Our sins have ALREADY been JUDGED
Last week I made the statement that Jesus Christ was the Exclusive Savior, well today let me say again that Jesus Christ is still the Exclusive Savior.
John 5:22 22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son,---
Jesus CRIST will save all who’ll call on Him in repentance and ask Him to save them.
1st. tim. 15This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;
But if the lost sinner does not accept Jesus as his personal Lord & Savior, then this Savior rejecter will experience first hand that Jesus is the Exclusive SAVIOR.
How is that brother Brown? If the rapture takes place while the lost sinner is still alive he’ll be excluded, if he dies in his sins and the rapture takes place his lost soul will remain in hell, his body will remain in the grave until the 1000 year reign of Jesus has run its coarse and the white throne judgment of the lost comes about, I’ve said all that to say, Jesus saves all who’ll come to Him and excludes all who won’t.
John 1: 11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name
At the judgment of the nations just after the tribulation has run its course and Jesus is sitting on His throne of Glory, this is just prior to the millennial reign of King Jesus,
And all nations are before Him, He will put the sheep nations on His right and the goats on His left, this is the judgment of these nations as to how they treated His brethren the Jews during the tribulation, notice He is the Excusive Savior, listen,
Matt. 25: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Notice He is the Exclusive Savior, And then to the goats; 41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Today Lord willing I’ll try and talk a little about the fact that; our sins have ALREADY been JUDGED listen as I read today’s text found in
John 5:24- 24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life
Because our sins were nailed to the cross with Jesus Christ feeling the full weight of God’s wrath as He hung on Calvary, there are three great truths that assure the believer that he or she does not have to fear coming before God in judgment seeing that the believer has been judged already.
For the Believer Eternal Life is a Present Reality
" hath everlasting life"
Hath - to have in hand, own, possess
John 3:3636He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Listen as I give you this little story; it seems A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO AFTER THE CLOSE OF THE Sunday night SERVICE that this pastor WENT BACK TO THE DOOR TO shake hands with the people as they were leaving.
A LADY TROUBLED ABOUT HER SOUL CAME ALONG, AND HE REACHED OUT HIS HAND AND SAID TO HER, "WELL, HOW IS IT WITH YOU TONIGHT? ARE YOU SAVED?" SHE SAID, "OH, I DON’T KNOW, SIR; I HOPE SO." HE SAID, "WELL, LET ME SHOW YOU THIS VERSE, ’HE THAT BELIEVETH ON THE SON HATH EVERLASTING LIFE.’ DO YOU BELIEVE ON THE SON?" "OH, I DO, SIR, I DO BELIEVE ON HIM WITH ALL MY HEART." "WELL, THEN HAVE YOU EVERLASTING LIFE?" SHE REPLIED, "I HOPE SO. I HOPE I HAVE IT."
THE MINISTER THEN ASKED HER TO READ THE VERSE AGAIN. SHE READ IT, "HE THAT BELIEVETH ON THE SON HATH EVERLASTING LIFE." "DO YOU BELIEVE ON THE SON? "I DO." "THEN DO YOU HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE?" "I HOPE SO, I CERTAINLY HOPE SO." "READ IT AGAIN PLEASE." SHE READ IT AGAIN -- "HE THAT BELIEVETH ON THE SON HATH EVERLASTING LIFE."
DO YOU BELIEVE ON THE SON? AGAIN SHE REPLIED, "I DO!" "THEN DO YOU HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE?" SHE AGAIN REPLIED, "I HOPE SO."
"WELL," THE MINISTER SAID, "I SEE WHAT THE TROUBLE IS." SHE ASKED, "WHAT IS THE TROUBLE?" "WHY, THE TROUBLE," THE MINISTER SAID, "IS THAT WHEN YOU WERE A GIRL They SPELLED VERY DIFFERENTLY THAN THEY DID WHEN I WAS A BOY." SHE SAID, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN? I AM NOT THAT MUCH OLDER THAN YOU." HE REPLIED, "WHEN YOU WERE A GIRL H-A-T-H SPELLED "HOPE."
