Summary: Three prayers stages: 1. ASK, 2. SEEK, 3. KNOCK... Either we will trust God and have a good day or we will grow weary? It is up to you.

PRAYER: WILL YOU MAKE TODAY A REALLY, REALLY GOOD DAY?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

TEXT:

SEEMS WE HAVE LOWERED THE STANDARD OF PRAYER, WE MUST COME TO GOD AND BE DIRECT.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

3 STEPS IN PRAYER:

1. ASK: (It will be given.) Ask is words of communication. Are we taking our needs and request to the throne room of God? Ask and God’s ears will attend to our request.

2. SEEK: (You will find.) We must start looking around with FAITH EYES. Acknowledge God can handle this… Actively and eagerly searching.

3. KNOCK: (Be opened.) Knock is to step out in faith. Not every door opens instantly. We can find God behind this door. To knock is to gain admittance and come in…

GOOD PRAYER FLOWS ASK… KEEP ASKING. SEEK AND KEEP SEEKING. KNOCK WE MUST KEEP KNOCKING. We boldly lay our petitions and requests before God’s throne in Jesus name.

Prayer is not cutting deals and making bargains with God. We must come to the throne by asking, seeking and knocking boldly. We cannot be bashful--- petition God with our needs. It is not peek-a-boo. Peek-a-boo Jesus.

SOMETIMES WHAT GOD SPEAKS TO US IS MORE THAN A MERE SUGGESTION… LET US ADDRESS IMPERATIVE COMMANDS…

My dad was pushing pieces of limbs and wood in the wheelbarrow. I loved to walk before him and throw a little limb in front of the wheel. Immediately the wheelbarrow would come to a halt. Wow, this was fun. Dad caught me? Dad said: You do that one more time and you are in trouble. As I walked beside dad… the wheelbarrow came to a sudden stop. I yelled dad I am innocent. See a little limb fell off the wheel barrow and went under the tire. I had to go into time out. I was guilty before, oh well. PRAYER IS SO IMPORTANT TO KEEPING THE WHEELBARROW ROLLING. Don’t allow problems to throw you.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

EITHER YOU TRUST GOD --- OR YOU DON’T? A troubled heart is a RED LIGHT SIGNAL. Why do we refuse to see worry, fear, anxiety and trouble as a COG IN THE WHEEL OF THE WHEELBARROW? Does this command appear BOSSY to you?

OH, CAN’T YOU SEE I DON’T WANT TO BOTHER GOD? GOD DESIRES FOR US TO MAKE OUR NEEDS AND REQUEST KNOWN.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

We can look at molehills and turn them into mountains pretty easy. Negativity breeds negativity.

The negativity has a snow ball effect. Just roll your snow ball going down a hill and watch it gain momentum and enlarge itself. Be honest, why do we fret and worry. We have a new opportunity by praying. We can ask, seek and knock. We could release praises and turn our worries into prayer request. Just talk to God. God knows our distress and problems...

IS WORRY A CHOICE? IT IS GOING TO BE A REALLY, REALLY GOOD DAY!

I CHALLENGE YOU TO TELL ME 10 BENEFITS OF ANXIETY AND WORRY?

We don’t have to worry about anything; because we have an opportunity to pray about everything.

THERE IS AN INVITATION: COME? WHO CAN COME? YOU CAN’T PLAY UP AND DOWN SPIRITUAL GAMES. EITHER YOU PRAY AND BELIEVE OR YOU WILL WORRY AND FRET --- YOU DETERMINE THE DISTANCE IN WHICH YOU WILL FOLLOW JESUS.

What does WEARY MEAN? WEARY IS A CONDITION OF PHYSICAL TIREDNESS. Weary can be a HEART and SPIRIT PROBLEM. The lack of rest, extreme tiredness, impatient, dissatisfied.

Weary in well doing…???

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

WEARINESS CAN BE A SIGN OF BURNOUT AND LACK OF TRUSTING AND PRAYING… IF WE WILL FOCUS ON JESUS IN PRAYER AND GOD’S WORD… THE ANSWER IS GOD STRENGTHENS HIS PEOPLE…

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

DO WE HEAR THE INVITATION COME? Come is more than an invitation… COME IS AN IMPERATIVE COMMAND… and order from headquarters.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
