DO YOU HAVE HEART BURN ?

I DO THIS LESSON IN TWO PARTS.
I. INTRODUCTION:
A. Before we can understand this lesson we must have a basic understanding of WHAT PRESENT MEANS:
PRESENCE:
Being in view or at hand.
The fact or condition of being present.
Being in the space within one’s immediate vicinity.
Close relationship.
To aim, point, or direct.
B. WE MUST COME TO GOD WITH A MADE UP MIND...
It was a terrible Sunday outside. The snow was near blizzard conditions.
The wind was blowing so hard and the snow was almost blinding.
The old man got ready and bundled himself up and started walking
to church. Some of his friends went driving by in a warm car.
They stopped and gave him a ride to church.
The friends said to the old man:
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GO TO CHURCH THIS MORNING IN THESE
HORRIBLE WEATHER CONDITIONS?
The old man raised his head and said:
I DIDN’T DECIDE TO GO TO CHURCH TODAY! I MADE THE DECISION TO
GO TO CHURCH AND WORSHIP OUR FATHER MANY, MANY YEARS AGO.
II. CAN WE SEE THE NEED TODAY OF COMING INTO THE PRESENCE OF JESUS?
SIR, WE WOULD SEE JESUS...
John 12:21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of
Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
A. I KNOW ABOUT?
The small grandson was doing a study for his History class.
He had studied Robert E. Lee in great detail. He was writing ABOUT
ROBERT E. LEE.
When the Grandson was done with his writing, he read his paper to
his Grandfather.
The Grandfather said: Well, most of what you have written is accurate.
The Grandson said: Paw, I have studied and I KNOW ALL ABOUT ROBERT E. LEE.
The Grandfather replied: GRANDSON, I PERSONALLY KNEW ROBERT E. LEE.
I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH HIM AND I SERVED UNDER HIS COMMAND.
Seems the Grandson knew ABOUT Robert E. Lee,
WHILE THE GRANDFATHER KNEW THE MAN.
B. IS IT POSSIBLE TO KNOW ABOUT THE MAN WITHOUT KNOWING THE MAN?
SIR, WE WOULD SEE JESUS!
III. IS IT POSSIBLE TO WORSHIP WORSHIP? AND PRAISE PRAISE? AND FORGET
ABOUT THE WORTHY WORSHIP OF A MOST HIGH AND HOLY GOD?
A. WHAT IS THE REAL MEANING --- CLOUDS WITHOUT WATER?
This is so deep... Is it possible to COME TO CHURCH AND NOT REALLY
WORSHIP GOD?
GOD IS WORTHY OF OUR PRAISE AND WORSHIP.
Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
B. In the Old Testament there were two parts of worship...
THERE WAS THE OUTER COURT...
That was the preparation of the hearts and the ceremonies of Priest Preparation, the offerings and etc.
Many of the PRIEST WERE VERY GOOD WITH THEIR KNIVES AND IN THE
OUTER CEREMONIES.
C. THEN THERE WAS THE PLACE OF THE HOLY OF HOLIES...
THE INNER COURT... Behind the VEIL ... There was a foot thick VEIL that seperated the OUTER COURT AND THE INNER COURT.
D. Many knew the OUTER COURT...
Few ever entered the INNER COURT! THE INNER COURT AND THE GLORY CLOUD
ARE SYMBOLIC OF JEVOVAH COMING DOWN IN OUR MIDST.
Exodus 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
E. GOD’S PRESENCE WAS SYMBOLIZED BY A CLOUD --- COVERING...
The splendor of the Glory Presence.
SHECHINAH:
THERE IS A WORD NOT USED IN THE BIBLE, BUT IT IS A CHALDEE WORD
THAT MEANS RESTING PLACE...
The Jewish used the word SHECHINAH TO DESIGNATE THE VISIBLE
SYMBOL OF GOD’S PRESENCE.