WHEN I WAS A BOY H-A-T-H SPELLED "HATH!" "HE THAT BELIEVETH ON THE SON HATH EVERLASTING LIFE."
You see dear heart, we don’t have a hope so salvation, we have a know so salvation.
John 6:47 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." Not going to have some time yonder in the future, but right this present time.
For the Believer Judgment is over and the Books have been Closed as far as the sin debt is concerned
"is passed from death unto life"
II Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
Just IMAGINE A DESTITUTE MOTHER BEING ARRESTED FOR STEALING A BOTTLE OF MILK IN ORDER TO FEED HER HUNGRY CHILD.
HER CRIME OF THEFT MAKES HER A LAW VIOLATOR. SHE IS SUBSEQUENTLY INDICTED AND TRIED IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. WHEN THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY PRESENTS HIS EVIDENCE IN COURT, THE JUDGE HAS NO ALTERNATIVE OTHER THAN TO FIND THE POOR WOMAN GUILTY AS CHARGED.
But BECAUSE OF THE MITIGATING CIRCUMSTANCES, THE JUDGE IMPOSES THE MINIMUM SENTENCE, A FIVE-DOLLAR FINE.
HOWEVER, A WOMAN WHO CAN’T AFFORD TO BUY A BOTTLE OF MILK FOR HER STARVING BABY CAN’T EVEN PAY SUCH A SMALL FINE. Listen, THE JUDGE IS A KIND AND CARING MAN. BUT HOW SHALL HE MAINTAIN RESPECT FOR THE LAW AND SHOW MERCY TO THE WOMAN AT THE SAME TIME?
HE RESOLVES THE DILEMMA BY REMOVING HIS JUDICIAL ROBE, TAKING FIVE DOLLARS FROM HIS WALLET, AND PAYING IT TO THE BAILIFF IN SATISFACTION OF THE JUDICIAL SENTENCE.
THIS FREES THE WOMAN TO GO HOME TO HER BABY.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WHEN JESUS WENT TO THE CROSS. WE HAVE BEEN INDICTED FOR OUR SINS AND FOUND GUILTY AS CHARGED.
THE PENALTY IS DEATH (ROMANS 6:23 23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.), Jesus took off His Kingly & Royal robe, step down from the portals of glory and paid the payment for our sins.
JESUS HAS PAID THE DEBT.
Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
F. CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON WROTE, "THE HEART OF CHRIST BECAME LIKE A RESERVOIR IN THE MIDST OF THE MOUNTAINS. ALL THE TRIBUTARY STREAMS OF INIQUITY, AND EVERY DROP OF THE SINS OF HIS PEOPLE, RAN DOWN AND GATHERED INTO ONE VAST LAKE, ALL THESE MET, AS IT WERE, IN CHRIST’S HEART, AND HE ENDURED THEM ALL."
I Peter 2:24 "Who his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
II Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
For the Believer Condemnation is No Longer Possible
john 5: 24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life "shall not come into condemnation"
Does not come into... does not incur sentence of... will not come under judgment... Does not make an appearance before a judge as the payment has already been made.
Listen as I try and give this illustration;
It seems that one time a cowboy was out on the prairie, just him and his old faithful horse, and as far as he could see there was nothing but sage brush and brambles, as he was taking a close look at his situation he notice yonder a fire that was coming in his direct, it had apparently been started by lighting, as he was trying to think of what he might do as he knew he could never out run the growing and coming fire, he gets down off his faithful horse and sets fire to the brush, and as it burned a big enough spot out ,he and his horse stepped in side the place that had already been burned , and just in time, as now the raging fire was right on them, so now they were safe because once a place has been burned out it can not be burned again.
That is what Jesus has [hath] done for us; He has taken care of the fire problem, now we don’t have to burn in hell.
Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
God did such a good job - "Judgment being completed, it don’t have to be judged again.
THE FIRES OF GOD’S JUDGMENT BURNED THEMSELVES OUT ON HIM, AND ALL WHO ARE IN CHRIST ARE SAFE FOREVER, FOR THEY ARE NOW STANDING WHERE THE FIRE HAS BEEN.
Galatians 2:20 20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
John 11:25-26 25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
