be ours
Verse 16- Let the work of God be ours and the glory of the work rest on our children
Introduction:
1. Do we know where we are going as a church?
a. What are our goals in one year? Five years? 10 years?
b. I can honestly tell you, that without proper goals, in one year, 5 year and 10 year we will be no way further that we are now.
c. Without proper goals and a mission, we go nowhere fat.
d. "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint…”
(Proverbs 29:18, NKJV)
2. Do we know what we stand for as a church?
a. If someone ask you, what are you guys about over there anyway, what would you tell them?
Discussion:
A. What are we aiming for?
1. If we do not know, we will never hit it.
2. When we know what we are trying to do, then we can “SET IN MOTION” ways to accomplish it.
B. Knowing what we are aiming for, will accomplish several things.
#1. It will help us to define who we are as a fellowship.
a. What makes us different from the church down the street
#2. It will help us to identify our goals
a. We will know where we are supposed to be going
#3. It will assist in keeping our priorities straight
a. If we are trying to reach the youth and young families it will decide for us what we will do
Such as….
We will have youth and family outings as opposed to pot luck dinners.
We will play a more contemporary music and videos and have less of the older hymns.
In other words… we will do what the people in that age range would do
