CONSIDER THE BASER SORT? THE WORMS POINT OF VIEW?
HOW WILL I LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM?

I do this in two parts.
I bought a package of rubber earth worms (fishing worms) and use as a visual effect.
I. INTRODUCTION:
A. HAVE YOU EVER PONDERED: WHAT DOES A WORM SEE? WHAT IS A WORM’S POINT OF VIEW? DOES A WORM LOVE TO GO FISHING? DOES A WORM KNOW A LOT OF DIRT ON OTHER WORMS? THE REAL LESSON OF THE WORM IS HOW LOW FORMS OF LIFE CAN BE.
B. God’s call to the ANOINTING ZONE, is not always by telegraph, telephone, snail mail, or email, BUT KNEE MAIL --- some times it is by TELL THE THRONE!
We should be sensitive to this call to the anointing, but focusing on the problems will hinder the plan of God.
Isaiah 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
C. DON’T BE THE BASER SORT --- GET OUT OF THE DIRT ---
Baser: cowardly, despicable, menial, not pure, low in value, inferior.
Acts 17:5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
D. We are pondering Perspective and how our point of view can effect the church, our family, as well as the individual.
Let us define perspective to better understand.
PERSPECTIVE:
choice of a view point; capacity to view things in their true relationship or relative importance; to look through; to see as it appears; illusion of depth and distance; mental view.
In the cycle of life, we must define and carve what will be our central perspective and this will effect our direction.
Love, unity and hope must be important.
Matthew 6:33 Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these THINGS shall be added.
E. Many want to do battle over THINGS. This might be a worm’s eye view. Seems a worm can never see above the dirt? I know many people that can’t seem to focus above the dirt.
I want us to focus on a DANGER ZONE ... when we focus on problems or the worm’s view. I guess a worm sees a lot of dirt and mud?
It is easy in life to develop the mental and spiritual attitude of forever focusing on PROBLEMS and CONFLICTS, thus seeing all the dirt.
II. LET US LOOK AT SOME EARTH WORM FACTS:
A. I have included some general information about earth worms.This is general knowledge information and does not necessarily need to be taught as part of this
lesson. It might help drive the point home to discuss a few of the points about earth worms. Be careful to not cloud the issues with TOO MANY FACTS.
B. Reports suggest there are 53,000 to 200,000 earth worms per acre.
C. Like some people would want to act, earthworms have no heart, but they have a closed circulatory system.
There are two main blood vessels that run the length of the worms body. One side pumps the blood forward, the other side pumps the blood to the back.
D. THERE ARE 5 PAIRS OF AORTIC ARCHES, or 10 small pumps that push fluids through the body. Worms lack a brain but have nerve centers called ganglia.
Worms also lack eyes but can sense light with special cells.
E. Earthworms have no stomach, the food is processed as it travels through the worms body.
F. Earth worms are both genders: male and female.
G. EARTHWORMS HAVE A GREAT POWER OF REGENERATION.
It is theoretically possible to cut a worm in two pieces and each piece grow to be a new worm.
H. After a rain the earthworm comes to the surface of the ground. This is a very dangerous time, as birds and predators devour the exposed worms.
I. During adverse seasons the earth worms will dig deeper in the soil. Dry times, extreme cold, etc. the worm can hibernate until conditions improve.
J. Earth worms do man and the earth a great service by aerating and mineralizing the soil.
K. Earth worms are part of the worlds food chain. Many birds and small animals live by eating worms. In some society’s people consume worms.
III. A WORM’S VIEW: PERSPECTIVE THE WORM’S VIEW COMES WHEN YOU FAIL THE TEST ... PERSPECTIVE OF FOCUSING ON DISOBEDIENCE.
MANNA SIMPLY MEANT: WHAT IS THAT?
A. DAILY BREAD? VS. BIRTHDAY CAKE.
GOD HAD A TESTING SYSTEM --- AN ALLOTMENT...
Exodus 16:4 Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
B. Manna was like a coriander seed. It looked like a white frost on the ground. It was thought to taste like a wafer of honey. It could be baked, boiled, grounded or beaten into a mill.
C. GOD GAVE CLEAR DIRECTIONS AS HE PROVIDED FOOD FOR HIS PEOPLE. THE FOOD WOULD BE CALLED MANNA, OR AS SOME CALLED IT: ANGEL FOOD...
One was to gather one omer of manna per house hold individual a day.
Exodus 16:20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
D. The day before the Sabbath gather two omers per individual. There would be NO WORMS THE SECOND DAY ON THE SABBATH.
E. ANY OTHER DAY THE DISOBEDIENCE COST IN STINKING WORMS: THE WORMS CAME FROM CORRUPTION...
F. GO AHEAD AND BE HUNGRY STUBBORN PEOPLE.
Exodus 16:27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
G. GOD TOLD MOSES TO REMEMBER AND REMIND THE PEOPLE...
KEEP ONE OMER!!!
