Supplemental Passage: Matthew 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Introduction:
I. Sin brings death
a. Romans 3:23 NASB for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
II. God loves us
a. Romans 5:8 NASB But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
III. God spared us from death
a. John 3:16 NASB "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
