At approximately 2:45 AM, I awoke with an immediate and significant burden for the escalating violence in Nigeria, specifically the alarming prevalence of terrorism, genocide, and the associated evils of banditry, killings, and kidnappings Ah, my dear brother/sister in the Lord! I hear your heart's cry, and it is the cry of every true believer who sees the ravages of darkness trying to consume our beloved nation, Nigeria. The devil is a liar, and his works of terrorism and genocide shall be destroyed by the power of the Living God!
As a Minister with decades in the vineyard, I know that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord raises a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). We must not only complain, but we must pray—with fire, with faith, and with authority!
Take these Prayer points, anchor them on the Word, and let the Church of God rise up in a unified, prevailing prayer effort!
🔥 Prayer Points to Drive Out Evil from Nigeria 🔥
I. Praying for the Destruction of Evil Structures (Spiritual Warfare)
For the Uprooting of Evil Altars: We declare the judgment of the Almighty God upon every territorial altar, demonic covenant, and spiritual stronghold empowering terrorism and genocide in Nigeria. (Jeremiah 1:10; 2 Corinthians 10:4)
For the Confusion of the Wicked: Lord, release a mighty confusion, division, and scattering into the camps of every terrorist group, their sponsors, and their collaborators. Let their counsel be turned into foolishness, just as You confused the builders of Babel. (Psalm 35:4; Job 5:12)
For the Exposure of Hidden Agendas: Heavenly Father, shine the light of the Holy Ghost into the darkness. Expose and neutralize every secret network, every hidden financier, and every highly placed individual supporting these wicked acts. (Luke 12:2-3; Ephesians 5:13)
II. Praying for Divine Intervention and Deliverance
For Divine Protection over the Saints: We decree the covering of the Blood of Jesus over every Christian, every community, and every church in the affected regions. Let Psalm 91 be our reality—a thousand may fall, but it shall not come near us! (Psalm 91:7; Zechariah 2:5)
For the Release of Captives: Lord, by Your mighty hand, let every person held captive, young and old, be miraculously released. Break every chain and shatter every iron bar. (Acts 12:7; Psalm 107:14)
For Immediate Cessation of Attacks: We stand on the authority of Jesus Christ and command every ongoing or planned attack of terrorism and banditry to cease right now, in the Name of Jesus! (Mark 4:39; Luke 10:19)
III. Praying for the Nation's Leaders and Security
For Wisdom and Courage for Leaders: Grant our President, Governors, and all security chiefs divine wisdom, clarity of vision, and the political will to take decisive action against the enemies of the nation. (Proverbs 11:14; 1 Timothy 2:1-2)
For the Power of God on Security Forces: Empower the Nigerian military and all security agencies. Grant them superior intelligence, divine precision, and supernatural protection as they confront the insurgents. Let them become a terror to the wicked. (Psalm 18:32-34)
For Righteousness in Government: We pray for a purification in the justice system and governance, that You will enthrone righteous people who will judge justly and stand for truth, for "righteousness exalts a nation." (Proverbs 14:34; Psalm 7:9)
IV. Praying for the Church and the Victims
For the Church to be United in Prayer: Stir up a new hunger and thirst for fervent, persistent prayer across all denominations, that the Church in Nigeria will function as the Ekklesia God ordained it to be. (2 Chronicles 7:14; Matthew 16:18)
For the Comfort of the Bereaved: Lord, send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to heal the broken-hearted, console those who have lost loved ones, and restore all that the enemy has stolen from them. (Isaiah 61:1-3; Joel 2:25)
For the Conversion of the Persecutors: In the spirit of Christ and Stephen, we pray that Your saving grace will reach the hearts of the terrorists and their agents. Turn them from their wicked ways, just as You arrested Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus. (Matthew 5:44; Acts 9:1-6)
V. Praying for National Healing and Revival
For a National Repentance and Reconciliation: Help us, O Lord, to turn from every tribalism, corruption, and wickedness in the land. Heal our internal divisions and grant us true unity as one nation under God. (Psalm 133:1; James 4:8-10)
For an Outburst of Great Revival: Let the fire of the Holy Ghost sweep across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Let salvation and the demonstration of God's power become common place, drawing all men to Christ. (Acts 2:17-21; Habakkuk 3:2)
For Divine Peace and Lasting Stability: We declare that peace, established by the Prince of Peace, shall reign over Nigeria. Let the sound of mourning be replaced by the sound of joyful praise and national celebration. (Isaiah 9:6-7; Philippians 4:7)
