Summary: Part 3 Easter Sunrise Service: This word will inspire every person. This word can be preached at anytime.

One New and Happy Day Text: Psalm 144:15

Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!

Because of the resurrection God’s people should be the happiest people on the face of the earth!

Because of the resurrection, the words of Jesus on the cross 3 days earlier now have more meaning to every real disciple of Christ. The first statement of hope from Christ hanging from the cross was “My God my God why have You forsaken Me!”

David penned these same words in Psalm 22 in a time when he felt all alone and discouraged! Because of the resurrection you are pardon!

Christ, being fully man, but fully God feels our despire and heartache.

Listen to Nehemiah 9:17 writes, “Thou art a God ready to pardon” (Aren’t you glad He didn’t write, “ Thou art a God ready to put us on probation.)” No, pardon is God’s fixed attitude toward us!

Remember this, “The pardon was in place before the offense was committed.” Wow!

That means God knew His only Son would have to take on the sins of the world before Christ ever went to the cross! Can you sense just a little of the pain Christ was feeling? Not only His personal pain, but

also the pain of all humanity!

Lamentations 3:21-25 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “ Therefore I hope in Him!” 25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.

How do you wait on the Lord? God’s not looking for an idle wait, but the kind of waiting that pleases God is a waiting like a waiter that serves tables!

Secondly, from the cross Christ cried these words, “Father, into your hands I commit My Spirit.”

One of the greatest moves you or anyone will ever make is when you fully commit your being unto Him! Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden onto the Lord and He will sustain you, for He has never seen His righteous moved.

Peter wrote in I Peter 5:7 Cast all your care onto Him for He cares for you.

The final words spoken by Jesus from the cross are recorded “It is finished!”

But wait, right before Jesus said these last words one the thieves from his cross-said unto Jesus, “Remember me!”

Jesus said, “ today, you shall be with me in heaven!”

And then Christ cried out, “It is finished!” The thief on the cross became Jesus’ first convert!

The debt of sin has been paid in full; the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom. The earth quaked; those in the graves around Jerusalem were awaked from the dead and walked the streets of Jerusalem!

That third morning everyone was full Gloom, despair, darkness, sorrow, depression, disillusionment, grief and pain these are just some of the words that would mark this third day.

Now the words that Jesus spoke from the cross have new meaning for all who are left.

The two Mary’s came to the tomb early that third morning. Matthew 28:2-4 say’s, And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. They look inside the grave but behind them they hear a voice saying unto them fear not “Why do you look for the living among the dead, He’s not here He is risen!”

Could there be hope? Is there really a chance? Is it just my imagination? Paul penned these words in I Corinthians 15 If Christ isn’t resurrected then we are men most miserable!

Just as fast as sorrow filled the air; hope spoke from on top of a rock!

These two women would never be the same; they became Jesus’ first evangelist! (Telling everyone they came in contact with!)

As they went from door too door those words the angel gave them burned new and fresh within them “ He is risen, come and see!”

In closing, I would like for all of us to proclaim those words three times. He is risen! He is risen!, He is risen!

I say again from Psalm 144:15 Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!
