Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Are you tired of the devil meddling with your life, your family, your finances, and your faith? Jesus says, 'Enough Is Enough!' Are you exhausted from the cycle of drugs, alcohol, unstable relationships, or job hopping? Jesus provides the answer and the way out.
Have you ever felt tired of the devil messing with you, your family, your finances, and your faith? Jesus is saying, "Enough Is Enough!" Have you ever been tired of using drugs, alcohol, or constantly seeking new relationships or jobs? Well, Jesus understands that feeling too.
Matthew 4:1-11 (NIV)
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." 4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: ''He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" 7 Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." 10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" 11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
We all know that John the Baptist baptized Jesus, and after that, Jesus was immediately led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting for forty days and nights, Jesus was hungry. Isn't it just like the devil to come and tempt us when we are at our weakest?
But Jesus showed us that enough is enough!
First, we need to be prepared. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 2:9, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." The devil will always try to distract us from what we are supposed to do. He tried to make Jesus turn stones into bread to satisfy His hunger. But Jesus responded, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." We must remember that our trust should be in God, not in the temporary things of this world.
Second, we need to be patient. Romans 15:4-5 tells us, "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had." The devil will always try to make us exalt ourselves instead of waiting for God's timing. He took Jesus to the highest point of the temple and told Him to throw Himself down, using Scripture to tempt Him. But Jesus responded, "Do not put the Lord your God to the test." We must trust in God's plan and not try to take matters into our own hands.
Lastly, we need to be prayed up. Philippians 4:6 reminds us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." The devil will try to show us things that are already ours and tempt us with worldly power. He showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and offered them to Him if He would worship him. But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" We must rely on prayer and trust in God's promises rather than seeking power and glory for ourselves.
In conclusion, the devil has no power over us unless we give it to him. We must remember that we are more than conquerors through Christ, and we have the power to resist the devil. When he tries to discourage us or tempt us, we can respond with the truth of God's Word. Let us declare, "Enough is enough!" and refuse to let the devil steal our joy, our blessings, and our faith.
So, today, let us come together to give God praise, dance, shout, and lift our hands in the highest praise. Thank you, Lord, for saving us and giving us the strength to overcome the devil's schemes.
Amen! God bless you all!