Exodus 16:33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the Lord, to be kept for your generations.
H. JESUS CALLS HIMSELF THE MANNA ---
DAILY BREAD NOT BIRTHDAY CAKE!
I. THE REAL WORM’S EYE VIEW OF MANNA WAS SIMPLE:
TRUST GOD? OR FACE THE WORM?
God promises his children DAILY BREAD ... not weekly or monthly.
Trust God or SMELL THE WORMS!
THE REAL LESSON OF THE WORM IS HOW LOW FORMS OF SPIRITUAL LIFE CAN BE. STAY AWAY FROM THE WORMS.
IV. FROM THIS WORM’S POINT OF VIEW I AM SO TIRED OF CHASING DONKEYS? WHY DO I HAVE TO CHASE DONKEYS?
DAILY MENIAL TASKS ARE JUST DAILY MENIAL TASKS UNTIL WE
COME TO THE WORD OF GOD AS A DIRECT REVELATION TO ME IN
THIS DONKEY MODE?
1 Samuel 9:3 And the DONKEYS of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the DONKEYS.
A. I want us to focus on a DANGER ZONE ... when we focus on problems, or the worm’s view. I guess a worm sees a lot of dirt and mud?
As a Christian I can focus on the dirt ... OR THE POSSIBILITY and MIRACLE POWER OF GOD ...
It is easy in life to develop the mental and spiritual attitude of forever focusing on PROBLEMS and CONFLICTS, thus seeing all the dirt.
This DIRT perspective can become a JOY KILLER and hinder the work of God. The Bible records many of God’s greatest workers focusing on problems and
conflict. God MUST get His people to focus beyond the problem and conflict to ever accomplish His Will.
B. As some read this, may the Holy Spirit help you see your focus is ALL WRONG, and your Faith must launch you into the depth and plan and purpose of God. Faith is a launch pad beyond the troubles and dirt of
this world.
Let us look at a man with the perspective of problems, a worm in the dirt. Saul was intensely focused on a problem. For several days, Saul so focused on his PROBLEM that he worried the rest of his family.
Saul’s mind set was on the problem. His problem was his dad’s donkeys. For some reason the donkeys decided that the grass was greener elsewhere.
C. With the total focus on the problem, Saul refused, directly or indirectly, to realize the lost donkeys were in the "PLAN OF THE MOST HIGH."
God needed to get Saul away from the house and to the place of the ANOINTING.

D. SAUL HAD TO HAVE A PAGADIGM SHIFT, GET OUT OF THE DIRT YOU ARE NOT A WORM!
1 Samuel 9:20 And as for thine donkeys that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father’s house?
The word of God from the man of God clearly stated, the man of God knew the problem also, lost donkeys.
Now God’s man is trying to change the perspective of Saul focused on the problem.
1 Samuel 9:21 And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?
E. SAUL HAD HIS FOCUS SET ON SELF AND HIS PERSONAL LIMITATIONS. I AM A WORM?
Saul set his perspective on him and his dysfunctional family. I am a Benjamite, the smallest.
My family is the smallest of the smallest, why talk to me?
This is crazy, Saul.
Your perspective is going to keep you from attaining God’s plan?
Wake up, BOY. GET UP!
You that are focusing on problems better wake up!
F. It becomes the man of God’s duty to not only get Saul’s mind off the problem, but to get his mind off circumstances and the past!
Samuel, what a great task you have.
Samuel’s call was to keep people focused on the WORD OF GOD.
THE MAN OF GOD HAS TO BRING THE WORD OF GOD TO A
PERSONAL REVELATION --- THE LIVING WORD ...
THE WORD OF GOD DOES THE WORK OF GOD!
1 Samuel 9:27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the
word of God.
"STAND THOU STILL A WHILE, THAT I MAY SHOW YOU THE
WORD OF GOD."
G. WHEN SAUL SEES THE WORD OF GOD,
HIS WHOLE PERSPECTIVE CHANGES FROM THE PROBLEM AND
PERSONAL/FAMILY LIMITATIONS.
I AM TRYING TO GET YOU TO SEE THE WORD OF GOD.
I AM TRYING TO SETTLE YOUR FAITH ON THE WORD OF GOD.
I AM TRYING TO GET YOU TO RELEASE THE PLAN OF GOD.
There comes miracles and change when we focus on THE WORD OF GOD. The Word of God brings a NEW PERSPECTIVE, A PERSONAL ANOINTING.
1 Samuel 10:1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?
Samuel takes the vial of oil, and pours it on Saul’s head, and GIVES Saul the KISS OF THE ANOINTING!
H. Saul is anointed over God’s inheritance.
ALL BECAUSE SAUL’S PERSPECTIVE WAS REDIRECTED FROM THE
PROBLEM TO THE PROMISE.
