Summary: "How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation" Hebrews 2:3 Salvation is often neglected by people who will not respond to God's grace. Even believers will sometimes neglect their own salvation by refusing to have a daily walk with the Lord.

Intro.
The writer of Hebrews makes a great connection
between the Old and New Testaments of the bible.
His intended listeners are Jew.
He reminds us to pay attention to the things that are important.
Primarily our own salvation. To know that we are
saved.
He asks the question “Heb. 2:3 How shall we escape,
if we neglect so great salvation;
Neglected Salvation
I. Neglected by the World
A. These are the people who have never heard and
don’t care.
B. We are made to be spiritual people.
Matt. 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love
the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all
thy soul, and with all thy mind.
1. Heart - Emotions
2. Soul - Spiritual
a. Everyone worships something or someone.
b. We have a spiritual nature.
c. Man attempts some way to acknowledge his
spiritual nature.
C. God is often neglected by the world even when
he has so made Himself obvious to everyone.
Psa. 19:1 ¶ The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psa. 97:6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
Rom. 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are
without excuse:glory.
D. Some will confuse the creation for the Creator.
Rom. 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature
more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
E. They neglect that there is a God.
1. They won’t recognize the Creator
2. They refuse to hear about God.
3. They will die in there sin. Hebrews 2:2
II. Neglected by the Witnesses
A. These are the ones who have heard the Gospel and
refuse the believe it.
B. They will neglect God’s message
“For God so loved the world”
C. They will neglect God’s son.
‘That he gave his only begotten son”
D. They will neglect Gods offer of eternal life.
“That whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.”
E. Even those who saw Jesus do miracles, would neglect Him.
John 12:37 ¶ But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on
him:
F. They have heard the message and neglect God’s salvation
III. Neglected by the Washed
A. These are the people who have made a
profession of faith, but seen to neglect that they
are even saved.
1. It’s possible that they were never really saved.
a. They said a prayer without really believing in
their heart. Romans 10:9-10
b. Or, they were genuinely saved and never
learned how to walk with the Lord.
2. They are saved, but neglecting the blessings of
being saved.
B.They are saved, but have no daily walk with the
Lord.
Job 19:20 My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
C. Many want to be saved, but without living for God at all.
1. God wants your full commitment to Him.
Matt. 16:24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let
him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
2. They Bible say that people who are saved but live like they’re not saved are “carnal”
3. Paul told the church at Corinth.
1Cor. 3:1 ¶ And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal,
even as unto babes in Christ.
Conclusion.
If you are not saved you will not escape if you neglect
God’s Salvation.
Heb. 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;
If you are saved, don’t neglect to walk with the Lord
every day.
Hearing from Him through His Word
Talking to Him through prayer.
Trusting him about and in every thing.
Psa. 62:8 ¶ Trust in him at all times; ye people,
pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for
us
.Psa. 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust
also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
