New Things

Introduction: God loves new things. Revelation 21:5 says, "Behold, I make all things new..." Genesis opens with the aura of newness everywhere. In post-Genesis books, God does new actions in salvation history in response to our sin. His mercies are new every morning, says Jeremiah (Lam.3:23). Isaiah wrote in 42:9, "I declare new things..."

Transition: Today, I want to declare "new things..." Since God loves new things, I think we ought to celebrate new things!

A. Have them to raise their hands...

B. Say something good about them...

C. We are breaking the 100 barrier...

II. New leaders...

A. Have church board to raise their hands...

B. Note the balanced age-mix...

C. Tell about sermon volunteers...

III. New building...

A. Tell about Jeff Frank visit...

B. Lay out a vision for the family life center...

IV. New life...

A. The reason for new families, new leaders, a new building is that it can lead to a new life for someone...

B. Lay out salvations plan...

C. Share 2 Cor. 5:17 "a new creature..."
