glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
SUFFICIENT
ENOUGH OR MORE THAN ENOUGH TO MEET THE NEED
AS MUCH AS NEEDED
AS MANY AS IS REQUIRED
ADEQUATE OR MORE THAN ADEQUATE
SUFFICIENT SUFFICE
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
MANY TIMES I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HERE?
WHY AM I HERE? I DO NOT KNOW THERE THE ANSWER TO WHY WE ARE HERE?
BUT I WILL TELL YOU SOMETIMES TO GET THERE WE HAVE TO COME THROUGH HERE.
I. WE MUST DO MORE THAN JUST TO KNOW GOD’S WORDS, WE MUST EXERCISE FAITH AND APPLY GOD’S WORDS TO OUR CHOICES ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS.
A. Do we read God’s word, mediate, ponder, dwell upon, and know God’s promises?
B. I know about Abraham Lincoln, but I never knew him.
I have been in Abraham Lincoln’s home in Springfield, Illinois many times.
I worked in the building that housed Mr. Lincoln’s law offices on the square in downtown Springfield.
I held Abraham Lincoln’s walking stick in my hand.
C. I have read about Lincoln many times.
BUT I NEVER KNEW LINCOLN!
D. I think those that sat down with Lincoln, ate meals with him, walked with him,
knew Lincoln --- I KNOW ABOUT LINCOLN --- BUT I DID NOT KNOW HIM.
E. By this same premise, you can come to church, sing beautiful songs and even raise your hands to the Savior Jesus Christ, you can know about Him,
and NEVER KNOW HIM.
II. JOSHUA HAD FOLLOWED MOSES AND LEARNED MANY GREAT LESSONS. JOSHUA KNEW THAT GOD WAS A REWARDER.
JOSHUA WAS PREPARED TO POSSESS THE BLESSINGS AND PROMISES OF GOD.
A. GOD’S SPIRIT AND GUIDANCE WILL HELP US TO KNOW AND ACCOMPLISH GOD’S WILL.
B. GOD’S PLAN IS PROGRESSIVE AND CONTINUAL.
C. When the LORD SAYS --- we listen --- the victory is sweet ---
Joshua 6:2 And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
D. Joshua knew God’s promise of the land of milk and honey!
Joshua knew personally God’s plan, ---
and through GOOD COMMICATION SKILLS Joshua passed the plan of God to the people.
E. WHEN GOD’S PEOPLE WORK IN LOVE AND UNITY, COOPERATION AND MUTUAL WORK WITHIN GOD’S PLAN --- WE WILL MOVE TO POSSESS GOD’S BLESSINGS AND PROMISES AND MOVE TOWARD REAL DELIVERANCE.
F. God promised and Joshua lead the people across the JORDAN RIVER.
When the Priest that were carrying the Ark of the Covenant stepped with their feet --- in the Jordan, they stood firm and GOD’S PLAN STARTS TO BE REVEALED ...
G. WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH HERE TO GET TO THERE?
H. GOD GAVE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS:
PUT SEVEN PRIEST WITH SEVEN TRUMPETS IN FRONT OF THE PEOPLE.
NOW STAY VERY QUIET --- NO TALKING --- NO NEGATIVE MESSAGES ---
WALK AROUND JERICHO ONE TIME A DAY FOR SIX DAYS.
AFTER THE FIRST DAY THOSE THAT LIVED IN JERICHO CAME AND STOOD ON THE WALL AND MOCKED GOD’S PLAN?
ON THE SEVENTH DAY WALK AROUND JERICHO 7 TIMES ...
I. REQUIRED DECLARATION OF FAITH.
TODAY WE HAVE THE TENDANCY TO DESIRE TO SHOUT AND TESTIFY AFTER WE SEE THE VICTORY --- JOSHUA’S INSTRUCTION FROM GOD IS YOU MUST SHOUT FIRST...
Joshua 6:16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the Lord hath given you the city.
J. Doubt wants to see signs and then shout ---
Faith shows and then sees!
We had to be here to get to there!
III. JOSHUA KNEW GOD, JOSHUA KNEW GOD’S PLAN ... BUT SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY JOSHUA FORGOT TO HEAR GOD’S PLAN FOR THAT DAY...
GREAT SUCCESS CAN LEAD TO GREAT DOWNFALLS?
PRESUMPTION AND THE LACK OF SEEKING GOD IS DANGEROUS.
MAN’S PLAN MUST BE BASED ON FAITH NOT ON THE ABILITY OF THE FLESH, BUT RATHER TRUSTING GOD.
A. Now we have had this great success here, so NOW OVER THERE IS NOTHING?
B. The people had great success! The Victory and the ANOINTING are visible.
We are strong? We are invincible, we have a guaranteed victory ---
C. TRUSTING THE FLESH MEANS NO ONE SOUGHT GOD’S PLAN?
WE DON’T NEED GOD’S PLAN BUT IN THE BIG THINGS?
Joshua 7:3 And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not
all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.
D. JERICHO WAS BIG AND WALLED AND IMPOSSIBLE ---
AI IS NOTHING? AI IS SO LITTLE AND WEAK?
E. Joshua has a gathering of the leaders, they speak of how little and weak AI must be, and they DEVELOP A PLAN BY THE EYES AND BY THE FLESH.
