The Reason for Everything Text: Romans 11:33-36
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 34 “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” 35 “Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” 36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
Can we really understand God? We sure can! As we yeild our lives unto Him He will yeild Himself unto us. Listen once again unto vs. 33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
Paul asks the question, who knows the mind of the Lord? Who has become His counselor? In vs. 36 Paul answers his own question. 36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
Listen to Paul’s prayer for us. Eph. 3:17-19 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
God desires for us to be able to understand His ways! Even though He is beyond our comprehence He desires that we should really know Him!
God is the reason for everything! Proverbs 16:3-4a Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established. 4 The LORD has made all for Himself,
5 ways we bring glory unto God: 1. When we worship Him! C.S. Lewis wrote, “We worship God by enjoying Him.” (Real worship comes when we are motivated by our love for Him!) John Piper once said, “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.”
2. We bring glory unto God by loving others! Romans 15:7 Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
3. We bring glory unto God by becoming like Christ! II Cor. 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
What is the glory of God? It is who God is. It is the essence of His nature, the weight of His importance, the radiance of His splendor, the demonstration of His power, and the atmosphere of His presence.
Where is the glory of God? Just look around. Everything created by God reflects His glory in some way! Isa. 43:7 Bring all who claim Me as their God, for I have made them for My glory. It was I who created them.’”
4. We bring God glory by serving others with our gifts. You were wired to need others and others to need you, so learn to serve! John 1: 16 Amp. 16For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift.
5. We bring God glory by telling others about Him! God can not be kept a secret. As you tell and show other’s Christ by your actions you will experience joy!
Psalm 126:1-3 1 When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion,We were like those who dream.2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”3 The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad.
God hungers for you to dream again, to be filled with laughter, your tongue with singing,so you can truely say, " the Lord has done great things and I am!"
