Summary: We all have some big dreams or desires. We have often heard people say my one desire is to see my children getting settled so that I may be peaceful, while others say my one desire is to own a jet, some others my one is to have a good job and so on. Similarly, we all have that one thing.

We all have great desires to be fulfilled. There is none in this world who say that they do not have any desires. What has been declared in the Bible by the Psalmist King David is worth noting and learning. Let us look into those insights this day.

Psalms 27:4, David the King said, "One thing I desired of the Lord". We all have that one thing. Some desire of owning companies, while few others dream of owining estates. Some dream of money and assets and few others desire great positions and so on. In the Scripture quoted above we find that the Psalmist not only desires but also pursues by seeking. Having a desire or a dream is to one side but pursuing is to another and it is also very important. He said, "I desire and that I will seek". Amen. It is very important for us to know and understand that our God is the one who grants us the desires of our heart in accordance to Psalms 20:4. What are the desires that the Psalmist David is talking about here? Is it worldly, or palatial, political, financial, or anything pertaining to his own self or family?

1. THAT I MAY DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD.

Psalms 122:1 says, "I was glad when they called me to the House of God." The House of God should make us glad. If we go to the House of God and return back the same the Pastor or the Leadership or the Church is not the one to be blamed but we ourselves. King David knew the significance of the House of God. He understood the Presence of God. He expressed his desire that he would dwell in the House of the Lord not one day but all the days of his life. This is awesome. We do not enjoy the essence of His Presence because we are not serious or we have not actually tasted His presence. David knew his God and the importance of the house of God.

2. TO BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD.

The Bible calls Him Beautiful. We also sing the song that says, You are beautiful beyond description, too marvellous for words......." There is also another song that says, "Lord, you are more precious than silver, more beautiful than diamond." None can compare with the beauty of the Lord. He is Awesome. He cannot be described. King David understood His Beauty.

3. TO INQUIRE IN HIS TEMPLE

We need to be Prayer warriors. We need to be communicators with God. Many a times we look to people and inquire of them. We seek advises from worldy people. But the Psalmist David says there is none greater than God. None can possess the wisdom that He has. He is a wonderful Counsellor. We see David always inquired of God before taking any step. To that extent the Bible talks about many men and women of God who inquired of God before they did something. People look for mediums to seek God and sometimes directions. The witch at Endor was approached by King Saul to seek advice. It is also seen from the Bible that God does not like people who are dependent on others than Him. Let us prioritise Him in our lives. Let us be God Seekers.

Let us inculcate the desire to seek Him and His face in order to accomplsih great and mighty things for His Kingdom. God bless you abundantly !!!
