Peace: 3rd Fruit Of The Spirit.

The world is searching for peace. NO JESUS, NO PEACE! KNOW JESUS, KNOW PEACE. We know THE LORD IS OUR PEACE. Any peace out of God is a PSEUDO-PEACE. (Pretend, sham, counterfeit)

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

We are studying the 9 FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT. These lesson will be dealing with the 3rd FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: PEACE. PEACE CAN COME IN THREE MEASURES: PEACE WITH OTHERS, PEACE WITH SELF, AND PEACE WITH GOD. JESUS IS KNOWN AS THE PRINCE OF PEACE. Country people understand we run around like a chicken with its head cut off.

*PEACE: completeness, calmness of mind and spirit, rest, stillness, tranquility, quiet, to be free from persecution, harmony, the absence of hostility, no violence, friendship, cessation of war and strife,

*SHALOM: a Jewish salutation used when you meet or part. (Hello/goodbye) Shalom means peace/health. Shalom means PEACE…

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT OF PEACE IS A DIVINE GIFT. GOD’S PEACE IS NOT EARNED OR DESERVED… IT IS A GIFT… A FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS MORE THAN A PEACE KEEPER , IT IS A PEACE MAKER. DIVINE PEACE IS A GREAT REASSURANCE BEYOND WHAT HUMANITY CAN BRING. HOPE BEYOND THE HANDS OF A MAN.

Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:8 (MSG) At day's end I'm ready for sound sleep, For you, GOD, have put my life back together.

THE PEACEKEEPER WAS A 45 PISTOL, A REPEATING REVOLVER MADE BY THE COLT COMPANY. THERE A DIFFERENCE IN A PEACE KEEPER AND A PEACE MAKER? BLESSED IS THE PEACE MAKER…

A peacekeeper try to avoid the difficulty. They works toward an artificial forced peace. A peace keeper is like a cruise ship trying to please everyone. Peace makers are like those on a battle ship they face the conflict to resolve it.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:9 (MSG) "You're blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That's when you discover who you really are, and your place in God's family.

WE SPEAK OF THE KISS OF PEACE… THAT IS WHEN WE COME AND LEAVE IN PEACE. Peace is a process and an outcome. We must understand we live in a HOSTILE, CRUEL AND MEAN WORLD. Some would teach a false lesson that peace means we will never face problems, strife and struggles.

JESUS CLEARLY TAUGHT WE WOULD HAVE TROUBLE IN THIS WORLD. WE MUST KNOW WHILE WE WILL HAVE STRUGGLES AND TRIALS WE DON’T HAVE TO LIVE IN DOUBT AND BE AFRAID…

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

SHALOM DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN WE WILL HAVE A JOURNEY ABSENT FROM CONFLICT , BITTERNESS AND PAIN.

WE UNDERSTAND HARMONY IS A PROCESS, HARMMONY WITH OTHERS, HARMONY WITH SELF AND HARMONY WITH GOD… SHALOM.

*HARMONY: agreement, accord, no disagreement, no arguing, no fighting, agreement.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT OPERATES IN PEACE AND OBEDIENCE.

Psalm 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Psalm 119:165 (NLT2) Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.

FEW EVER LEARN THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IN THE DEPTH OF GOD’S PURPOSE. IS PERFECT PEACE AVAILABLE TO US?

Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:3 (MSG) People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, Steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don't quit.

Isaiah 26:3 (NLT2) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

SOMETIMES PEACE IS A SELF-DISCIPLINE AND WE HAVE TO MAKE IT APPLY TO US.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT OF PEACE MEANS WE ACCEPT THE TARGET AS A MEANS FOR GOD. GOD DESIRES US TO ROLL OUR BURDENS UPON HIM.
