Introduction: God loves new things. Revelation 21:5 says, "Behold, I make all things new..." Genesis opens with the aura of newness everywhere. In post-Genesis books, God does new actions in salvation history in response to our sin. His mercies are new every morning, says Jeremiah (Lam.3:23). Isaiah wrote in 42:9, "I declare new things..."
