Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Our pain in the wilderness is not wasted; God can use it for His glory and to bless others.
Let's talk about something we all know a bit about - pain. Not just the "I stubbed my toe" kind of pain, but the deep, heart-wrenching stuff. The kind of pain that comes when life doesn't go as planned.
You know, Joseph from the Bible knew a thing or two about pain. His brothers were so jealous of him that they sold him into slavery. Talk about a rough day! But here's the thing, Joseph didn't let his pain define him. He trusted that God could use his situation for good.
Joseph didn't let his pain define him. He trusted that God could use his situation for good.
Show a picture of a lump of coal and a diamond. Explain how a diamond is just a lump of coal that handled stress exceptionally well. Just like the diamond, we can shine bright even after going through tough times.
So, what's your lump of coal? What's the pain you're dealing with right now? Maybe it's a broken friendship, a tough family situation, or feeling like you don't fit in. Whatever it is, remember this: God can use your pain for something greater.
Joseph's story didn't end in slavery. He ended up being a big shot in Egypt and saved a lot of people, including his own family. His pain led to blessings for others. And guess what? God can do the same with your pain.
Next time you're going through a tough time, try to see it from God's perspective. Ask yourself, "What can I learn from this? How can God use this for good?" It's not easy, but it can change the way you see your situation.
Let's wrap this up with a prayer. God, life can be tough sometimes. But we know that You're with us in the pain, just like You were with Joseph. Help us to trust You, even when it hurts. Use our pain for Your glory and to bless others. Amen.

2. How can we trust God when we're in pain?
3. How does Joseph's story inspire you to see your pain differently?
4. What is one way you can show trust in God this week in the midst of a painful situation?
