1.COVENANT
The Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads because of the covenant He has made with us. Zachariah prayed that the Lord made a covenant with Abraham to bless his future generations and to deliver them from their enemies so that they can serve Him without fear ,in holiness and righteousness all their lives. As the spiritual seed of Abraham we have a covenant with God to serve Him all our lives and He will remove the hindrances that we face in serving Him. The Lord wants our lives to bring glory to Him , bring peace on earth and goodwill toward men.
2.CALLING
Romans 8 : 28-34
The Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads because He is the one who has called us. He has promised that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. He foreknew us and predestined us and justifies and glorifies us . He stands on our side against any foe. We have the assurance that the Lord who did not hesitate to sacrifice His only Son for us will surely provide everything else that we need. The Lord is there to justify us against our accusers because He is the one who died for us and rose again and is seated at the right hand of God interceding for us.
3.COMPASSION
The Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads because of his compassion and mercy towards us. He has chosen to show His mercy upon our lives. People may wonder at the blessings we enjoy in our lives and try to accuse and condemn us . It is because they do not realize that it is God who has chosen to shower His mercy upon us .
4.CONFIDENCE
Hebrews 4:16 Hebrews 10:35-36 John 14 :13-14 John 16 :23-24
The Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads and we can face life with confidence. The Lord wants us to come boldly before the throne of Grace and obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need. We should not lose our confidence because it helps us to receive great reward. We need patience after we have done the will of God so that we can receive His promises. The Lord has promised us that if we ask anything in His name He will do it for us.
5.COMFORT
Isaiah 51 :3 Isaiah 46: 4 Isaiah 45 :11
The Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads and He will comfort us in every area of our lives. The Lord does not want us to live all our lives in sorrow and pain. We wants to heal our broken hearts and restore us to wholesomeness. We can go to Him with all our burdens and receive His comfort and consolation and healing for our lives. He is willing to carry us and bear us when we are too weary and discouraged. He is concerned about His children and wants us to even tell Him what we want Him to do for us.
6.COVERING
Isaiah 54 :17 II Peter 2:9 Psalms 7 :8-10 Psalms 58 :11
The Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads and will cover us and protect us from al. harm and danger. No weapon formed against us will prosper and we can condemn every tongue that rises against us. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. The Lord knows how to deliver us from our trials and temptations . He is our defence and He would grant us justice .
7.CHEERFULNESS
Psalms 59 :16-17
The Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads and therefore we can live cheerfully and joyfully . we should begin our day by praising His mercy and His mighty power . He is our refuge in the day of trouble . we need not be gloomy and depressed as though we do not any hope in this world . Instead we must be joyful and confidence because the Lord is our shield ,our glory and the lifter of our heads.
