Praying For Your Enemies

Summary: We should pray for our enemies
I. Why should we pray for our enemies?
a. That you will be like your father in Heaven v. 45
b. He causes and allows good and bad to happen to both the good and the evil.
c. How patient has God been with you in your lifetime and should we not also be equally patient with our enemies.
d. We must pray without wrath and anger or bitterness I Timothy 2:8
II. What should we pray for our enemies? 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
a. That God would reconcile our enemies to Himself
b. That God would not impute their sins to them.
c. That Christ would be sin for them as He is for us.
d. Colossians 1:9 That after salvation they would be filled with God’s knowledge and wisdom to replace the wordly knowledge and wisdon thye now have and depend on.
e. I Thessalonians 5:23 That they would be sanctified
f. That they would be preserved blameless
I. How are we to pray for our enemies? Ephesians 6:11-18
-Recognize who the enemy really is.
i. it is not people
ii. it is not politicians
iii. it is not terrorists
-Be strong in the Lord
i. This is not an option it is a command of God
-Put on the Armor of God
