Inferior Thinking Text: Revelation 22: 12-17
Anything that an individual sets his or her affections on other than Christ ultimately becomes inferior thinking and living. Anything the world offers or has is substandard compared to what Christ offers, and has in store for us! In other words, the very best the world has is nothing compared unto Christ and eternality.
12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. 16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
How many of you today have felt God’s Spirit upon you lately?
I Corinthians 1:9-10 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
God has many surprises in store for every believer, but He doesn’t intend for believers to be in the dark about eternity!
Selwyn Hughes say’s in his book Christ Empowered Living “If we do not drink deeply of the water that comes from Christ, than we will turn easily to other sources of satisfaction. This is how obsessions and compulsions occur. Things like habitual masturbation, pornography, and overeating have a tremendous appeal for us, when our spirits lack the joy and pleasure that comes from Jesus Christ.”
Say, Eternity is my reward! Revelation 22: 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
The very tree that Adam and Eve had to be driven away from (the tree of life) is the very tree that every believer will get to partake of!
Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
As you place Christ and His word first you can expect certain things: 1. Peace. 2. Joy. 3. Favor. 4. Smile. 5. A new out look. 6. You and God are going to have yourself a party!
Listen, the best the world has is nothing compared to Christ and His anointing!
Jesus said in Matthew 6: 25-34 Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Say, Inferior Thinking! Anything less than Christ; less than trusting His Spirit, His word and His angels is inferior thinking!
John 14: 1-4 "Don’t let this throw you. You trust God, don’t you? Trust me. There is plenty of room for you in my Father’s home. If that weren’t so, would I have told you that I’m on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I’m on my way to get your room ready, I’ll come back and get you so you can live where I live. And you already know the road I’m taking."
John Maxwell tells of attending the funeral of Jane Chapman, wife of his good friend Tom Chapman. The following poem was read during her service and John said later it altered his thinking about eternity forever. “I am standing on the seashore. A ship appears, spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her till at last she fades away on the horizon. Somebody at my side quietly says, ‘she is gone.’ Gone where? Gone from my vision, that is all; she is just as large as when I saw her last. The diminished size and loss of sight is in me, not her; and just at the moment when someone at my side says ‘she is gone,’ there are others who are watching her coming, and voices take up the joyful shout, ‘Here she comes!”’
Phil. 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Once more, anything other than trusting in and having a relationship with Christ Jesus is inferior!
