Summary: As close as the message is of God's love, His truth is is absolute, and authoritive. Truth renews our minds, revives our hearts, and redirects our steps.
What is truth? That is question of all questions in the history of man. It is defined as the which conforms with fact and reality. It is genuineness, veracity, or actuality, reality. It is how things are. It consists of the mind, will, character and the glory of God. Truth is God Himself. All truth is defined in terms of God, whose very nature is God!
Scriptures speak of His truth, Psalms 31:5 "O, Lord God of truth." Jesus is "full of grace and truth." (john 1:14) and He is "the Truth." (John 14:6) The Holy Spirit (as God) "the Spirit of truth." John 14:17; Paul calls the scriptures "the Word of Truth." (2 Tim. 2:15) Psalms 19:10, "truth is more valuable than gold, than fine gold." Romans 3:4 says, "Let God be found true, though every man be found a liar."
In briefly speaking, summarizing, 1) all truth is God's truth. 2) God's truth is absolute, meaning, it is universal and objective. 3) Truth is not divided, but One entity, meaning speaks with one voice and cannot be improved on. It is always in harmony with everything that is true. 4) Truth is spelled with a capital "T." not discovered by personal feelings or intuitions. It is impartial, unbiased, unprejudiced, non-partisan. 5) It speaks to all people in all places the same. 6) It never says one thing to one person and something different else to another person.
7) Truth never changes one day and the next something else, it is same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
8) Truth speaks with the Authority of God Himself. It demands to be heard and our undivided attention. Truth demands our response to the truth.
Jesus said "You will know the truth and the truth will make you free." (John 8:32) Truth has the final word in all matters, telling us how to live our lives. It tells us how to follow Christ. It is the final judgement of every day life. All people aere measured by the truth. Truth will have the final say in our lives.
CONCLUSION:
(Steve Lawson) "Truth possesses supernatural power. It cleanses and purifies. It penetrates the deepest heart. It sanctifies, and strengthens. It conforms, transforms, and reforms. Truth renews our minds, revives our hearts, and redirects our steps. It is never outdated, or obsolete or never expires. Truth never tires, never wanes and never ceases to be true." Amen and Amen.