F. The SHECHINAH GLORY OF GOD WAS THE PILLAR OF A CLOUD BY DAY
AND A FIRE BY NIGHT.
G. The Glory Presence of God would settle upon the Tabernacle and over
the Ark of the Covenant.
1 Kings 8:10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.
12 Then spake Solomon, The Lord said that he would dwell in thick darkness.
IV. OUR HEADS AND HEARTS ARE DOWN, DOWN, --- DOWN.
WE HAVE THE VALIDITY OF FACTS ON OUR NEGATIVE SIDE.
WE WALKED WITH JESUS, WE KNEW JESUS IN A PERSONAL WAY...
WE HAD GREAT HOPE ... HAVEN’T YOU HEARD THE BAD NEWS?
A. CLEOPAS HAD BAD NEWS... The bad news affected the ANOINTING!
Are you a stranger, haven’t you heard?
LET ME TELL YOU WHY OUR HEADS AND HEARTS OUR DOWN
Luke 24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed
Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
B. Our eyes and ears have received this bad news, OUR HOPE IS DASHED!
The emotions of these TWO MEN was hiding many TRUTHS AND SPIRITUAL
FACTS.
C. WHEN WE COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD’S SON NO FACTS CAN HIDE
THE FAITH.
Luke 24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
D. BELIEVE THE FAITH FACT?
THE LORD IS RISEN. WE HAVE BEEN IN HIS PRESENCE --- OUR HEARTS BURN!
V. THE LORD IS IN OUR MIDST? CAN WE GET FROM HEAD KNOWLEDGE
TO HEART KNOWLEDGE? GOD GIVE US HEART BURN OF YOUR PRESENCE.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.
A. GREATEST DISTANCE IN THE WORLD?
The eighteen inches from the brain to the heart.
Ever thought about your heart?
Your heart is a vital organ.
B. It is a hollow musuclar organ to pump blood through the circulation system of the body.
Your heart is about the size of your fist.
C. It has 4 chambers in it, two receiving chambers and two pumping.
2 atriums, 2 ventriculars, with a bicuspid valve between.
The average heart weighs between 8 and 16 ounces.
The average heart rate is 65 to 70 times a minute.
That is 4,200 times an hour.
That is 100,800 times a day.
36,792,000 a year.
2,575,000,000 in a 70 year life span.
D. Two parts to the heart beat: --- THUB --- DUB, THUB --- DUB ...
The bringing in of the blood and the pumping out of the blood.
Diastolic
Systolic
E. There are two ways of helping the heart: Defibrillator --- shock,
Pacemaker --- regulate.
F. The heart is about one’s innermost character, feelings, and inclinations.
The heart is also the seat of emotions and moral conduct.
COMPASSION, LOVE, AFFECTION,
Generous disposition.
WE MUST GET GOD FROM THE HEAD TO THE HEART AND FROM THE HEART
TO THE HEAD.
VI. ONLY GOD CAN BREAK THE YOKE OF BONDAGE. GOD TOLD HIS MAN,
JEREMIIAH TO MAKE A WOOD YOKE AND WEAR IT EVERY DAY.
A. There are two men in this Bible lesson...
JEREMIAH: The real God called man of God.
Jeremiah’s message was hard and spoke of God’s judgments.
B. HANANIAH: The false prophet, speaking smooth and easy words
and making promises of prosperity and ease.
Jeremiah 28:11 And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
12 Then the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
13 Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron.
C. Hananiah called Jeremiah’s message cruel and mean, and that he would break the yoke. Hananiah will pay dearly.
D. ONLY GOD’S DIVINE PRESENCE CAN BREAK THE YOKE.
WORSHIP IS PART OF THE YOKE BREAKING!
Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
VII. WORSHIP IS GETTING THE FOCUS OFF THE FLESH AND ALL ATTENTION
IS DIRECTED TO GOD.
PEOPLE MAKE NOTE OF THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN WITH JESUS?
