This sermon explores the significance of our daily decisions, emphasizing the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in our decision-making process.
Good morning, dear brothers and sisters in Christ. It is always a joy to gather with you, to celebrate our shared faith, and to seek wisdom from the Word of God. This morning, we stand on the brink of a new understanding, a fresh revelation that will aid us in our daily walk with the Lord. We are here to talk about decisions. Decisions, those seemingly small choices that we make every day, that shape our lives in ways we often don't even realize.
As we open our hearts to the teachings of the Scripture, we find ourselves standing at the crossroads of decision-making. Every day, we are faced with choices, big and small, that shape our lives. These decisions, these daily dilemmas, are not just about choosing between right and wrong. They're about choosing between good and better, between what's easy and what's best. They're about aligning our lives with God's will and purpose for us.
A. This story is a powerful reminder of the consequences of our decisions. When we choose our own way over God's way, we bring harm to ourselves and others. But when we choose to obey God, to follow His commands and align our lives with His will, we bring blessing and life.
B. Now, let's consider the role of the Holy Spirit in our decision-making process. The Holy Spirit is our guide, our counselor, our helper. He convicts us of sin, guides us into all truth, and empowers us to live godly lives. When we face decisions, big or small, we can turn to the Holy Spirit for guidance. We can ask Him to reveal God's will to us, to give us wisdom and understanding. And as we listen to His voice, as we follow His leading, we can make decisions that honor God and advance His kingdom.
But what about those times when the right decision isn't clear? What about those times when we're faced with two good options, or when we're not sure what God's will is? C. In those times, we can turn to the Word of God. The Bible is our compass, our map, our guidebook. It reveals God's character, His promises, His commands. As we read and meditate on the Scriptures, as we apply its truths to our lives, we can gain wisdom and insight for our decisions.
D. Finally, let's consider the role of community in our decision-making process. We are not meant to make decisions in isolation. We are part of a body, a family, a community of believers. We can turn to our brothers and sisters in Christ for advice, for encouragement, for accountability. We can share our struggles, our doubts, our fears. And as we do, we can find support, wisdom, and strength.