THE ISSUE IS THE MATTER OF THE HEART?
F. WHEN GOD’S PEOPLE HAVE HEARTS AS WATER ---
THE PROMISE IS NOT EFFECTIVE...
Joshua 7:5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the
going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
G. WHERE ARE THE BLESSINGS? WHERE ARE THE PROMISES NOW?
H. ACHAN WAS NOT AN ISLAND TO HIMSELF ---
36 FAMILIES WITHOUT THEIR HEROS?
36 SETS OF CHILDREN THAT ARE NOW ORPHANES?
THERE HAS BEEN A TAKING OF THE ACCURSED?
I. FULFILLMENT OF DIVINE PROMISES AND GOD’S BLESSINGS DEPEND ON SUBMISSION, UNITY, COOPERATION, FAITHFULNESS, TRUST, AND OBEDIENCE.
IV. IT IS A SAD DAY WHEN GOD’S CHOSEN MEN DON’T REALIZE THAT THEY ARE MOVING WITHIN PRESUMPTION --- THEY HAVE LOST CONTACT WITH REALITY, AND THUS MOVE AWAY FROM THE DIVINE PROMISES AND THE BLESSINGS.
A. Samson had slowly drifted away from God’s plan.
Samson saw a woman --- DADDY I WANT HER ---
Son she is not what God has intended for you ---
B. Then there is another girl, he plans to marry...
Then another ---
C. SAMSON’S BAD ATTITUTES AND WORDS SLOWLY MAKE A STRONG MAN WEAK.
Judges 16:20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself.
And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.
D. THE PROMISES AND THE BLESSINGS SEEM TO TAKE THE BACK SEAT, AND SAMSON SELLS HIMSELF TO FAILURE AND DOOM.
E. YET SAMSON WIST NOT THE GLORY WAS GONE.
V. CALEB AND JOSHUA KNEW SOMETHING ABOUT THE SHEKINAH GLORY PRESENCE OF A HOLY GOD ... GOD IS A GOD OF THE MORE THAN ENOUGH...
SHECHINAH OR SHEKIAH MEANS THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN THIS WORLD.
CALEB MAKES A GREAT DECLARATION OF FAITH ---
Numbers 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
A. CALEB HAD AN HOLY CONVICTION --CALEB TRUSTED GOD --
THUS CALEB BELIEVED THE PROMISE WAS FOR THEM THAT DAY!
B. CALEB MADE A CONFESSION ---
Caleb did not deny there were giants and walled cities,
Caleb could see the GOD BEHIND THE PROMISES ---
Caleb knew that GOD DESIRED TO BLESS HIS PEOPLE AND SHOW HIS POWER ---
C. Caleb’s FAITH was not blind, Caleb never DENIED REALITY --- Caleb’s FAITH KNEW HE COULD TRUST THE UNSEEN HAND ---
D. WHEN WE SEE GIANTS, DO WE PROJECT AND MAKE OUR SELVES SEEM AS GRASSHOPPERS?
Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
E. DO WE FOCUS ON THE I AM?
DOES FAITH GENERATE GOOD REPORTS?
TO RELEASE FAITH WE MUST KNOW THE SPIRIT OF FAITHFULNESS.
F. FAITHLESS BAD REPORTS --- DON’T BELIEVE GOD!
THEY DON’T BELIIEVE IN GOD?
BAD REPORTS GIVE BIRTH BY KNOWING ABOUT GOD, BUT NOT KNOWING GOD IN A PERSONAL WAY.
G. WHAT REPORT WILL WE GIVE?
WILL WE KNOW HIS SHEKINAH GLORY --- HIS PRESENCE IS EVERYTHING?
H. HOW WILL YOU REACT TO THE REPORTS GIVEN AROUND YOU?
WILL WE NOT SEE THAT GOD IS MORE THAN ENOUGH?
FAITHLESS, NEGATIVE, BAD REPORTS REFUSE TO TRUST GOD AND THESE REPORTS CAUSE US TO DEFAME THE NAME OF A HOLY GOD.
Numbers 14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in
the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
CONCLUSION:
WHY ARE WE HERE?
Philip. 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
BECAUSE FOR US TO GET TO THERE WE HAD TO COME THROUGH HERE.
GOD’S PLAN IS MORE THAN ENOUGH.
Accept that God’s plan has us somewhere between grace and mercy and we must stay in this place.
Discontentment with GOD’S PROVISIONS MAY EXPOSE A COMPLETE LACK OF TRUST IN GOD AND IN GOD’S PROMISES AND BLESSINGS.
WILL YOU TRUST GOD?
WILL YOU TRUST GOD TO SUPPLY OUR NEEDS IN HIS DUE TIME?
ARE YOU WILLING TO WAIT?
DO YOU REALIZE THAT COMPLAINING AND FAULT FINDING ARE TRAITS OF IMMATURITY?
GOD’S PLAN BRINGS US FROM HERE TO WHERE HE HAS PREPARED FOR US. ARE WE READY TO STAND ON THE PROMISE AND RECEIVE MORE THAN ENOUGH? DO YOU KNOW GOD’S PROMISES FOR YOU?
DO YOU DESIRE GOD’S BLESSINGS THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO CONTAIN?
