2. Excuses for neglect of duty:

Whatever excuses there is, remember it's only excuses, you can do above and beyond excuses if you really like GOD's Presence, then excuses will turn into alibis because no matter what happens you will do what GOD's will is. If there's a will, there's a way, only will is GOD's Will, only way is GOD's Way.

a. personal incompetency

But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?”

Exodus 4:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”

b. lack of social position

- usually it's not true it's a negative opinion of the slave against his master, usually it mirrors who the slave really is in front of his master.

Matthew 25:24-25 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate.

I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’

f. no need discovered

“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’

g. pressure of business

Luke 14:18-20 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’

Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’

Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can’t come.’

IX. CONCLUSION:

Whatever excuses there is, remember it's only excuses, you can do above and beyond excuses if you really like GOD's Presence, then excuses will turn into alibis because no matter what happens you will do what GOD's will is. If there's a will, there's a way, only will is GOD's Will, only way is GOD's Way.
