CAN YOU SEE GOD’S RAINBOW IS A PROMISE?? LOOK FOR GOD!

I. GOD IS CALLING HIS PEOPLE TO LIFT UP THEIR HEADS!
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
A. On April 12, 1989 at 3:33 I dreamed a dreamed, and I got up and wrote about the dream.
I called the dream: SEEING YOUR RAINBOW?
There was a huge beautiful rainbow in the sky, a double rainbow.
B. And everyone was content to walk around and look at the dirt and the ground.
I called peoples’ attention to the rainbow, and I described the beauty and brightness of the colors, and few would lift up their head.
C. A few would glance up and start back at their menial work, with a so what look on their face.
D. I tried to tell them there is MORE THAN A RAINBOW, there is a PROMISE BEHIND THE RAINBOW --- then I tried to get those depressed and gloomy to see beyond the
rainbow, BEYOND THE PROMISE --- AND KNOW THE GOD BEHIND THE PROMISE.
E. I felt the Holy Spirit saying, QUIT CRYING AND LOOK UNTO THE GOD OF THE HILLS, FROM WHENCE COMES OUR HELP.
Psalm 121:1 A Song of degrees.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
Psalm 46:1 To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the
swelling thereof. Selah.
II. CAN WE SEE THE TOKEN OF THE COVENANT?
WE HAVE AN AMEN, A FIRM, FAITHFUL PROMISE, A CONFIRMATION
A. DID YOU KNOW A DOLLAR IS WORTH A FEW CENTS?
It is the confidence behind the money that makes the money of value.
B. TOKEN:
An outward sign of an internal process.
A symbol, reminder or mark.
C. AT WHAT VALUE DO WE ASSIGN GOD’S TOKENS?
Rainbow? The broken bread? The Grape juice? The anointing oil?
D. When I was a young boy my Dad pastored a mission work in Covington, KY.
The store front church was between two bars.
A man came running to the front of the church and stole the bottle of anointing oil, can you imagine how stupid he felt when he saw the label: Olive Oil?
The value is not the oil, but the God behind the oil!
E. COVENANT:
A solemn pledge or promise.
A serious agreement
F. CONTRACT:
When your word is your bond, a legal, binding agreement.
Genesis 9:9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; 10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast
of the earth. 11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the
everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. 17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
III. THE TOKEN OF THE RAINBOW PLACED LIMITS AND RESTRAINTS, BUT THE PROMISE WAS NOT THAT THERE WOULD NEVER AGAIN BE A STORM, OR NO LOCAL FLOODING.
A. Bright sunny days usually offer no remembrance of God’s promise.
B. Gen. 9:14 --- "I will bring a cloud over the earth ...
C. A cloud may temporarily hide the sun from view.
D. The sun is still there, even when we can’t see it.
1 Cor. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
IV. A TOKEN IS A SPIRITUAL EXPRESSION FOR THE EYES TO SEE!
A. Real faith and hope must develop far beyond feelings, visions, emotions, and stress, yet God does testify of His work on occasions by the senses.
B. We have had many tokens:
1. The fig leaves were not enough, the animal skin spoke of that to come.
2. On the eight day, circumcision.
3. Blood on the door post.
4. Unleavened bread.
5. The DOVE.
C. Spiritual tokens should really speak to THE UNBELIEVERS, believers should trust the promise.
V. HOW MANY COLORS ARE IN THE RAINBOW?
A. SEVEN COLORS CAN BE SEEN:
1. ORANGE: speaks of conquest, winning, overcoming through all trials.
2. INDIGO: color between blue and violet, the sky, God’s plan.
3. VIOLET: purple --- majestic, kingdom, royal, sovereign
4. YELLOW: gold like, prosperity, blessings, ( life- egg yoke), to thrive, flourish.
5. RED: COLOR OF BLOOD, LIFE GIVING, vigorous, power, relief, ATONEMENT, forgiveness.
6. BLUE: represents, soundness, HOLINESS, priest and Godly men wore blue shashs,curtains and furnishings in the temple were blue. Water the essential of life.
7. GREEN: growth, life, fruit not mature yet, life supporting, protecting life.
B. The rainbows message is clear.
VI. YOU HAVE TO RAISE YOUR HEAD ABOVE THE PROBLEMS TO FOCUS ON RAINBOWS.
A. A rainbow usually is of very brief duration.
Rainbows are usually during or after rain.
B. THE TWO MEN WALKING DOWN THE EMMAUS ROAD HAD THEIR HEADS DOWN. THEY WERE SAD, THEIR HOPE WAS GONE.
JESUS IS DEAD, HAVEN’T YOU HEARD?
C. WE TRUSTED IN HIM --- TRUSTED IS PAST TENSE.
Luke 24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
THE TWO MEN WALKED WITH JESUS AND COULDN’T SEE HIM?
D. If the road is up hill?
And your pace is slow?
Your funds are low? Your debt is high?
Cares are pressing you on every side,
STICK TO THE FIGHT,
WHEN YOU ARE HIT HARD, PRAY HARD.
If you can’t win the race, make the guy in front of you: SET A NEW RECORD!
VII. THE DAY NEBUCHADNEZZAR LIFTED HIS HEAD,
GOD DELIVERED HIM, AND RESTORED HIM.
A. Nebuchadnezzar always had the wrong focus and priority system. He had a breakdown?
Daniel 4:34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting
dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
B. LOOK UP, TRY AGAIN, RAISE YOUR HEAD HIGH, TRUST A HOLY GOD.
VIII. EVERY COMMON BUSH IS A FLAME WITH GOD’S GLORY, BUT ONLY HE WHO SEES TAKES HIS SHOES OFF.
A. Slaves never wore shoes, the prodigal son returned as a slave, his Dad put shoes on his feet, and accepted him as a son.
B. No shoes was a sign of humiliation.
Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
C. To remove your shoes was a token of great respect.
One washes his feet and took his shoes off when they felt at home.
D. When they were doing business transactions they took their shoes off. BOAZ in the book of Ruth.
E. When David climbed the mount of Olivet, he was crying and covered his head,
and he and all the men with him took their shoes off. 2 Sam. 15:30
IX. YOUR SIGNATURE IS UNIQUE AND TELLS SOMETHING ABOUT THE WRITER. EVERY PROMISE IN THE BOOK IS MINE,
EVERY CHAPTER, EVERY VERSE, EVERY LINE,
ALL ARE PROMISES OF GOD DIVINE... EVERY PROMISE IN THE BOOK IS MINE.
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
A. God signed His Holy Contract with man in a unique way. I am told the right person can tell a lot about a person by their signature
and style of writing.
B. You can tell a lot about OUR GOD BY HIS RAINBOW SIGNATURE.
C. The world is trying to distort the symbolism of the RAINBOW, BUT WE KNOW AND THE BIBLE SAYS.
