2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
ENOUGH: YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THE SEEDS YOU PLANT AND THE HARVEST YOU WILL RECEIVE.
DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER WAS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. In December 1957 Eisenhower was sitting in the OVAL OFFICE of the White House. He was doing very important presidential business as they were working of the budget for 1958. President Eisenhower’s secretary interrupted the meeting to inform the President there was a lady from AMILENE, KANSAS desiring to see him. The secretary informed Eisenhower the visitor had no appointment. She further stated the visitor was an OLD LADY. The staff was going to dismiss the old lady UNTIL SOMEONE MENTIONED HER NAME. THE OLD LADY WAS MRS. ELEANOR MITCHELL. She was waiting in the lobby to see the President. When President Eisenhower heard the name, he jumped up from his seat, and ran down the hall to the lobby. Dwight Eisenhower knew the old lady from his childhood. Eisenhower saw the lady that had no appointment.
Dwight Eisenhower invite ELEANOR MITCHELL INTO THE RESIDENTAL PART OF THE WHITE HOUSE. The President had tea with ELEANOR. The President cleared his whole schedule that day to visit ELEANOR. She was 73 years old. ELEANOR WAS EISENHOWER SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER FROM 1907 T0 1911. They attended a small church together. ELEANOR TOOK THE KIDS DOWNSSSTAIRS TO THE BASEMENT AND TAUGHT DWIGHT THE BIBLE. He wanted to play with his baseball cards. ELEANOR MADE HIM MEMORIZE PARTS OF PSALMS AND PROVERBS. Through the years his Sunday School teacher had written him as the soldier, now general and leader in the army letters to encourage him. She often reminded him that the Lord Jesus Christ was so important and he must maintain his character no matter what rank he accomplished.
As a boy ELEANOR MITCHELL whispered and said: “DWIGHT , YOU ARE GOING TO DO IMPORTANT THINGS SOMEDAY, BUT NEVER LET SUCCESS MAKE YOU FORGET WHERE YOU CAME FROM OR WHO HELPED YOU ALONG THE WAY!” The President took Eleanor into the cabinet room and introduced her. EISENHOWER SAID: THIS WOMAN TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS ---RESPECT THIS LADY.
WHILE SHE VISITED THE PRESIDENT, SHE SCOLDED HIM FOR NOT ATTENDING CHURCH REGULARLY. The powerful President promised Eleanor he would do better. That evening Eisenhower walked Eleanor to her taxi. He kissed her cheek and he placed an envelope with a check in her hand for the little church. In the envelope was a hand written note that stated: “FOR THE PLACE THAT BUILT MY FOUNDATION ---THANK YOU FOR SEEING THE POTENTIAL IN A TROUBLE MAKER FARM BOY. YOUR STUDENT ALWAYS: DWIGHT D. ESENHOWER.
EISENHOWER NEVER FORGOT HIS SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER NOR THE LESSONS SHE TAUGHT HIM. We must have an attitude of gratitude for you will never know the REACH OF THE SEEDS YOU PLANT.
*ENOUGH: sufficient, adequate, as much as necessary, such quantity to meet the demands, needs, expectations,
*NOT ENOUGH: lack, inadequate, insufficient,
We had 100 chickens. We daily would feed them. There were always a few chickens would bully the other chickens and try to keep the away from the food. Yet there was more than plenty for all them. Why are those that would hoard the food and not want to share?
WHY WOULD A MIGHTY WARRIOR TAKE 5 SMOOTH STONES? WE NEED SHARP EDGES!
1 Samuel 17:40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.
I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH TO SHARE? WE ARE GOING TO STARVE TO DEATH?
1 Kings 17:12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH --- MY SONS ARE GOING TO GO INTO SLAVERY
2 Kings 4:1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
