Lucille Reynolds Funeral Scripture: Psalms 116:15

1. In behalf of the family, we want to thank everyone who is here. When we hear the words such and such has died or passed I would like to say this that such and such will now live for eternity. Lucille would simply tell us I went on to my great reward.

• In Psalm 116:15 we find this comforting statement: “Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints.”

• Something Precious Happened July 27 for God’s servant, Lucille Reynolds she went to be with the Lord. “Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His Saints.” She would often say to me “I don’t know why God is keeping me here”.

2. When I think of Lucille Reynolds and her idea of her great reward a scripture comes to my mind

Revelation 14:13. It The Apostle John is writing this, and he says, “Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, ‘Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”

• Mrs. Reynolds is the one who died (LIVED) “in the Lord,” and her death (LIFE) is precious to God because she now is with Him in a way that surpasses anything we experience in this life. That’s why it say Blessed are the dead” Happy

• The scripture continues to say (They rest), “‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.’ Yes Family Mrs Reynolds is at rest and peace.

3. Mrs. Reynolds Great Reward is “No More” No more suffering for Mrs. Reynolds.

• No more tears. No more wondering about stuff like when will I see Bill? I remember one morning Mrs. Reynolds had a senior moment she told me to tell Bill to get back here it time to eat breakfast. She didn’t have to many of those for sure her mind was very sharp.

• No more sorrow, No More sickness, no more pain, no more disappointments. Mrs. Reynolds one day while leaving the center and going to Havens I was talking to her I said “I will come see you”, She looked at me and said, “that’s what they all say” she was wise. I will never forget those words and I did go see her at The Haven several times.

• No more restrictions in a worn-out mortal body.

• She now lays her works at the Master’s feet and enjoys His welcome home. I direct your thought to the glory she is experiencing right now in heaven.

• This poem by Myrtle Erickson puts it well. It’s entitled “The Homeland.”

• “THINK –Of stepping on the shore and finding it Heaven;

• Of taking hold of a hand and finding it God’s hand;

• Of breathing a new air and finding it celestial air; Of passing from storm and tempest to an unbroken calm;

• Of looking up—and finding it HOME.”

4. Mrs. Reynolds lived the Christian life as a real example and that’s why she has went on to her great reward.

Micah 6:8: “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”

• I think Mrs. Reynolds lived that out. She didn’t just talk about it; she lived it!

• They say Still waters run deep, and there was a depth in her faith that few Christians reach.

• She loved God, she loved her family, she loved her church, she loved her caregivers, she told me one day she loved me and that touches my soul. She loved to travel Europe, Mexico, Caribbean etc… Cruises

• She loved my Bible studies Donna would hunt me down, “Mrs. Reynolds wanting to know if you’re having Bible study?” After I thought about this and chest was boasting I realized Mrs. Reynolds couldn’t hear to good I think she loved my flailing of my hands and what I was saying looked exciting.

.

5. Friend’s family Mrs. Reynolds has went on to her Great reward so what does she leave us?

• I don’t know if Mrs Reynolds left money to her church to her family or not. My goodness she was 102 years old her money would have had to run out unless she had fortune.

• But I know She left something far, far more valuable.

• She left a legacy to be followed. Paul reminded Timothy to stir up the gift of God in him for service to the Lord. In that exhortation he reminded Timothy of “the genuine faith” that was in him.

• Paul celebrated seeing that in this young man of God. But he also talked about how Timothy came into that Faith through the influence of his mother and grandmother. Paul said that genuine faith “dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
