Summary: Try to imagine all the difficulties that a person could possibly face on this planet earth. Now, try to think of what it would be like to say “no more” one last time and bid riddance to them all. It can happen. It will happen . . . for those who make Christ Jesus their Lord and Savior.

NO MORE

SCRIPTURE: Revelation 21:4 - 5 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

INTRODUCTION:

Have you ever thought about the short phrase “no more”? Maybe just today you have used this phrase when completing a difficult duty, solving a troubling problem, or suffering pain of some sort.

Often times, I think “No more will I have to do that for another few weeks, or months, or some other period of time. It gives me some encouragement as I complete tasks that are demanding or go through trials that seem to take away my very breath of life.

Try to imagine all the difficulties that a person could possibly face on this planet earth. Now, try to think of what it would be like to say “no more” one last time and bid riddance to them all. It can happen. It will happen . . . for those who make Christ Jesus their Lord and Savior.

I. THE GOD OF “NO MORE” SADNESS

A. I Samuel 1:18 “And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.”

B. In anticipation of heaven, the gospel now does much to alleviate human woes, and to wipe away tears from the mourner’s eyes. Albert Barnes

C. Though joy is now sometimes only temporary, just ahead is a time of eternal joy.

Isaiah 52:1 “Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.”

Isaiah 60:18-20 “Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. (v. 19) The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. (v. 20) Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.”

Isaiah 62:4 “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land

shall be married.”

Isaiah 65:19 “And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.” (Millennial Reign)

IV. “NO MORE” HARM BY MAN

Luke 12:4 -5 “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. (v. 5) But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after

he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”

John 16:21 “A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.”

Revelations 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”
