Order Brings God's Spirit!

Order Brings Anointing! Text: I Corinthians 14: 37-40

God never intended for His Spiritual gifts to confuse you, or to make you feel like you have been left out in the cold. No, I believe we don’t see or posses many of God’s gifts because we really don’t do anything that requires them. Order has been confused with dryness! Discontinuance of Spiritual gifts was not Paul’s solution to any abuse within the church. However, God’s gifts given to mankind are to further each person’s salvation and fruit. Paul understood that the Holy Spirit could only operate in His fullness as we embrace, welcome and love Him as the third member of the trinity! He lives within every believer, and it is His desire to flow freely and to operate through you! You will hear this again, but “love is the summation to every problem within and outside of the church!”

I. Therefore, we as true believers are to protect God Spirit by staying prayerful, loving, discerning and protective! He should always be treasured! I Corinthians 14:38 But if anybody is ignorant, let him be ignorant. [Is that God’s will]? No!

A. Listen to I Corinthians 12:1-3 Now concerning Spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant. 2). You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3). Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

B. To your surprise, when you received the gift of salvation you received God’s Holy Spirit. You were convicted by the Holy Spirit and were born again! Guess what? Every other Spiritual gift is given just as you received salvation! (Freely)

C. I Corinthians 12:4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. Listen, as you need His gifts He will give them to you!

D. Luke 11: 11-13 If a son ask for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12) Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13). If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!

E. Where should you come to, to seek a Spiritual gift? Church! Where are the Spiritual gifts most needed? In the world!

F. Examples: Peter’s Spiritual gifts were used most to the lost muilitudes. Moses Spiritual gifts were used to set God’s people free from bondage. Ruth’s Spiritual gifts saved her mother in laws life, and Jesus’ lineage. Joseph’s Spiritual gifts took him before rulers and saved his clan. All through God’s word we can read this same story! Spiritual gifts bring order and God’s anointing to set men free!

G. Jesus said in Matthew 16 that Jesus has given the church His keys to function correctly on this earth!

H. Look at I Corinthians 14:37-38, 40 If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord. 38). But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant. 40). Let al things be done decently and in order.

I. Men have read this verse, and taken it out of context, because it’s God’s will that His Spiritual gifts are embraced, defended, and if anyone comes to hurt God’s Spirit; those who are Spiritual better stand up for Him!

J. I Corinthians 14: 39 Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophecy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.

K. I Corinthians 14: 1-2 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2). For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.

L. First of all, Spiritual gifts are abused when He isn’t welcomed! (John said in Revelation that Jesus will spew luke warmness out!) #2. Spiritual gifts can be abused if man comes into any situation full of Himself. #3. Spiritual gifts are abused when you try to be Holy Ghost! ( You can’t save anyone!) #4. Spiritual gifts are abused when leadership allows a person to bring confusion and doesn’t stop it. #5. Spiritual gifts are abused when He is only displayed within the church. Remember, our sign say’s as you leave our parking lot. " You are now entering the mission field!"

M. I Corinthians 14: 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

N. Order is always order when everything operates through love! Order is always order as God’s Spirit is welcomed. Order desires all to be saved! Order desires for you to lay hands on the oppressed! He desires that all would flow in the gifts the Holy Spirit has given to you! Order and God’s loving convicting Spirit walk and move as one! [ Prayer: for order to always be in our house].