This had to become personal to Saul.
We must have God’s men/women to arise and proclaim the Word of God and set at liberty the plan of God.
Note the beauty of the anointing, Saul would never be the same.
1 Samuel 10:6 And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
7 And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.
I. See, the unqualified man from an unqualified family receives the perspective of the Word and becomes qualified to arise above the
problems into the realm of the VICTORIOUS.
1 Samuel 10:9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.
Is Saul among the prophets?
J. Will you let GOD GIVE?
God wants to settle your faith in HIS WORD and release His Plan and Purpose that will overcome all obstacles, but we must change our perspectives.
V. A WORM’S VIEW: PERSPECTIVE OF FOCUSING ON YOUR COMFORT ZONE --- RECALL THE PAST, I DON’T WANT REVIVAL! THERE IS A WORM OF PREJUDICE, BITTERNESS AND HATE. JONAH WAS BENT BY THE PAST.
Psalm 64:3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
A. There are 4 chapters in the Old Testament that have a great hidden lesson on unforgiveness, hatred and prejudice.
B. PREJUDICE:
A preconceived idea or opinion.
Bias, partiality,
Impaired validity.
Bent, slant.
C. JONAH COULD REMEMBER HISTORY OF THE PAST AND OF THE
PRESENT. NINEVAH WAS A NATION OF MEAN AND CRUEL PEOPLE.
D. JONAH COULD FIND GREAT SLEEP ON BOARD A SINKING SHIP?
He did not want revival.
Jonah 4:1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
E. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SO MUCH ANGER IN FAMILIIES AND THE CHURCH? WHY? Would you rather quit or die than submit?
F. When God’s people want JUDGMENT rather than REVIVAL, ANGER WILL BREW HOT IN THE CAMP OF GOD.
Jonah knew God’s mercy for himself and his people, but that is enough --- US FOUR --- NO MORE.
Jonah 4:2 And he prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God,
and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
G. I’DRATHER DIE --- JUST LEAVE ME IN MY COMFORT ZONE...
Jonah 4:3 Therefore now, O Lord, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live. 4 Then said the Lord, Doest thou well to be angry?
H. CAN WE ACCEPT THE GOD OF POSSIBILITIES AND MIRACLES?
THERE IS A MIRACLE FOR YOU! THERE IS A MIRACLE FOR NINEVAH! GOD HAD PREPARED A GOURD PLANT --- A SHADE --- A COMFORT ZONE...
I. GOD TRIED TO WAKE JONAH UP AND GOD PREPARED A WORM... THE WORM WOULD DESTROY THE SHADE OF COMFORT ...
Jonah 4:7 But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered.
J. CAN’T YOU HEAR THE MESSAGE FROM THE WORM’S POINT OF VIEW?
Hosea 11:7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
K. THE REAL LESSON OF THE WORM IS HOW LOW FORMS OF SPIRITUAL LIFE CAN BE. STAY AWAY FROM THE WORMS.
VI. A WORM’S VIEW: PERSPECTIVE OF FOCUSING ON HOW MUCH DIRT? NIGHT CRAWLERS LOVE DARKNESS?
HOW DOES A WORM’S VIEW OF THE MOUNTAIN DIFFER FROM AN
EAGLE’S POINT OF VIEW?
A. Saul the mighty man of God had fallen.
Saul was dead. Saul’s three sons were all dead on the same hill. Saul had to pay the terrible price for sin, disobedience and rebellion.
2 Samuel 1:19 The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen! 20 Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon;
lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
B. DAVID CALLED HIS MEN AROUND HIM AND SAID DON’T SPEAK OF THIS NEGATIVE GARBAGE IN GATH. This worm’s story is best left untold.
Don’t mention and DON’T PUBLISH THIS WORM’S EYE VIEW OF THE FALLEN MIGHTY --- LEST THE UNCHURCHED SINNER REJOICE AND TRIUMPH.
C. Could we discuss the difference between a MOLEHILL and a MOUNTAIN?
Could the difference be how much dirt there is?
D. WHO MADE YOU A POLICEMAN?
WHO MADE YOU A JUDGE?
1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

VII. CONCLUSION: WORMS ARE NICE, WE NEED WORMS IN THIS WORLD. BUT AS A REAL BELIEVER YOU MUST BELIEVE AND ACCEPT GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU --- GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE DIRT...

How important is this?
The wrong perspective can let you walk in the very presence of Jesus and not know the Divine Son of God walks with you?
The two men walked the Emmaus Road with Jesus and did
not recognize with whom they walked, because their perspective was on the problems.
As they sat with Jesus, His Word had trained their focus, a prayer and then the realization JESUS IS WITH US!
C. MY BROTHER, MY SISTER --- YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO...
DO YOU WANT TO...
I am telling you, today Jesus is walking with you, get your head up.