THE DIVINE PRESENCE CAN DO MORE IN 15 MINUTES THAN A MAN CAN
ACCOMPLISH IN A LIFE TIME.
A. It is possible to get so POLISHED and PROFESSIONAL in the OUTER COURT,
that we can BYPASS the Inner court. Yet it is the time in the inner court that CHANGES LIVES.
B. With the invention of the computer --- Pastors can bypass seeking the anointing for SERMON PREPARATION.
Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
C. It was the anointing and knowing God’s presence that changed Peter and John.
SAUL became PAUL AFTER PERSONALLY SEEING THE LIGHT!
VIII. TO EXPERIENCE GOD’S PERSONAL PRESENCE REQUIRES TWO THINGS:
1. SACRIFICE but that is not enough
2. OBEDIENCE is required --- SERVICE IS DEMANDED...
1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
A. You can give and not love, but you can never love and not give.
God loves CHEERFUL GIVERS.
B. You can never enter real life changing worship without making SACRIFICES.
Cain gave of his fruit. Abel gave his FIRSTLING, his best!
God is not a PAWN SHOP where you can bring the things you don’t need any more.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
C. Many want to GIVE and not GIVE OF THEMSELVES.
Seek God first, the THINGS WILL COME.
MANY SAY THEY WOULD DIE FOR THE CROSS, THEY JUST DON’T WANT TO
LIVE DAILY FOR JESUS.
IX. WHY DO WE COME TO CHURCH? DO WE COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF
GOD IN WORSHIP AND PRAISE?
A. Many attend church for many reasons. Some attend church to help their
business by opening doors of contact? Some attend church to watch their children in a play or activity or program? Some feel it is their Christian duty and obligation?
Others find church a good GOSSIP STATION to discuss faults and failures?
B. Some have heard a Divine Invitation to COME...
Rev. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
C. COME AND WORSHIP! COME AND SING UNTO THE LORD!
COME AND PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME! COME AND SUBMIT TO THE WORD OF GOD.
O, COME LET US ADORE HIM. COME GIVE HONOR TO OUR GOD!
D. COME AND ALLOW THE SWEET SPIRIT OF GOD KISS YOUR HEART.
MY HOW THE HEARTS OF TRUE WORSHIPPERS BURN WITHIN THEM.
X. SOME DAY WE SHALL STAND AT THE FEET OF JESUS. ONE OF THE
QUESTIONS HE WILL ASK US, WERE YOU ZEALOUS IN YOUR WORSHIP?
A. Will your friends and family note you have been with Jesus?
B. Consider the OBSTACLES OF WORSHIP, IDENTIFY THEM, AND OVERCOME
THEM... WE MUST KNOW THE GLORY CLOUD OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
C. Once as a teenager I was at Youth Camp in Indiana. The Camp Grounds
were old and in disrepair. We were in church one night and a mighty
move of God swept over the place. People were dancing before God.
In great respect I sat and watched as the Glory Cloud came down.
I could visibly see a fog like cloud come over the front of the church.
I stood amazed.
Later some one told me: The people dancing before the Lord on the old,
old dusty carpet, had raised a cloud of dust.
My teen heart was broken. But the glory was in my heart!
I DO HAVE HEART BURN FOR JESUS!
D. I WAS WATCHING AN OLD JOHN WAYNE WAR MOVIE.
The battle had been long, hot and heavy.
At the end of the day all the men reported to their Sergeant,
SIR, ALL PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR!
The Sergeants reported to the Captain:
SIR, ALL PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR!
The Captains reported to the Lieutenant:
SIR, ALL PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR!
All the Lieutenants report to the General:
SIR, ALL PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR!
Meet me in WORSHIP! Holy worship! Worthy Worship!
I HAVE MADE THE DECISION I SHALL WORSHIP OUR FATHER, HIS SON,
AND HIS SWEET SPIRIT. Our society needs to see a return to PUBLIC WORSHIP!
