Summary: There are those who claim that Peter never married, but these verses prove that he did. Evidentially, he took Jesus home for dinner, but when they got there, his mother-in-law was sick with a fever. Jesus touched her and she was healed at that instant,

It is interesting to note that demons recognized Him, and they believed in Him, but they were not saved. God does not have a plan to redeem Satan and his demons.

-Luke-

And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. (Luke 4:38-39)

Peter’s mother-in-law had a “great fever", so her condition must have been serious. Jesus rebuked the fever and she immediately arose and ministered unto them. Every time Jesus healed, there were instantaneous results. They did not get better over time. The Lord dealt with sin in the same manner.

Do you believe in divine healing? I do. I believe that all healing is from God. A surgeon may take out the offending part, but God does the healing, and a medical doctor may give you the proper pill, but God does the healing.

Now when the sun was setting, all they that had sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them. And devils also came out of many, Crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. (Luke 4:40-41)

Jesus moved among the people healing them one-by-one. He healed them in a wonderful way, by touching them. He bore their sickness and disease in a sympathetic way, despite the fact that Israel esteemed Him stricken (wouded or affected by disease or troubles.). He did not heal these people on the basis of their faith, as far as we know. He healed them from a heart of compassion, which moved Him, on their behalf. We are told to have such a heart today, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)
